I should hit level 80 in the next day or two. I mainly want to play wvw. I’m not interested in spending a lot of time and effort to get the best looking gear. I just want adequate stats. I assume that exotic gear will work for this. Is it worth it to level my armorsmithing and weaponsmithing to get exotic gear or should I grind badges, karma, etc..
I’m considering a eviscerate build with sword/x offhand for mobility, or a condition sword build. Are either of these viable for WvW?
Maybe I should have clarified. My warrior is level ten, I don’t know the class well. I need some basic info on a build to start practicing with. I’m thinking axe/mace, axe shield, or axe/axe for one weapon set to eviscerate. It seems like the bleeds from sword main hand would be too easily cleansed.
Debating mostly about whether the other weapon should be hammer, gs, or rifle.
A few utilities skill suggestions would be good.
Im new to GW2. Leveling necro for my first character. Mainly I want to do hot join pvp and later WvW. Can someone help me out with the standard condition build? I have read that dhuumfire condi is good. Are the too builds the same?
Is there a viable firearms build for pvp? I normally play hot join and some WvW. I’m still learning the game and need to improve. I would like to get some input on a viable build to practice with.
Grenades look fun but the targeting makes it difficult to mouse turn and it seems only viable against large groups. Can you actually kill anyone one on one with a Grenade build?
I’d prefer a balanced build based on firearms of some sort with utilities for support. Speed boosts, and some stun breaks or cleanses would be nice. Something that has a decent balance of offense and defense. Any suggestions?
I play a lot of hot join pvp. I’m not a grenade fan. Looking for an alternative. Is the Eg with Hgh viable? which traits are the most important?
Some friends and I are having a 1v1 tourney for bragging rights. I know there will be a lot of guardians and necros. How does the warrior stack up against Guardians in duels? I believe the best guardian player that will be there is using a triple meditation build. Any suggested builds for this event?
Looking at trying a build with some regen from precision, using Vampiric Precision and Reapers Precision, and possibly sigil of blood. Anyone try this?
I may try a MM build for this event. Has the current “standard MM build” changed much from the video posted by Nemesis in the sticky?
How does a MM build stack up against Necro Power builds?
I am going to compete in a 1v1 dueling tourney next month with some friends. The field is guardian and necro heavy, with a mix of others. Any suggestions on which type of build I should look at? I’m not a great pvp player, but we do this every month for fun. I am not very good with grenades and a bomb build doesn’t work well against ranged opponents. Suggestions appreciated.
If you had to pick the top three toughest opponents you have to face in 1v1 pvp with your necro what would they be?
I’m not very familiar with guardians in pvp. If you had to pick the toughest three professions for you to face 1v1 what would they be?

I am fairly new to gw2. I have an engineer, ranger, necros, and guardian. I would consider starting a mesmerized. Is one of these classes going to have an advantage in this environment?
I am just starting this game. I want to do hot join pvp for the most part, and eventually WvW when I reach 80. I have played most professions through level 15 or so. I want a profession that is
1.) Durable/Survivable with medium damage. This could be through regen, healing, boons, armor, whatever. I was hoping I could outlast my opponents by draining their life and gaining health.
2.) I would prefer to fight at range, not in melee. I’m fine with going into DS when needed but want a ranged option for at least one weapon set.
Most of the tanky builds I find are dagger or axe based. Can I do both ranged combat and have a tough necro, or should I be looking at another profession? There is ton of information out there, and I could use some tips on narrowing my search.

That’s the build I was looking for. Thank you.
I read a sticky at the top of the page with different pvp specs listed. It described a symbol fps build, but didn’t include the traits. I’m new to guardians and want to try it in a hot join match or two to get a feel for the class at 80. Does anyone have suggestions for traits etc?
I’m just getting started with GW2. I am trying to decide which profession I want to level to 80. I have played most classes to at least level ten and a few to 20. Elementalist seems to be much more difficult to level. I can take on multiple mobs 2 levels above me with a guardian, warrior, and ranger easily just mashing buttons. I can do the same thing with Necro and engineer with a little work. Mesmer and Ele seem to be much squishier. I expected this to a certain degree as they have lower armor etc.. Does it get better as I get to higher levels? Are the classes fairly well balanced at 80?
I mainly want to do sPvP and WvW when done. I am leveling to get familiar with everything a class has to offer and to get some gear for WvW. I would prefer a profession with good balance of ranged damage and survivability when traited. I have played few hot join PvP games with a few classes. I found this didn’t give me a lot of information, as I didn’t know the classes/game well enough to do well.
Wow.. clear, to the point advice. Including links 2 example products . thank you very much exactly what I needed .
I am out of town frequently for work. I am buying a laptop to take on the road. I probably cant afford a laptop that will allow me to play WvW, but I would like to be able to level chars, use the trading house etc.. while out of town. Goal is $600 or less. No idea if that’s feasible. I’ve never owned a laptop.
What are the minimum specs I can do this with? I’m fine with 30 fps leveling with dips into the teens for events.
From what I gather in another post, I’m better off to stick with an Intel Chip. Can I get by with an I5, and 8 g Ram, with integrated video? Which video processors should I look into?
I don’t have a brand preference as long as its a reliable laptop. I will look into some of the brands and gpu’s sugested. Has anyone had experience with MSI?
I realize that a desktop is cheaper and will perform better. I have to buy a laptop for work. I was hoping to spend a little more on the laptop, and be able to use it for gw2 when out if town etc.. running minimum graphics settings. If that’s not possible ill buy a cheap laptop and a desktop. I won’t be able to play when traveling.
I am purchasing my first laptop in the next couple months. I want to play gw2 on it with decent fps in WvW. I realize that the specs on this are much higher than the mimiums listed, but I don’t know how well the integrated graphics card compares with a dedicated gpu. Assume my internet connection etc is up to speed, will this laptop run GW2 on the lowest graphics setting?
If not, can anyone reccomend something under $800?
I liked the Necro for the most part but they are slow.
I am brand new to GW. I played a lot of pvp in WOW. I have tried several characters up to level ten or so and tried to jump into a few hot joins after reading up on builds and gear, but I am still pretty clueless. I think I almost need to duel or go one one v one for a while to get the hang of everything. I don’t want to level multiple characters to cap to figure out what I want to pvp with. Is there a profession that is more straightforward than the others?
In terms of play I like professions that have some good movement perks, decent damage, and some survivability. In WoW, I paladin, druid, warlock the most. All have some healing, some damage, and some survivability.
I liked Necro in PVE but I’m not sure I’m up to managing a ton of conditions without a lot more experience. I think I need a more direct damage class until I have some experience with the game.
I tried engineer, but don’t like all the click targeting for grenades.
Guardian was ok. I’m considering Ranger, warrior, or thief. Any help on picking one of these to level fully and learn the game mechanics. Tips on where to practice skills for pvp would also be helpful.
Thanks
