I’d prefer to see some sort of badges to the Commander. So if you hover your cursor over them it gives you like an info with some tokens that could imply number of kills, number of tower captures, number of camp captures, etc. Or maybe just a quick WvW XP ranking? With something like that you could see who the inexperienced Commanders are and choose whose squad you want to join.
Is it possible to simply switch to a world that holds the points you want, do them, and switch back? I think there’s a week delay before you can switch back, but wouldn’t that get you access to a point you need?
Ah, Thanks, I misunderstood.
The main reason to do the JP is to get the Badges of Honor. Looks like the easiest way to obtain them is finishing maps in WvW (10 for each map) and doing the Jumping Puzzles in each map. But since you need 500 of them (for a Legendary Weapon), would probably have to do the Jumping Puzzle a lot to get enough.

I’m a casual player. What I found for the couple dungeon runs I did was to talk to people and find someone experienced willing to take me along. I ended up getting into a guild on a different server than I am on, and they’ll invite me along if they have 4 people and are willing to have one person tell me what to do and I do it. Yes, I died more than the experienced people did and ended up running back to them a lot and with all my armor damaged, but it was fun, we did the dungeon in under 90min, and I got through it.
So for those who are casual, I suggest that we try to be more social. I know it can be tough for people who have difficulty talking to strangers, so get a friend to ask around for you if that’s a problem. But some groups of players are willing to teach and bring casual players along just as long as the casual player is willing to follow directions.
At this point, I’ve been sending out email to friends and seeing if we can reserve an evening for a whole group of 5 casual players to try a dungeon and see if we can muddle our way through it and learn with a group that isn’t experienced. Yeah, needing to do a dungeon 10 times to get enough tokens for something is really, really tough with being casual. But if you’re in it to have fun and honest up front about your skill level, most players won’t care if they suffer a wipe and will just laugh since it’s just a game and good fun. So don’t feel reluctant to ask people to teach you. I’ve met some really fun people out there by doing so.
Re: ArcTheFallen: According to the wiki at http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Map_completion it says you have to complete the WvW maps to get 100% world completion. And at http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mistwrought_Vault it shows an achievement for getting the jumping puzzle in the Borderlands. Did they change that since the wiki was done?
Ah! Thanks. I didn’t know that, could help. Could be fun if that time becomes standard and we get dozens of people running in to do the puzzle at the same time.
Can you explain what a “new WvW match pops” is? Thank you.
Last night I tried to do the Jumping Puzzle in Borderlands. There was a group of people that seemed to be camping on it because as soon as I went it, they attacked. I tried going in with no armor equipped, waving hi, tried to /say that I was just there to try to do the puzzle, please let me be, but they never responded (so I have no idea if they even knew English) and just kept killing me every time I tried to go.
I did ask on the /team channel for any suggestions, but other than those things I tried (and one response from someone who said to either help kill or stop talking on the /team channel), no one had any good suggestions.
After 6 times, I gave up and went back to exploring PvE.
So I’m looking for suggestions in how to finish my exploration and puzzles?
I didn’t see this elsewhere in any forum threads, but thought it worth passing on to people because it looked so cool. A house that would fit in with Lion’s Arch:
