I have a max level engineer and warrior but opted out of the class it doesnt give me the “feel”. But both ranger and necro were really good Since i keep hearing that meta influences PVP alot wanted to pick a safer class that stays in the meta most of the time atleast comparatively between ranger/druid and necro/reaper
Hi every 1,
After playing the game for a bit now, and trying out the HoT content (on my ranger/druid and a necro @ 50) I have come to conclusion that i love playing builds that are around condition damage in general.
My favorite mode of game play is PVP and I would want to invest majority of my time into it, but i would also love doing WvW (roaming with a partner or 2, no solo). I would also do some PVE, but by no means my main source of time sink.
Which profession between Ranger / Druid and Necro / Reaper do u guys think would fit my requirements the best? (basically a safer bet when it comes to mainly PvP and WvW in roaming with a small group.)
After considering your valuable suggestions and read a lot of threads i concluded that it would be best to play one of the 3 profs, strictly based on the fact that Condi damage is better to play with latency , but the arguments against them are as listed below :-
1. Engineer (Pulling of their combos will be hard, and alot of ground targetting skills).
2. Ranger (Fewer Condi builds compared to the other 2).
3. Necro (Since they got only 2 dodges , dodging becomes very important, and with latency is challenging to time dodges).
Thank you guys again for all the responses
So which professions have more bunker / condition damage variations, as i would prefer to pick a profession that i have at least few builds to swap, because if the meta changes i shouldn’t be sitting out as i was over relying on that one specific build.
Strictly from a competitive pvp perspective.
Thank you for the all answers everybody. @MAN @Silverkey.
ty for the response @Kharr.
So what would u recommend the most in terms of multiple builds (condi / moderately tanky builds) in regards to a whole class (class mechanics) , necro ? engi ? ranger ? considering the new specialisation too.
Also i have no clue about how the new elite profession and their mechanics interact with latency coz there are no threads i could find when i did a bit of a research on that. any explanation on that would also be greatly appreciated
Thank you again
Hello gw2 players,
Im back to playing on my gw2 after a long break and i am looking for a class to pick and play more seriously. But i am planning to do a lot of spvp, tpvp and wvw (roaming or small groups) mainly and i am looking for a suggestion as i lack exp in the game and its mechanics and how it interacts with latency.
I have unavoidable latency around 140- 190ms , and i know that latency affects pvp horribly. But with which class (not just one niche build) do u think, i would have the most success in a latency mentioned above.
From what i have read so far i have seen , Engi (combos being hard), Ranger (melee … ? and only few conditions builds) and Necro (dodging super important coz lack of defensive options) being the best options.
Thanks in advance for taking your valuable time out to read and reply
Thx for the bump recently started playing necro and i was kinda getting bored with the condi build …… this build is amazing maybe the changes triggered it but its amazing thx alot !!!! keep it updated if u can thx again
…. btw i mainly spvp.
Shameless bump!
ty for the responses so far, more input is welcome ….. waiting
ty jota…. but what do u think of engi and dw pistol thief compared to ranger!
Bump, pls help needed ……
Hi guys,
I am actually torn between profession choices and cannot convince myself to pick
one. But i wanted to know to what extent will latency affect each of
these classes and which class can I play to its best with the latency I
have atm.
Btw I play with a latency of 150-250 ms averaging 200ms.(this
is after using both leatrix and wtfast). My physical location is quiet far from the server anyway :P
“I know latency has its toll on PVP” but I would like expert opinions on the technical and gameplay aspects of professions
in order to pick a profession i can relatively have most success in a competitive level of pvp in gw2.
I have always loved playing physical damage classes and I know with latency melee damage professions are just not possible to play because staying on target would be a nightmare.
So im ready to play a ranged class but prefer it to be more of a physical damage class!
As of now the classes that appeal to me most are :- The adventurer profession all 3 of them as ranged
1. Ranger (purely ranged)
2. Thief (purely ranged)
3. Engineer
and i have also heard of the warrior rifle and bow build even though i am not a big lover of plate wearing class. If u guys do think there are other classes pls do mention those too but as i said before i lean towards physical damage classes :P
So what do u guys think would be the best pick in relation to “latency and profession play style”.
Thank you all for your time reading and your valuable suggestions.
