There are a lot of good points being made here, FA does has a huge population and for their size they are well organized. Also they seem to be able to amass a good amount of players really quickly. I personally haven’t really fought DH that much, so I can’t comment on them. HoD’s population is suffering, but we got some new guild transfers in this past week. HoD also seems to have a problem with population, organization of the masses, following commanders (the right commanders, we do have some moronic commanders), and just generally long term, strategic thinking. HoD does have some very talented players though, I firmly believe HoD will get better.
Baladir, so I have to agree with Jonathan (as I was there last night and it was a blast) and Azaruil. You basically said that you want sPvP with some buildings and NPCs in there. More importantly I think you miss the whole idea behind WvWvW. It’s not just about running around mindlessly killing others, it’s about thinking beyond the point of your sword, it’s about a more in-depth strategy system, it’s about tactics, it’s about conquering, and it’s about working for a goal bigger than just one player’s personal gear (i’m sure others can add to that list). If you want to just run around a map and kill people because you don’t have any practice or ability to critically think and tactically plan, well then why are you complaining about WvWvW and not just playing sPvP? I love WvWvW far and beyond sPvP, reminds me of my days playing DAoC and WAR (Warhammer Online) and not the blind farce of the standard format of PvP.
Is beating on a wall or gate always fun, hell no; however, reaching that greater goal is far more rewarding than killing that other person over there for other reason than getting another piece of gear.
I have read over your 5 destructive ideas for destroying the fundamentals of WvWvW like 10 times so far and the only one that has any possibility of being even remotely helpful is number 5, but even as you have it, it would need a lot of changes.

Playing MMO’s sense the days of EQ, I see this complaint all the time from one class or another in almost every game with a PvP system (which most have now.) After thieves get nerfed then it will be Mesmers, then Elementalist, ect. It normally comes from players who are unable to figure out a way to either avoid being killed that fast or just have no control over their emotions over mundane problems. Leave thieves alone IMO, yes they one shot me ALL the time too, but I understand that is how they were designed and they only do that to me if they sneak up on me and I’m using my staff. If they don’t surprise and they catch me with my D/Ds on I own them about 60% of the time.

I agree with the gear is that subpar, as I stated I don’t have a complete grasp on the game and how different gear compares highend yet. I have only been playing for about a month now and I am still learning. I do have more experience in the playing of WvW and less in PvE (it’s a lot harder to find people to run highend PvE locations.) If the gear is that bad then, I say increase the scaling of the gear. I’d rather see better gear rather than easier gear.

An easy fix to this is that every server starts with their own orb, and the other teams can only capture the orb, but not receive benefits from that orb. This way no server could ever have more than 1 orb. This would still allow for a bonus but not a huge bonus; however, allow the other servers to recapture the orb and continue to be able to move it around too. I like the idea of having a orb bonus, I do believe that the orbs will keep the borderlands important to the overall WvW system. This idea would also reduce the impact of hackers/scum to the WvW gameplay system.

I don’t know if I completely agree with that. Badge gear as far as I can tell (haven’t been playing long, much less playing WvW) are meant to be almost like the elite gear for WvW. Elite gear should not be easily or quickly achieved, it should be earned. I do understand the annoyance of how long it takes to get any amount of badges to actually be able to purchase even 1 piece of gear. With the current dynamics of WvW (being that people spend more time taking strategic points instead of fighting each other) it can seem like it takes FOREVER to get anything from the badge gear. I wouldn’t mind seeing the rate drop from killing players and yes keep lords increased slightly, but to get some just from taking those SPs I think would degrade the value of the gear and take away from the achievement of actually being able to get some. It’s easy to get frustrated with how long it can take to achieve gear like that, but I think that it makes the gear more valuable on a personal level.
I understand the initial reaction to the res system and that it is bad for WvW; however, I find that I don’t mind the system, yes at times it can be annoying to see someone you spent all that work into killing get helped and up they are. The res system adds a new and interesting aspect to WvW (PvP). I have seen good size groups of players all killed because they tried to help res one downed player. Downed players are good bait for different AOEs.
In short keep the res system, some of the changes to the system wouldn’t hurt, but I still like the system as it is.
Dee Jay: The res system also helps the defenders and the res system doesn’t stop you from destroying any siege weapons. The res system would not have been why you lost that tower.
I’m having the same problem. If this is intended that sucks, because it makes the Mad Memoires: Complete Edition from Act 2 pointless (other than being purely ascetic) because I can put a good upgrade in my other back piece that has the same base states.

I have been reading things about botters also routing through other people’s IP addresses which could possibly give a false reading of botting. With that being said, I am not an expert on this situation and I feel for you. Being falsely accused of botting is horrible, I am sure that they will work with you better.
