Since I have gotten ZERO help from the either forum, guess I will have to uninstall the game. Enjoy playing, but crashing every 5-15mins is getting on my last kitten ed nerve.
Display 1: ASUS VG248 144hz 24" 1920×1080 LCD
Display 2: Philips 47PFL5704D/F7 47" 1080p 120hz HDTVI see two different refresh rates at the same time. Maybe a bug in GW2 doesn’t like it or your graphics card doesn’t like it.
Try running GW2 with one monitor or the other instead of both at the same time.
I have been running dual display for almost a decade. I never had any issues in the past running dual display with GW2. Also, while the monitor is 144hz, I am using a program called Strobelight that basicly allows me to “hack” my monitor, allowing me to use 3D Lightboost in 2D mode, which basicly eliminates motion blur. To do this, it has to run at 120Hz.
Yes, I said the driver is crashing. OBVIOUSLY it is the driver. But GUILD WARS is the cause. IT is doing something to cause the driver to fail. NOTHING ELSE I USE causes it, except Guild Wars 2.
There is not a huge number of players reporting this type of failure (which would be the case if GW2 was CAUSING driver crashes). Your assumption is based on your limited information and (IMO) is just a wrong one.
If you roll back the driver, do you get the failure?
My point is the assumption that this is definately a driver / software issue might be premature and incorrect. Hardware failures CAN cause drivers to need to recover as well. So can corrupt DLL file libraries.
Have you checked your event log for errors that might just lead to the REAL problem here?
Look at what I said above. This is G U I L D W A R S 2 causing the driver to crash. I have many games on my system, NONE OF WHICH CAUSE THIS ISSUE. I have lots of media software, and other apps (emulators, etc), none of which cause this issue. I updated my driver LAST NIGHT, and have had ZERO ISSUES with any other piece of software, except Guild Wars 2. On the previous version of the driver I used (336.??), likewise, no issues, but Guild Wars 2 would crash the driver. If this was a hardware issue, I would be getting crashes from other software as well. And I don’t need to roll back. Last night I was on 336, which was working 120% for EVERYTHING except Guild Wars 2. I updated to the latest driver hoping it would solve this issue, and the issue persists.

Guild Wars 2 crashes my nVidia drivers ever 5-15 minutes. I will be playing the game, and all of a sudden, the display will basicly go to 8-bit technicolor rainbow, with white squares interspersed around the display for about 6-10 seconds, then go to a black screen for a couple more seconds, then the game will come back up.
I sat around, trying for like a half an hour to try to get a shot with my cell, but got frustrated and gave up.
This is the only program, game, etc I have/use that does this. World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Diablo 3 don’t do it. No other programs I use do it. I just updated my graphics drivers last night. Before that, I was running nVidia driver 336 something. Now I am up to date (344.48). The crashing issue happened on both drivers. Here is my hardware:
Display 1: ASUS VG248 144hz 24" 1920×1080 LCD
Display 2: Philips 47PFL5704D/F7 47" 1080p 120hz HDTV
Mobo: ASUS P8Z77-V
CPU: Intel Core i7 2700K OCed @ 4.5Ghz
Memory: 16GB (4×4GB) Kingston HyperX DDR3 2133Mhz
GPU: MSI Geforce 570 GTX Twin Frozr II
HDD: 2x 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 in RAID0
Had this issue 2 hours ago in AC, and now as well. I was able to enter AC once (story mode), but when several members of the party said they could not enter, I exited. I could not get back in. I even logged out, and completely restarted the client. Didnt help. So I logged out for an hour or 2. Logged back in, and same thing happened. Went in once, got in. Left, cant get back in.
Edit: Its been about 11 minutes since I posted. Without logging out, I ran over to Caudecus’s Manor, to see if it would let me in at all, or if I would have the same issue. I was able to enter CM, exit, and reenter several times.
