I just feel that Ive worked on enough computers in my lifetime to realize that 90% of the time its something on the user end, not the program.

Your graphics are either turned up higher then your hardware can support, you’ve got driver conflicts, a virus, virus scanner is slowing performance, OR it is possible that the 690GTX just has issues with the game. That isnt Anets fault, thats your hardware vendor’s fault.

Go to the security option on the left, it should show if anyone has logged in from another IP address.

Also change your email password, and make it unique from you GW2 password.

Finally, check your spam box for your email to make sure it didnt eat your authenticate email. (You did VALIDATE your email when you signed up btw right?)

When you log in it should give you a reason why your account was suspended. A generic reason anyway. What does it say.

What “exactly” does it say when you log in.

How long ago did you put a ticket in for?

I just find it doubtful that they ban you based off some “algorithm”. In almost every case they have specifically shown that they DO read what you have been saying in chat before they ban you.

Second, I seriously doubt you got autobanned.

I am 100% positive they review your chatlog to see if you are spamming “Gold for sale” messages.

TO be honest, i seriously doubt hackers are brute forcing accounts. Its not worth the time investment per account. They use a list of common passwords, try a few variations then move on to the next account.

Or they got your login information from some other site that isn’t secure.

A password consisting of 4 random words would take a LONG time to brute force.

Even with the BEST brute force options available it would take YEARS to brute force a password that has roughly 16characters in random word format.

I don’t think they will answer but I AM kinda surprised they cant restore gold. I am positive its just a value stored in their database somewhere. SQL or Oracle it would be very simple to restore something like gold.

Maybe, and this is just me guessing, its just a matter of them not wanting to refund the gold because of economy issues it would cause with them “creating money”?

You are overclocking that I2500k for one thing(Which they specifically say NOT to do). I get great FPS from a very similar setup.

You guys do realize it would be very hard for support to take your word on this right? You know how easy it would be to falsely say this just to get someone temporally banned or account locked…

I seriously doubt they can just take your word for it. Your friend needs to email support ASAP.

Yeah I am scared to even play while my kids are up (baby never sleeps) for fear of being banned because the baby needed changed while I was in the middle of an event, or because I am trying to use one hand to fight while juggling the baby in the other because of being caught in the middle of an event. I know a lot of people will say “just log out” but some events are based on a time, example the dragons, if I ever hope to participate then I tend to have to do two things at once.

So I try to stay in a town as much as possible when I may be forced to jump afk for more then a second.

They aren’t going to ban you for going AFK during an event for 20-30 minutes. That’s an exaggeration.

If their logs are anything like what I have worked with, they are probably logging key presses. I am positive as long as you didn’t stand in one spot for more then a few hours pressing the nothing but the “1” key you’ll be fine.

You know its funny. Everyone says this.

And yet all I have to do is go look at the Reddit thread that people were complaining about how they had “No ideaz” how they were banned, and a Anet employee totally shamed them by posting their obvious violations.

First, they never had a phone service that I ever heard of. Second, find out what your ticket number is, and simply post it in this thread once it hits 5 days of waiting.

They will get to you. Seriously guys, the customer service is actually very nice on these forums and game. I dont understand all the complaining TBH.

Botting IS bannable. Farming while AFK at an event IS bannable. They banned like 4000 bots just recently, so its not like they aren’t trying to resolve the issue.

People just think its “OK” to turn an auto attack weapon on, and farm an event while AFK for hours. But they will get banned eventually for it.

I made a post asking for clarification on what Anet considered botting. I simply asked;

So we have all seen them. They sit at events like bridges where there is a choke point, have an ability on autoattack, go AFK and just spam away while the event restarts, over and over. And I mean some of these folks are AFK for literally the whole day.

Is this botting or not? It would be nice to get an official response on this.

I think some sigils give your weapon flame effect, and you can use a lot of them at any level. It would be kinda a waste… but you “could”///
