Guild Wars 2

Just came back a few weeks ago, started over on a new character to get the feel of the game again and now I’m seeking to find an RP themed guild!
PvE/Dungeon/Group Event oriented preferably, PvP I wouldn’t mind getting involved in either.

I’d move to Tarnished Coast if I could, but with the cost as well as it being full all the time… >: (
I’m currently on Maguuma and I haven’t tried the Guesting feature yet, but would be willing to do so for another guild on a different server!

Just hit me up in PM’s about the style of the RP and things I need to know or that you need to know, and I’m fine with registering/applying for one if needed.

You guys sound quite interesting. I’ve been avidly looking for an RP guild on TC.

Though, I tried applying on the site and it was just stuck at the application screen, can’t get it past there.

There’s hardly any RP anyway. Been on TC for a while now and noticed only a handful (maybe 3-4 groups) of people doing RP. And seen maybe 1-2 guilds recruiting for heavy RP. Until they make an official RP server, RPers will be scattered across the game.

I actually see a lot of post against what you describe about TC. But regardless, there should be an official RP server as a haven for those that prefer to add that into their play style.

I’ve researched that Tarnished Coast is the current server where RP’ers reside. I’d like to get back into that aspect of MMORPGs, but the past several days it is consistantly full, so I’m stuck on Darkhaven.
And my work schedule doesn’t allow me to play EARLY early in the AM to have a chance to get on the server, so please don’t suggest that. -3-

Perhaps there’s another server that’s designated as an RP server? Or any word from Arenanet designating servers by normal to RP ones sometime in the future?

Yeah, I’ve noticed how OP that ability is in PvE and PvP with that stun when I was running that combo. It’s almost equal in damage to the Warrior’s GS #2 ability, but that one doesn’t have a stun so the target can move out. I would expect the stun to be taken out to equalize it or lower the damage.

I know this isn’t much of a bug, and the model/designs of weapons and armor sets are astounding in most cases in the amount of detail, art and originality put into them.

So why do both have to collide against one another so horridly?
Sure, there isn’t much of a problem with it on weapons that hang on your back, but for 1H weapons that hang on your hips, it’s severely annoying to me that I can’t see them except tips and edges of my daggers/pistols underneath my Thief’s Order of Whispers cloak. Where there are similar sets of armor and different that cause the same results.

I’m sure it’s a miniscule thing in comparison to a lot of other issues, but I and a lot of others would probably appreciate being able to see their weapons in a much better way than they are now to appreciate them when they’re on a non-combat stance.

Just a topic open discussion and to maybe hint at improving the topic from Anet.

I’m not sure what you’re on about with D3, didn’t really keep up with it after beating it a few times.

All I want is my issue to be resolved so I feel that my account is safe® from the hackers, but it feels like pulling teeth to get someone to understand the problem I’m having when it’s quite simple and even offered a solution to them on my last reply last week.

No. This game does not need mounts.
Flat out no. They’re redundant in how the traveling in GW2 is set up.

With all due respect, Gaile, I disagree how phone lines are inefficient.
As a consumer of your product, I’d rather speak to a live person than in emails, honestly.

I would think it’d actually help with the high volume you’ve been receiving as well. Why not have them as an option as well with the emails? Sure, lines might get pretty busy and people will complain about the wait time when it becomes high volume in there as well, but it’s one of two options to receive help.

Also, we tried phone support but found it was far less efficient for both the customer and the team. Tickets really are working, but volume can mean you wait a few days. We’re working on reducing the wait and have made big inroads. We can review if you include those tickets in the review thread.

Like I said, I don’t mind waiting and I understand the high volume you’ve been receiving. I just feel that my issue isn’t really being looked at when replied to and re-explained. A few days, a week, over a week, as long as I get a correct response instead of a wall of text that’s irrelevant each time then have to hope I won’t receive it again on the next reply.

Why would you want to talk on the phone with a person? Waiting on hold for 45 minutes and then finding out you can’t understand them. Email is fantastic in that you fire off your message real quick and you come back to a reply when its convenient for everyone.

Being ignored is different from their limited size team not getting to your ticket in an infinitely growing pile yet. They didn’t purposely find yours and put it in the garbage.

Why wouldn’t I understand them? Blizzard has a good bunch on their phones when I needed help with WoW issues. Being in the US, I’d expect Anet to have English speaking reps to assist individuals as well. I’ve never had to wait 45 minutes in a que line, sucks to be you if you had to. 10 minutes tops for me, and even then I don’t mind as I can understand in that line they get busy with others. It’s guarunteed I’ll get to talk to a living individual, explain the situation and converse over the problem instead of how my ticket has been handled now.

Sure, I can fire off my messages real quick. Then have to constantly re-explain it for over 3 weeks when I do get a response without ever getting a correct response to it to resolve.

I didn’t say any of that nor accuse them in that manner, it’s that it is just skimmed through, copy/pasted a fix that is irrelevant and then asked “Did this help you this time? If not, please reply back.”

We don’t need a WoW Death Knight equivalent in GW2.

If there were to be another Heavy class, I would expect it to be along the lines of a Paragon or similar.

I wouldn’t want them to call, as there wouldn’t be much I could do at work for my issue.

