Yes, this is in line with my personal experience.
Thank you.
GW2 gave me countless opportunities to be amazed. Positive and negative ones. This is a negative one. I’ll never, never, understand why it’s one way only, and I doubt the reasoning behind it can be explained in a plausible way.
Legendary Guardian is per character. Sorry, Alga
I am.
[Adding text because message length must at least be 15]
When I block someone, can they still read my messages in map chat? If so, why?
I’m having a daily quiz show in Lion’s Arch (German language), and sometimes there’s people who troll you and shower you with expletives. I block the worst cases. Still, they seem to answer my questions even after I blocked them, because it happened several times that I announced the first correct answerer and people post that the blocked person delivered the correct answer even before! How can that be when I blocked them? Why are they still able to read my messages?
Is there something I don’t know? Some secrets to blocking I should be aware of?
Is it possible to have one’s GW2 account deleted (because it’s starting to become an addiction) while keeping one’s GW1 account (never was an addiction)?
They’re connected.
I guess it’s not possible, and it’s either both or none, right?
I wanted to make a guild called “Normandy [SSV]” and, after getting the message the name’s already in use, I tried “S S V Normandy [ME]” but this one’s been taken as well.
Now I’m searching for those guilds. Does a helpful member here in the forum maybe know one of their members (search doesn’t provide me with any results) so I could join?
Nice to see another mesmer with an underwater legendary, Absconditus! We’re rare but we exist, right? I have Kraitkin — my Yvaine is on page 30 of this thread
Quote from Guildwiki:
The Guild Wars were a series of military conflicts between the human kingdoms of the northern continent between 1013 and 1070 AE. When considered separately, they are known as the First, Second, and Third Guild Wars.
These Guild Wars were the reason the whole game was called Guild Wars. ANet didn’t communicate this very well, I would agree on that. But the game got its name from those Guild Wars. It’s even in GW2 — when you do the mission where the Pale Tree sends Trahearne and you into a vision of Orr, Trahearne talks of the Guild Wars right at the beginning of the mission.
First-person view, just like in GW1. I need that.
Other than that, I miss Cantha.
Of my 24 characters, many have a “fairytale” look to them — I have wizards, princesses, queens, “love goddesses”, alchemists, and so much more. Yvaine De Winter is the most beautiful of all my 24 though, in my opinion, but you can’t really debate taste.
She’s the quizmaster of Divinity Reach’s daily 9 pm trivia show, and she is my main character. A mesmer, to be precise.
Yes, but as I said, keep in mind Arabic (like Hebrew) is right-to-left and requires a lot more than a simple addition to the “allowed characters” table.
Adding support for Arabic would entail support for right-to-left text. No idea whether that’s possible, given the often surprising limitations and obstacles of ArenaNet’s game engine. Should they be able to add right-to-left text, they should add Hebrew as well, by the way. There’s quite a few Israeli players in-game.
anzenketh, you didn’t get the joke

I have 24 characters, and only about 15 of them are level 80. I’m currently leveling the rest, and three are still at level 2 and have the whole journey ahead of them.
How I currently feel:
- What was unconditionally mine before is suddenly taken away from me and given back to me as a “reward”, level by level. It’s like someone enters your room, grabs an item from your cupboard, wraps it nicely and hands it to you as a “present”. I already had it, no thanks, I don’t need it handed to me like this.
- Moreover, I suddenly feel like a toddler. Despite me having a lot of level-80 characters, they suddenly take my hand, declare me incapable of finding my way through Tyria and the game mechanics, and guide me along. Every time this level-up window opens and I get my “rewards” I feel like being punched in the face. It’s a nuisance, and I wish the game would take me serious as a player and stop ridiculing me.
But that’s just one of countless disappointments I had over the years. GW1 is a phenomenally good game. GW2 is……
There’s roughly 700 MMOs out there, Glory. Not just the ones you mentioned.
I myself might go back to GW1 because it’s an extremely good game. It simply cannot be compared with GW2. I’ve played GW1 since 2006, and seeing its successor GW2 in its current state simply breaks my heart. It’s like losing a loved one.
1) I am leveling my characters. I have 24 of them, I’m doing world completion and personal story completion with all of them.
2) Enjoying the scenery — they’re wonderful, I love the landscapes.
3) My daily trivia show in Divinity’s Reach. It’s in German language only, so if you speak German and want to participate, just be in Divinity’s Reach at 9 pm CET (every day) and win gold. A few players have told me that this show is the sole reason why they’re still logging in — seriously, I’m hoping for better days in GW2, for better storytelling, more areas, something worthwhile…
Dear BloodFallsSilent, I second what you said. Let me remind you (and all other disappointed players, myself included) of the following ArenaNet post which I deem quite revealing, at this point: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/is-it-fun-colin-johanson-on-how-arenanet-measures-success/
I’ll soon count myself to your lot, Randulf I’m in the progress of crafting my Kraitkin. Still, I wonder about the overall statistics. A percentage would suffice, it doesn’t need to be the exact numbers… I wonder whether ArenaNet would publish such a statistics
Speaking of legendary weapons, is there an official statistics how many of each are in the game, or can such a statistics be provided one day? It’s simply an intellectual interest of mine — I see the greatswords and Bifrost and the bows every single day, but I never see Kraitkin or the pistol, for example.
