That is not aetherium. Aetherium acculates over time from having the mine. Favor is what you get from guild missions and … see above.
Your right, sorry I was about half dead to the world when I wrote that… Favor is the main concern for us all, though aetherium is also a concern that we all face, both are key components to our guilds going up in levels…
I would like to thank everyone for their responses… It means alot, not only to me, but to us all, all small guilds… We all work hard to achieve what we have done, pushing forward, making it work… I agree, we do need our own LFG, it would help us out alot… until then though, we need to stick together, help each other and other small guilds the best we can, show them we are here to stay, we aren’t backing down!!!
Until we can find a final solution to our collective issues, we still have the ability to track each other down in game, though servers might be an issue from time to time, I honestly think we can work around it…
One of our biggest issues we are facing right now is the ability to get aetherium, it’s what has us at a stand still in our guild, missions are the only way to get it, and without people, missions are mostly improbable, though not entirely impossible…
As time goes, we will figure out more solutions to our issues…
Also what day do you guys do guild missions? Id be happy to help out, seriously I have plenty of guild slots.
We would love the help, our biggest issue we face tho is unstable work schedules which makes it very hard to plan any day to run missions, that’s what I mean by the whole being creative lol, most often its me alone, or maybe someone else, sometimes we are able to have 2 online, and if we are really lucky we might get 3 to 4 at one time, extremely rare lol… There have been so many times we have had to scrap the idea of making a run of it just because someone or multiples got off work late or got called in, etc… There are so many missions we aren’t able to do that most often we may get only one done in a week, if we are lucky… In fact, just checked to see and we have only completed one mission in 4 weeks… yep that is sad… lol

First of all, I’m pretty sure you ran into a troll. Don’t waste any further thoughts on him, that kitten is simply not worth it.
About small guilds having problems building their hall and upgrades- yeah, I feel you. I’m in a tiny guild myself (in fact the only active players are only my wife and myself and from time to time a friend of us, but we try to keep it alive for very similar reasons than you are), yet we managed to get our guild hall and pushed our guild level to 10.
But we’re fine with it and consider upgrading our hall as a loooooong time goal and are in now way in a hurry. Other zerg-sized guilds already hit the level cap? Nice for them, but I don’t see any real advantages they have from it. As long as we’re having fun playing it’s all good.
Usually Trolls don’t bother me, but something about what was said this time did… Either way, it doesn’t matter anymore, we are continuing to build our little guild and in the end we will feel more accomplished for it because we did it… We understand what its like to not have many on to help, its mainly 4 or 5 of our guild, the rest are either part of other guilds, or never online… The most we ever have in game at one time is 5 members, but its usually 1 or 2 at a time… still tho, reaching level 10 is great and my congrats for you, you will be very impressed and amazed when you are able to unlock and finish “second tier” upgrades, our first one made us push harder… Good Luck!!!
Couldn’t ANet give us a feature in LFG: Looking for other small guilds to band together to xyz? Today. Maybe tomorrow.
It’s an awesome idea, maybe someday they will
As far as I know, the only place to train as a scribe is in the guild hall… You can join a guild that already has a hall and work on it there, or you can build your own hall and start fresh…
I’ve dumped insane amounts of money in to my guild hall because I have a guild of 20 total people myself. We run small WvW roaming stuff and we already had our guild buffs for like +5 supply and such before they integrated the guild halls – but yet I am stuck having to do it again and spend THOUSANDS of gold to get back what I already had before.
So yeah, I feel your pain. They don’t care about our small groups, they want us to become a part of something bigger or spend all of our gold for not wanting to do what they want us to do.
Its easy for larger guilds, with so many putting in the mats, the cost to each member is low, but yes, for us smaller guilds, we put in more time and money just to make it work… Just to get to level 25, countless hours of farming events for mats, buying gems just to convert to gold for that little extra needed when you fall short for an upgrade, all mats going into guild hall instead of armor and weapon upgrades… its harder for a small guild to do it, but it can be done… Not too mention all the account bound purchases that have to be done since a small guild doesn’t have the capacity of players… Either way we look at it, so many look down on the smaller guilds but don’t take the time to look and see what they actually do compared to the larger guilds.
Honestly, I never would have posted anything, but this really got to me today. As a small guild leader of 18, and a guild level of 25, we aren’t really even on the radar for anyone, but we have worked hard to achieve what we have already done. As a smaller guild we do ask for help in open map from time to time with missions from others, and usually there is always a good response, especially from members of larger guilds, but sometimes things don’t go as planned. Today seemed to be the worst it has gotten.
Today, I decided to run a low level bounty, I knew I couldn’t do it on my own, so I did what we normally do and posted in map chat. This has always worked in the past for us. Today though, things went differently. Today I was berated by fellow players just for asking.
“Why would you do that to your guild members, Why can’t you all get on to do it together, All you are doing is taking the chances away from them, Why would you be with such a bad guild if you have no one to help you, Trashy guilds like that should be banned, Why don’t you get with a real guild who is worth it?”… Each time I tried to answer or explain, I just got hammered again, which to me was a bit rude. Normally the rudeness of others doesn’t bother me, and normally I would have blasted back at the person, but nothing I said mattered and the comments about our guild really hit home.
We all have our own reasons for our guilds, some for simple reasons, others for very personal reasons, but there is always a reason of some sort. We help others if and when we can, and only ask others if we truly can’t do it on our own. Our guild was founded by a very kind and helpful man, both in game and in RL. Sadly tho, he died a couple months before GW2’s first anniversary. He was a role model and adopted father to me, as well as a godfather to 2 of my children. We chose to continue to work the guild in his name, and do our best to make it flourish. Most of our members are either family or very close friends, 7 of whom live in the same home. So to be called a trashy or bad guild is very insulting, we do our best to work hard at it. We aren’t always able to be in game, either from working long hours or school or sleep even, but still we try and do our best. Not being able to be there as a guild often means we have to be creative to get stuff done, missions completed, upgrades finished, etc.
There are many small guilds, like ours, that try, and yes even some that fail, but we, as a guild, commend you all for the effort you have put in. We, as a guild, will still push forward, and will reach top guild level someday, with a master scribe even (that may take some time tho). None the less, I plan to keep trying, and keeping working hard for my guild. I will not give up, neither will my small guild of so few.
Honestly, when I first heard of the Shared Inventory Slot, I was excited, but after doing the research about it, I found myself to be very disappointed in what I found.
Firstly, just having it one slot, and not a full bag slot, as many I am sure have assumed, as did I, was a big let down. I was honestly hoping I would be able to share my consumables between my characters, which turned out not to be so.
Secondly, the cost is way high for just one slot, and yes, I know we get a break if we buy more than one, but still, in all honesty, it isn’t worth it.
To be honest guys, it should be a special bag slot, 20 slot invisible bag, with the ability to share all consumables between characters. Account bound consumables, as well as food and utility type consumables. Most all players use one or more bags just for carrying what they consume daily, and having to use the bank constantly just to swap items between characters does tend to be a bit tedious. Having a bag that is set for the entire account would be better, once purchased it is on all characters. It would hold everything from buffs to primers, food to utilities, shovels to acid, etc… Many of us bounce around the map many times during a gaming session, and to be able to have what we need when we need it would make things alot better.
Lets talk costs. I know that the one slot is 700 gems, but honestly I would be more inclined to by a bag slot for 2500, over buying a single slot for 700. I have spoken to many players outside of game and we all agree we would jump on a bag slot over a single slot in a heart beat.
Please understand though that this is personal opinion, mine and many others as well. We are just giving it as an idea, nothing more.