But I’ve had one since early release and only get walls of text that have nothing to do with my ticket. I was understanding and patient at first, but with your tickets being bounced around to different GMs who only skim the issue that’s been thoroughly explained constantly and repeatedly, it’s poor customer service.

They need to have a technical support line, as I wouldn’t mind waiting 15-25 minutes in a que line if they were backed up on calls instead of how things are now.

I’ve grown tired of walking into an area where you see a horde of people standing around, spamming their #1 just to gain free Karma/experience/Silver.

To me, it is borderline of an exploit. As well as a problem with lag when I’m within their vicinity.
Areas that I’ve seen this is defending walls and camping spawn points for champions/veterans exclusive to events.

I would think this is a borderline exploit, as they’re getting free rewards as well as racking up the difficulty for those that are actually participating in the event.

I don’t see why there isn’t an option to preview Armor and Weapons while browsing the Trading Post.

Yeah, it’s a miniscule feature, but I’d also like to see what I’m contemplating purchasing beforehand as well.
Either it be a skin that I haven’t seen yet and would like to buy just to transmog into my current weapon/armor pieces, or because I’m daydreaming the day I can afford an entire set that’s within reach but too expensive for my budget at the moment.

For me it was the most boring thing I’ve ever experienced in gaming. Ever.

It was like the dungeon was deliberately over-simplified, too easy and padded so much that Darksiders 2’s fractal padding seems like a quick runby. The whole thing was a bug-filled waste of time and the ending was so anti-climactic that I almost fell asleep in my chair. They didn’t even add sound effects or anything at all to hide how boring it is to have 5 people bashing “1” for several minutes before some lump of playdough falls down after dying of old age.

Given a new release, all the bugs were to be expected.
I wouldn’t bash the whole encounter like you did, I think it was great. Just not the actual fight with Zhaitan. More could’ve been done with it than just spamming a single button.

I’m at a loss what to say then, as well as others lol. There’s no scam in inviting you repeatedly, just harassment. If he wanted to give you a link to a website or advertise like the other hackers, he could’ve done it through mail or whispers, as many have done that to me that way and have been reported.

I just want to say wow. Guild Wars 2 was beyond worth waiting for. Absolutely loved the first when I was a kid playing Prophecies, was blown away by the stories and the content I’m still downing and aiming towards.

Just one thing was a let down for me amongst all the greatness;
Killing Zhaitan.

Lorewise, the encounter is amazing. I absolutely loved the whole fight as you defended the bridge while they charged the cannon to shoot Zhaitan.
But really…all we have to do at the end is shoot a cannon for 5 minutes, spamming our 2 key? His minions are 100x harder to kill in comparison to that. He literally just sits there and takes it while our fingers go numb, lol.

I’m not bashing you guys at all, looking at it lorewise the fight is amazing. But I was expecting/hoping for a hand-to-hand situation with the dragon. If not that, then more mechanics to the encounter to present a sense of challenge and fun.
The only challenge in the whole area to me was shooting down the lesser dragons and trying to keep up with the swarms of mobs on the ship that came at the same time.

I hope with the next encounter we have with an Elder Dragon, it will be in that way and if not, an equivalent to make up for how easy Zhaitan was to slay. I would think this is what a fight with an Elder Dragon should be like;

No, I’m not asking for a copy/paste of this encounter. This is just a given idea to what I and probably a lot of others expected in a sense, regardless how monstrous Zhaitan really is or any of the other Elder Dragons.

Again, amazing job on this game. Well worth the money I spent on the CE and expect more epic lore, encounters and content in the future.

Kind of an odd event. I’d think they only got your name from attempts at hacking your account or email in some form. No idea about the whole party invite thing.

And if it were from your ticket, I’d think a GM would have better grammar than that in any case.

Have you reported them for harassment before posting this thread?

At this moment, no there isn’t a refund for Karma points to my knowledge and double checked just now.
I’d say submit a ticket for it instead of a forum post.

Not really sure if they will or not, I would think so if it wasn’t too much work to refund.

I have a similar situation as you. Just made a forum post about it and posted in the 5 day or older thread, hopefully we both get them resolved soon.

I would say delete it and notify them anyways that it happened.

It didn’t sound like you were accusing Anet of that to me, you were just being honest and open.

A response to either tickets would be nice, please, as I’ve waited almost a month now for the resolution and assurance that my account can and will be safe.

Okay, I know Anet is bombarded with tickets and dealing with exploits, bugs, everything that comes on a silver platter with a new release. It’s understandable.

But I’ve been having to re-explain my ticket from last month constantly after waiting days between replies to different GMs who just skim it and copy/paste a wall of text that has nothing to do with my ticket. I was understanding and patient at first and had a few good ones that helped me out with the first bit of my problem, but really I’m getting annoyed now since there’s no use constantly repeating my situation in a ticket only to be pretty much ignored then hope that someone actually will read and understand my problem.

Would you please get a technical support number so I can have one individual understand my problem and help me through it instead of this happening and still being unresolved after a month? I’m sure there are others that feel the same way where they wouldn’t mind waiting a little while on a phoneline que to make sure they get their problem resolve and if not, understand what’s going on.
And for Anet also, it’s easier just to deal with tickets, but when it comes to being ignored like I have been, really there is no pro to it.
