Small Guilds, stop complaining about GHls

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I get it Guild Halls are ridiculously expensive and almost impossible for small guilds to obtain and upgrade.

That was the point from the very start. People knew it was gonna be expensive so why all the complaining?

Guild halls are suppose to be meant mainly for large guilds. Why? Incentive.
Let’s be honest in a large guild, if a person gets kicked not many people are gonna care. If its a higher up or an officer there may be some drama but people get over it. If its someone of the lower ranks the people kicking and many of the other members wouldn’t really care. This is the downside of a large guild who don’t have the emotional/personal incentive of a small guild.

Smaller guilds are a tightly knit unit that have grown strong bonds as they have grown attached to the other members as there only a few so its easy to know everyone and be friends with them. And you could have a fully upgraded guild too if you pulled enough money which was not hard to earn pre-HoT. So why join a large guild when you can be a small guild with your close friends? Benefits from the large guilds.

Large Guilds have numbers and vast amount of resources to back up their large numbers/presence. With the old guild system the incentive of repping and earning influence for large guilds meant 24 hour buffs like exp, karma, harvesting, wvw upgrades, etc. But even small guilds could accomplish this feat pretty easily if they earned enough and farmed things and did events together which they most likely did as they would do everything together.

With the new guild system the only way to keep members from constantly leaving (or at least to constantly recruit to fill those that left) is the guild hall and its various upgrades. So of course large guild will get those upgrades and flesh out their guild hall easier and faster than the small guilds.

If you really want a fully upgraded guild hall and those buffs and stuff, merge into a big guild. If you don’t like them or how they conduct things, leave. Otherwise don’t complain about a system that was clearly intended from the very beginning to benefit to large guilds hold their communities together. Guild Halls are suppose to represent the effort of hundreds of players and their dedication to the guild as a whole.

tl;dr GH meant for large guilds not for small guilds

Bag of Mortar is supposed to be avaliable from the master scribe but isnt

I like how the ceramic planter needs a Basic Finishing Kit (tier 2) to make and the its used to make an item needing a Simple Finishing Kit (tier 1) ie: the potted plants

There is no way to discover/learn the recipe for RESONATING FRAGMENTS, crafted form resonating slivers. This is BLOCKING PROGRESS on the scribe profession as we cannot level without because we need the fragments to make basic finishing kits.

When i hit level 75 scribe, the Basic Finishing Kit calls for Resonating Fragments which can only be obtained by scribes crafting them from resonating slivers

However there is no recipe that was automatically learned when i hit level 75 or 100 scribe

There is no option to discover the recipe through the discover tab either.

Market NPC's association /w Wizard's Tower!

in Lore

Pandgami.6745

So my guild has unlocked the workshop so the remaining proprietors showed up at the tavern. I was looking into their backgrounds when I saw that Brine Clutchall, the market proprietor said he had once set up a shop in Garenhoff (the town near the wizard’s tower) and overcharged a person named Isgarren. THE SUPPOSED WIZARD LIVING INSIDE THE TOWER.

Does this mean he’s real? Was it someone impersonating Isgarren? Well Brine did say he needed protection from this Isgarren, so Isgarren must be powerful or have some power of influence. We’ll probably find out more as we upgrade the guild hall.

Scribe Crafting (Vial of Linseed Oil) Bug

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Pandgami.6745

The Simple finishing kit requires vials of linseed oil but the UI lets you see what vial of linseed oil is made of and that you can “craft” it but the scribe does not know the base recpie of creating linseed oil so you create nothing. Luckily this does not use your materials but idk if this is a bug and wether the scribe can craft linseed oil or not

Scribe and what you need

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Pandgami.6745

Pandgami.6745

So what you need basically for Scribe is a plethora of items!

This includes most tiers of Wood, Leather, Cloth and lots of other things!
Like Resonating Shards from Guild Missions, Corase Sand form Silky Sand, and lots Flax Fibers!

Most interesting (and difficult to get) is that you need Crystalline ORE! Which is account bound but can be acquired in Dragon’s Stand, one of the new HoT maps. Yes. I said Crystalline ORE.

To turn this into ingots however you need Fugulite which is made by (what i believe to be crafted from) level 500 Tailor, Leatherworkers, and Armorsmiths.

Fugulite is made from:

Bottles of Airship Oil (ascended mat from Verdant Brink by opening airship cargo using crowbars)

Auric dust (ascended mat from Auric Basin, specifally from chests, that require exhalted keys, under the city after the meta event to either defend/take the city from mordrem)

Ley Line Sparks (from Tangled Depths by opening chak chests using chak acid that is bought from the Nuhoch)

Players uses Crystalline Ore to buy basic decorations for the guild hall which then can be upgraded which GREATLY LEVELS Scribe up! BUT IT COULD ALSO BE FOR LEGENDARY ARMOR SO WHO REALLY KNOWS!?!

EDIT:
ORE IS USED TO BUY DECORATIONS!
INGOTS IS FOR WHO KNOWS WHAT!

Updates:
To buy basic guild hall decorations used to level up scribe you need crystalline ore and the Market of your guild hall! after you’ve obtained the market you need an upgrade called Decoration Merchant 1 to buy basic decorations to upgrade to level up scribe

Get to grinding my pretties….

