Hmmm, it always makes me laugh that people are so blinded to think that only their preferred game mode should be how to earn a legendary, ever thought about how people on the other side of the fence feel? people like myself who dont enjoy PvE but are forced to complete the whole tyria world , which takes hell of a lot more than 8 hours for a WvW reward track, but you seem happy enough to let us have to sit through that grind, strange…

Well from what i seen tonight, i know its reset and new linkings etc but, had a 101 man eb q, 30 ish on deso bl , 15-20 on home bl and gandara, was kitten boring cos couldnt move anywhere and we had nothign to do on home bl for a while.

I personally use mine on the Pact Supply Network Agents daily for the map bonus thingys, wittles down my karma that i have no use for, and when you see a map with good map bonuses, charged lodestones, powerful blood, giant eyes etc, i just spend them all on that map and cash in on the free gold

I dotn feel so called Nightcapping is the issue, its the way the score is done in wvw that screws everyone over. ive always thought that PPT only hands advantage to those who have most numbers more of the time, so imo i have always believed that PPC ( points per cap) would be better balance, night capping would then have the same limit as rest of server during prime, so no matter how long its held for with no enemy around to contest the +695 score they can hold for 6-8 hours, they will only still score a set number of points due to this. also i feel score could be contributed to via successfully defending a objective and ofc PPK.

but meh you please one person you then annoy another, cant win/win always.

Then again tbh the score is pretty irrelevant nowadays, you get the same for winning as loosing, if you do win and go up unless you got plenty and plenty of people, you get slapped back down by bigger blobs in a week anyway. ive learned to ignore the overall scores and just focusing on having fun….at least try too

Seems to me that the guys that want this are only the ones that their server has 0 coverage at nighttime, ive been on both ends of it, if it bothers you that much move server instead of stopping other peoples playtime just cos you want to go to bed.

Why? Because the server clearly states that it’s an EU server when you choose it. That’s why.

But whilst I’m not entirely in agreement with the OP, I think he has an interesting idea in a “vulnerability window” like the Crowfall devs have talked about.

So i happen to know several people that live in EU and are on EU servers and due to real life circumstances there play time is not EU prime time, now they aren’t allowed to play exactly same way as we all are just because you have gone to bed? seems fair….

as others have stated, if your server doesn’t have a “night-shift” that is just unlucky for your server or any others that don’t.
And also being in EU servers it does not state anywhere you HAVE to play a certain time to contribute to your servers score

Basically 90% of FoW is on holidays or doing real life stuff over the Christmas/new year period, even our american guys are away mostly, will get back to normal in next week or so ( hopefully) though again majority have gotten bored of the WvW state as it is now ( dying game mode).

And also to Rex, its ok for now, since we gone up its given you a break form having to take back a fully tier 3 UW bl every morning, and to say it carried us isnt quite right, FoW got mostly lazy and lost peopel to pve or quit playing since HoT. before we would always be competitive or most tick during EU daytimes too, can/could also compete in tier 8 fairly well too, we cant compete with WsR prime time zergs/guilds but then its only for 4-5 hours a day, they not populated for other 19-20 hours as a rule + no night cap either, hence RoS always beating them if they playing that given week…… But meh wvw dead all round as a rule certainly not as good as use to be, i struggle to find any motivation to stay in there now a days……almost feels a waste of 2.5-3k wvw playtime on FoW, but then again i just remember old times

Ok seeing as no one is explaining this properly from a FoW point of view i will attempt to do so in a hope that a Blacktide player is mature enough to respond maturely.
Blacktide players in general don’t understand what is happening and when it is happening, FoW has a night shift of around 7-8 people that caps alot of points for us every night legitly, since the hakers have been around and following them the hackers instantly recap anything that the night crew caps in 10-15 secs of the lord going off RI, hence why our night crew no longer plays atm, ( though still on FoW), there is no way to stop this hackign from our point of view so why bother to waste seige etc to cap stuff if in a few seconds its lost to idiots cheating. you cannot kill them as they see you coming from 6000 units away i belive it is so they see you coming and instantly port away meanwhile you ress a lord and then they cap another thing while you do that.

So as a result Blacktide have a massive tick all night with our night crew refusing to play (rightly so) and then Blacktide normal time players upgrade all to tier 3, even thou all 3 servers know who capped it in 1st place. as a result Blacktide players see that you have a massive lead so enter wvw since you arent loosing, Blacktide always had numbers every reset they would be winning and eventually fall away unlike now.

Blacktide players then claim that its all legit caps etc when we all know it isnt and get annoyed we call them Hacktide, so FoW and UW wont put up with that anymore.

To answer " hackers havent been around for 2 weeks" thing, ofc they arent around you have all things all of the time, hackers only play to flip stuff while porting to lord.

Also to answer the thing that is said that “FoW are crying cos they are loosing”, Pls dotn be silly, you really think that matters to us who have spent our entire existence in tier 9 and only occasionally having ventures to tier 8?…. winning is always a bonus.

On the point that is made about Blacktide having skillfull players etc, i would say i have yet to see any guild wipe Jd in a even matchup, 9/10 Jd will wipe Blacktide group and then Blacktide will respond and call in a 50+ blob ( HARD and BTA are worst for this).

If only Blacktide server was up against a thief that is invulnerable and invisible insta-downing players, 2 hackers that port into lord rooms and kill and flip towers/keeps in 10-15 seconds and flip bl’s that are fully tier 3 in 8 minutes, a Blacktide player using alt accounts to destroy seige at our wp’s report our moves to your server and to spam chat with recruiting ads ( and yes if you look that is against the rules to sabotage enemy seige on enemy server with alt accounts) and finally a BTA speed hackers who use to speed hack all around Stonemist castle scouting for any Enemy.

Since we decided to stop playing vs the cheats, especially our night shift which refuses to be cheated. however i know that they are all on fow still and waiting for a legit MU, the cheaters have had nothing to do. so why come to hack a few sentry s? thou i wouldn’t put it past them seeing as BT sink so low at times with the endless idiot who camps our wp’s, kills our golems, reports our position to your server and spams chat with ridiculous " join hacktide messages".

there is a reason BT is most well know server for hackers and its not by accident

Yep sadly its the same on FoW. the BT guy just camping wp destroying golems and reporting ur position to his server of cheaters. also trying to recruit but i blocked him long ago so no longer get that issue…however i do report him multiple times a week when i see him camping a wp.
but as you say no matter anyhow…us and you guys can only hope hacktide go up so let them have massive lead all time
might be nice for use to let someone else deal with that crap for atleast 1 week…..maybe more reports from other servers will do it some good to show we arent just being cry babys because lets face it what have FoW and UW got to moan about, we spent most of our lives in tier 8/9 anyway so loosing means jack!

Yeah dont worry the boycott started on reset night when BT hacker took fow bl within 10 mins of kicking off a new match, was enough for all of us sensible people to realise nothing will change for rest of this MU so basically all decided to not bother with it.

Yh its really quite sad…..as of reset night certainly FoW as a server has boycotted the matchup… understandable really, why play when whatever you do is undermined, best case soloution is to let them win so easy this week and not us or UW show up at all and let them go to tier 8 atleast if we loose in tier 9 with WSR or other server it will be fair and square…..

Also on another note, its nice BT showup when haking restarts and they have a lead, interesting tactic

removing ppt…that clearly has never worked in 3 way fight anyway…..wouldnt encourage zerging, if they just zerg they will loose out while other servers break up a bit and cap more at a faster rate then a blob…..

how fun is it atm when a server can say….ahh dont worry about our stuff in prime time…we will just cap it at midnight and hold it all night until next day…yawn

and also it wont make ridiculous scorelines like there currently are, i.e: between 1st and 2nd place, as once you have capped all there is no more points gaining unless enemy’s flip it and you cap it back or successfully defend it…..currently id imagine a night shift crew that does cap all over night…..has nothing to do but camp tier 3 stuff anyway and hoping for enemy to show up

Just remove PPT full stop…….only award points for capping/defending, killing enemy players…..you get more points for taking upgraded stuff and defending upgraded stuff etc etc…..

This is precisely the incident I refer to in my original post. It received HUGE attention among Youtubers, bloggers and the story even entered the mainstream news media (I think there was an article about it in a few UK newspapers) It was good PR for Anet and GW2 in general. Sad to see they are back at it again. Someone needs to jump on this before it gets out of control.

Perfect way to embarrass these idiots who seem to find it fun cheating……glad this one has been dealt with.

Id suggest that all hackers that get found and proved to be hackers get named and shamed on youtube all the time

I think it just helps the more populated servers again, they can have people in every tower scouting etc, low tier servers struggle to get a zerg together at peak times. now they just been handicapped even more. even easier for the bigger guys to just walk over them.
On a aside not, im not sure if there is anything they do to wvw that doesent benefit more populated servers…..remove PPT maybe, decent rewards for taking objectives, rewards for defending, rewards for upgrading (better rewards for defending and taking upgraded keeps)….but again that may favor the bigger guys.
