Dyeable Backpacks

I know this topic has been discussed before, but I feel as if I need to address it again (maybe because it affects myself).

Making backpacks inherently dyeable isn’t what I’d call a necessary addition, but when I think about glider backpack combos I have to wonder why they make the glider version dyeable, but not the backpack.

I guess I can understand why certain things aren’t dyeable for example the black wing and white wing feather backpacks. It would kind of defeat the purpose of having a black and white version if they were dyeable. I guess the one question would be how difficult would it be for certain backpack/gilder combos to be allowed to be matched with their customized dyes?

We in The Twilight Rose have only just begun our journey in the world of Guild Wars 2. We are currently aimed at securing ourselves a guild hall at the moment, but plan on hosting events, tournaments, and raids as soon as we acquire a foothold within the world.

This can only happen with more recruits. I come here today to ask anyone willing and able.

We are looking for anyone and everyone who is looking for a new guild and that will be willing to put their time in a make the world of Guild Wars 2 a better place.

We currently have an operation Discord Server (For those who were interested).

Please feel free to contact me here or in game at Cyion Deland.

Maybe my dreams of Grandeur have littler basis in reality, but the only way these dreams can be a reality is with your help.

-Sincerely
The Twilight Rose’s Leader

Okay I appreciate both of you and the information you provided, this clears up a lot of my own personal confusion on the subject.

So with that in mind, Do you think that armor skins should have their weight restrictions removed or no?

Not likely. There is much involved in the creation of armor pieces.

And…I was not aware that Outfits had weight restrictions. Are you sure you are not confusing Outfits with Armor pieces sold in the Gem Store?

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Outfit

Well you see I was referring to the outfits bought in the store, but this could apply to any armor really, because once you acquire a piece of armor you unlock the outfit for it. The outfit then can only be used for your class armor (Necro=Light, Engineer=Medium, Revenant=Heavy, and Etc) when provided with the necessary amount of transmutation charges.

For example I mistakenly bought a Medium Magitech set from the store, with the thought in mind; since it didn’t affect actual gameplay there would be no problem with me equipping it onto my character as a purely cosmetic set (also being able to preview kind of gave me a misconception as well). Sadly this is not the case certain outfits in the store labeled (Light, Medium, and Heavy) still reflect upon their armor restrictions while not affecting actual gameplay, while certain other outfits (to my knowledge) like the chef’s outfit do not have restrictions.

3. Another question for the interested party out there.
-Will there be competitions in the future (if there is any now) for designing or providing ideas for future outfits/costumes?

1. Great to hear some feedback. Yes I must’ve been missing the red text warning, but I’m glad you agree that a confirmation option wouldn’t be a bad addition.

2. I’m glad you answered this one as well. I was curious as to the reason(s) behind this so this definitely clears up some confusion. Also I appreciate that I am not the only one who feels that cosmetics shouldn’t be limited to certain areas.

Thanks for your answers and I’ll be glad to see more in the future.

So folks I’m here today to disuss my thoughts on the current wardrobe, I mean this is the discussion forum is it not? Well first off before I begin I’d like to address the staff of GW2, Please do not take anything I say as a personal attack against what you’ve done or the decisions you’ve made. I’m sure you have your very well thought out reasons for why things are done the way they are now, and that is why I am here to discuss those reasons with the community you so greatly support. Now without further adeu let’s begin.

1. Should there be a more defining warning within the Lion Guard Trading shop about outfits that can and cannot be worn for you current character? Like before you purchase, “This item will not be usable on your current character.” This would solve the problem of people accidentally buying outfits that might look really fancy or cool, without them realizing there are armor restrictions on certain outfits.

2. Should the wardrobe function as a full cosmetic/vanity option, meaning…should armor restrictions be removed on outfits since they already have no effect on actual gameplay?

These are just some initial questions to ponder friends.
Remember we the community have a voice, so use it, speak up, and let your voices be heard.

If you have a question? Ask it.
If you potentially know the answer? Say it.

And who knows? Maybe even our voices could change the GW2 world!

Thank you everyone for your time, and I will try and continue to post more questions and answers as they come in.

Sincerely,
The Twilight Rose
Guild Leader