Guild Hall Dungeon-Specific Decorations!

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Pandgami.6745

Pandgami.6745

So I had proposed in the Economy Thread (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/Economy-Questions-Repost/) that instead of not just removing gold and incentive from dungeons, we instead add in rewards through a different means, in this case aesthetics.

Removing gold is obviously gonna turn people off from dungeons so why don;t we add in Dungeon-Specific Guild Hall Decorations as well? Like using the tokens to buy the gifts and offerings from the dungeon vendor and then use that in the Scribe Crafting profession to craft:

AC- An Ascalonian Statue/Graveling Boss Trophy
CM- A minitaure of the Caudecues Manor
TA-A sapling or seed of The Nightmare Tree/ A Mini Aether AirShip
SE-A Destroyer Trophy/Dredge Mining Machines
CoF-An Inactive Effigy/Fire Legion Molten Chains Ceiling Decorations
CoE-Subject Alpha’s broken Containment Cell/Inquest Golems
HotW-Kodan Warbanners or Flags/Icebrood Trophies
Arah-Zhaitan’s Horn/Snake Tounge Things/Lupi’s Staff or whatever it is

Don’t deincetives dungeons if all you wanna do is reduce the gold that people can receive from it, rather turn the loss of rewards into something else!

Add more ideas if you want!

Economy Questions Repost

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Pandgami.6745

Pandgami.6745

As an economist to subtract rewards and deincentize dungeons is a simple solution, that obviously a lot of people dislike.

What I would prefer to see is that the developers somehow come up with a solution as to keep the dungeons alive and relevant to those that love this part of the game.

Some ideas I brainedstorm was maybe add more EXP to the rewards, this will make new players who are not level 80 be more likely do more dungeons as they will hear it’s good exp and help old and level 80 players earn EXP towards their masteries. (Obviously for the Central Tyria Masteries)

Another idea is instead of adding more loot or certain materials (as that might also effect the economy) add in more tokens while reducing the chance to salvage items from dungeon gear. I’m pretty sure is that if we increased tokens people would buy more dungeon gear and than salvage for mats thereby shifting the economy but instead if we reduce the amount of mats you salvage from token bought gear the mats would not be very affected in value.

In the case for making feel like you earned the tokens to craft legendaries you could just up the amount of tokens you are required to purchase dungeon gifts to craft legendaries.

You could also have a daily lockout of gold from dungeons like only 5 gold a day or something like that

My last idea is provide maybe more aesthetic rewards, and no i mean beyond just the dungeon armor and weapons. Like you need dungeon tokens to buy the gifts and offerings of the dungeons to craft Dungeon Guild Hall items like maybe an Ascalonian Statue ,or a Subject Alpha’s Broken Containment Cell, or maybe a Piece of Zhaitan’s Horn or one off his undead tounge snake things. I personally would want a Sapling/Seed of the Nightmare Tree.

The main point is to not just abandon Dungeons but instead make them better, maybe not as good or better compared to Raids and Fractals but in order to pay tribute to those that love playing Dungeons and those loyal to our game.

Suggestion : Add more collections

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Pandgami.6745

Pandgami.6745

I know this has been already suggested but I would like to see a Collection Achievement Implemented for collecting all of the Conjured Elementalist Weapons like Mjolnir, Volcanus, Wintersbite, Wintersbark, Cragstone, and Titan’s Vengence.

I mean there is already a Spirit Weapon collection (which I completed) so I would like there to be a achievement for the Elementalist weapons as well.

Preferably I would like a title like “Conjurer” but a cool back skin or nothing at all is fine. I just want to be rewarded for my hard effort and work is all.

Enchanted Booster not activatable in HotM

Idk if its a bug or not but I would like to use my Enchanted Reward Boosters to select the NEW EXP Booster, which currently we’re not allowed to do while in Heart of the Mists, to progress my reward track

I mean if you’re gonna add the new exp booster to the list it would make sense to be able to use it in HotM too.

Gold Vs Silver Boss Blitz

in Festival of the Four Winds

Posted by: Pandgami.6745

Pandgami.6745

The point of this thread is to spread awareness of what it means to participate in the Boss Blitz.

A few days ago a problem has been brought to my attention concerning the Boss Blitz.

The Situation: 5 bosses are ready to “burn”, or be killed to those who are unfamiliar with the term and they are waiting on the last boss to ready up. Time is ticking down and then people keep spamming “burn” in chat. I understand that trolls will do this but in this situation, Commanders and Boss Leaders are calling the burn even though the last group is still not ready, and they’re not trolling.

This brought up a whole argument of whether or not players should burn before the gold timer runs out.

“I guess this will always be a s*** silver map. Have fun in Permasilver f***tards.”

This event has “…challenges …[that] have been restructured to require more coordination and teamwork than ever before!”

This requires many people to be organized and work together. This is one of the few times that organization in PvE requires almost WvW organizing, almost.

Completing the event in Gold does yield better rewards but it is not worth the potential risk of earning Bronze. When a boss dies, their abilities are sent to the next boss, which might give them enough power to wipe out the assigned team or group.

Another point against the Reward argument , is that there is a whole month left to earn festival tokens for the rewards.

What are your thoughts this argument?
