Boo hoo, latecomers have plenty chance, old players don’t play forever. Everyone quits eventually :p
If you are dedicated you should have an advantage. Who knows maybe the leaderboards might also have sections for monthly/weekly as well as all time.
This.
The Diablo 2 ladder was the same thing, and the top changed all the time.
Pretty sure that Diablo 2 ladders had periodic resets. I think that would be a good idea for these as well though that would proabably exclude achievements that can only be obtained once.
I am not sure I agree 100%, but I have to admit that after playing around for a bit in the SAB last night my initial thought was:
“Wow, this is pretty amazing! But I wish they would have added more to the F&F Story instead of this…”
I understand that thinking this is flawed on a number of levels (potentially different dev teams, unknown F&F release schedule, etc.) but regardless, that was my initial perception and that is what will stick for most folks.
F&F has been underwhelming up to the last iteration. Even with the recent addition which had some actual content (great new characters, custscenes, and some actual story and lore) I was just “whelmed”.
I am hoping as F&F or other Living Story arcs continue, they provide as much if not more polished, full-featured content as the special/seasonal events.
That is coming, this is not related to that. F&F is end of april.
Looking forward to it. Just hoping that after waiting another full month it takes more than an hour to complete.
I think the SAB is a great event! I spent a few hours with it last night and I was pretty amazed. It is just unfortunate that I spent about 45 mins to complete the latest iteration of F&F and was just kinda pleased. All polished and fun content is good content, I just wish there was a better balance between story/lore/core game content and these seasonal events.

Rox had great dialogue and demeanor, her eyes need to be adjusted to be slightly smaller. They are just too large to make sense to my brain. (like Uncanny Valley/Cognitive Dissonance.)
The story and cut scenes for both quest chains were great. However, as stated above the actual mechanics of each chain were virtually identical which was unfortunate. Also, if Living Story is going to hold anyone’s interest they better step it up a notch from 1 hour worth of content each month — even at this level of quality, i would expect new additions every 1-2 weeks.
@StormadgeddonBK
I think you’re being overdramatic. “RNG” (or called by it’s simpler name, “chance”) is a core mechanic in most forms of gaming — whether it be MMOs, Video Games, Board Games, Sports, and so on and so on.
Yes, RNG is part of most games. However, when you wrap RNG with a slot machine graphic it instantly becomes online gambling even if no money is spent.
My concern is the act of gambling within the GW2 universe and the blurring line between a normal game with RNG (D2 is all RNG but there is no gambling) and other games with RNG that use a gambling mechanic (e.g. slot machine game etc).
Pretty sure gambling from a legal standpoint requires a ‘payout’ with a certain value which varies by region/state/etc. Technically, the ‘payout’ from BLCs has zero value, and technically you don’t even own it.

Wow you folks are dramatic.
Making them account bound just makes me (and many others) feel that we’re forced to use our every last ounce of ingame gold or completely dry out our Mastercards/Visas if we want to get those skins.
This is called having no self-control and is not a flaw with the game.
everything worth owning is wrapped in BLC’s.
Serious?
considering the road Anet is going. It’s really getting a pay-to-win game.
Because skins give you an advantage.
I DEMAND a redesign to the fused scepter. It looks like a torch for you main hand. It’s so bad.
…
This is about the #1 most aggrovating thing in this game …
Hm… nope.
I have 8 level 80’s now, I really don’t see how you can mistaken what character you have done it on and not. Secondly take a a pad of paper and pencil or pen and write all your character names down check they character name when you have done it. In 24 hours you can come back and do it again.
Mildly valid, but annoying.
I am sorry but adding a feature in the game because you can not do a simple tracking process that any 4th grader is taught is not a valid reason to devote time to making it an in game idea. Especially when they have more pressing issues like, Culling, and doing something about greedy players that guest n 4 different servers and loot the chest 5 different times, which by the ways is causing the events to be so lagged down no one is really having fun. So as rude as I may have sounded, I think it is rude to ask for something you can accomplish on your own with out it being an in game mechanic or interface option, especially when there are more pressing issues at hand.
1. No need to be offensive.
2. Agreed that larger problems such as culling and major event lag should be prioritized above this.
3. You cannot loot an event chest multiple times within a lockout by guesting on other servers.
I will third this. I usually go to GW2 dragon timer for times and to get a gauge on what I’ve done. However people keep resetting the timer and screwing it up.. It would be good if we also had a dragon timer in game that you could hide/display or a timer for the pre events. The little hints they provide in orange are good but mostly overlooked by a lot of players because you usually see in map chat “is Tequatl here?” “Has Jormag flown by yet”. Excellent suggestion OP!!
This was not the intention of the original request. The original request was a way to track which boss/event chests you have completed on a character for the daily lockout, so that you do not mistakenly attend the event twice when you will not receive rewards.
This, I agree with 100%.
I do not think In-Game Timers for the events themselves should be added.
A good solution to this would be to give players on their home server priority to the main instances, and force ‘guesters’ into the overflow.
Pretty sure there was never resistance toward a gw2lfg.com style dungeon/group finder. What people have a problem with is a completely randomized group builder. Which I agree is a step further than the tool needs to be taken.
