First off I’d like to thank anet for refining the eraser tool- delete 1 is so much nicer than Delete AoE! And the addition of the whispers globe some time ago got me thinking!
I made this thread to see if anyone else goes through the game and sees assets they’d like to be able to craft (or to bribe their guild scribes into making for them.) Personally I think because the decor limit to an area is small, we should have larger or atleast more involved decorations- So lets start big! Things that could use legendary components or gifts, like the whispers globe has the gift of exploration, or have unique items.
Another thing is (I’m bad at gathering my thoughts) that lvl 400 scribe crafting shouldn’t result in a tiny little table barely larger than the basic version you bought from the vendor. what is this? A guild hall for ants
Object: Durmand’s Pillar of Knowledge (I’m sorry, I made the name up, I dont know what its called, that big swirly light at the skillpoint with the floating letters and stone slabs)
Requirements: Gift of Knoweldge, Grandmaster Finishing kit, Wide library shelf, Resonating Lodestone (or maybe Tomes of knowledge? because I need a way to get rid of these)
Object: Fountain of Cleansing (In the courtyard and twisted castle in Stronghold of the Faithful)
Requirement: Illuminated Fountain, Grandmaster’s Finishing kit, 5 Giant’s Eye, White Mantle Emblem (similar to Ascalonian blueprints, would drop from WM)
Object:Mursaat Bust (again, visible in wing 3 throughout the stronghold)
Requirement: Bloodstone Ingots, Visage of The Dire, Ornate Armor stand, Grandmaster’s Finishing kit
Object:Vigil Armaments (ie big fancy siege/defence weapons?)
Requirement: Gift of War, Grandmaster’s Finishing Kit, Superior _ Blueprints, Strategic defense map of the mists
Object:Abbadon Statue
Requirement: Visage of Abbadon, 30 Orichalcum Chisel, 25 basic boulders, Grandmaster’s Finishing kit
Object: Bronze/Silver/Gold Zhaitan Statue
Requirement: 10 Scales of Zhaitan ( ie something you can get when you complete Victory or Death on each character or as rare drops in Arah) + relevant kit, like other trophy statues.
Ok, so there’s no in-game asset pre-existing for that last one, and maybe Elder Dragon statues should be bigger or fancier than world boss/raid boss statues but I digress! That’s my wishlist, how about yours?
Up until about 2 weeks ago, you could “game” the system and create multi-floor arena layouts in Gilded Hollow (I am unaware if the fix prevented it in Lost Precipice also). In which cases you could place clouds(or infact, other non-arena decorations) against the inside of the “outer” barrier" to create a staircase leading up the inside of that wall.
To clarify, there is the edge of the arena, then the toggle-able upgrade barrier, then a ring out /pit/hole and then another invisible barrier to prevent people from jumping into the arena. The clouds could be placed against the final outer barrier.
This was important because if you notice, you cannot place non-arena decorations on the floor of the arena, however you can place non-arena decorations above a certain height, using walls for support.
Combining these two things allowed me to create a staircase up the outside of the arena to reach large flat areas of a 2nd floor using the SAB floor and ramp decorations.
This meant we could bring jumping and gliding elements to our arena and make things little more interesting!
Some pictures;

However, as I say, about 2 weeks ago a fix was implemented that prevented you from jumping into the arena from the cloud stairs, rendering everything kind of useless and disappointing. Now if you climb the staircase and attempt to jump into the arena or the 2nd floors, you are removed with the message “Improper arena access detected” and teleported outside.
I talked with support about this but there was nothing they could do but suggest I think of a solution and post about it in the forums.
Which leads me to my suggestion. Which I, in my limited knowledge, think is the easiest way to get around the restrictions without having to do any crazy reworks;
tl;dr Use the SAB ramp and floor models, (reskin it to match the arena decor) and implement as arena obstacle upgrades.
As an arena obstacle, it would have no issue being placed on the arena floor proper, and would remove the need for the cloud staircase and jumping through the “improper entry” threshold.
Thanks for reading!

This would actually be amazing, and I hope Anet sees it as worth developing. Honestly, considering what they’ve already done in the past to honor those who’ve passed, customization friendly plaques and statues for guild halls seems like a logical step!
/Bumping for support!
Since Revenant is prrrrrroobably (lookin at you, PAX trailer) going to be getting the use of a melee range staff in HoT, and spears as a weapon type isn’t happening, is it possible to open up the spear and trident skins to be transmuted on to staves?
(And if probably spearguns as rifle skins too, so no-one is left out)
Pros:
- More Staff diversity- All of those beautiful spear and trident skins could see the light of day- literally.
- Underwater Legendaries wouldn’t be seen as a “waste” of time/effort
- Makes more sense if you’re using a stick with a sharp bit as a melee weapon than say, the bifrost.
Cons:
- no idea how much effort it would be on the dev’s side.
I’m sure the forum can fill in the rest of this part for me.
Yes, it’s likely nothing will change but at least the feedback from the Dragonhunter can be taken into account when it comes to future specialisations. Unless you’re content with sitting back and letting Warrior become Drakeslayer and Thief become Harpyslapper.
Omg please let Harpyslapper and Drakeslayer be actual spec names. Guardians can’t be the only ones given the short end of the stick!
A couple notes on Dragonhunter. We went with this name because we felt it was evocative of the medieval witch hunters. Guardians consider themselves protectors of the innocent. Followers of their faith be it in honor, valor, etc. The origin of the dragonhunter is a more subtle nuanced version of this. Guardians fight for justice and the dragonhunter faction believes justice is the eradication of dragons and their minions. I understand this is a lot more high concept than Mesmer but at the end of the day we felt like we wanted to try and push a more mature theme here. I hope this helps explain our thinking. We had other generic names in mind but felt like it was important to have a mix of spec names that are generic fantasy, more Tyrian fantasy, and more high concept. This one falls more in the third category.
Thanks,
Jon
Are we even playing the same game, Jon Peters? Dragonhunter feels about as generic a name as you could possibly be! If you wanted it to be an inquisitor type class idk maybe? Call it that?"
As it stands, it seems like the Actual spec name is;
“Dragonhunter (You know, like a witch-hunter)”
Since you have to explain that every single time without the class sounding like the dumb fighter of the group.
No. How about you leave tomes in as elites, and give us more tomes as part of specialization stuff later? Renewed Focus is useful but oh so boring. I appear to be in the minority here since I usually swap between both tomes depending on whether I think the party is gonna die or needs a hand with aoe cc/quickness.
Super disappointing that you’re thinking of replacing them :\
Whats the point of keeping the tomes if both skills that make you want to use the tomes are staying as independent skills without a 1 second precast?
I use all of the skills in the books, I mean- prioritize based on the situation. I’m not saying that they’re currently perfect, a balance to them would be very welcome.
Its just, I don’t want my favorite part of the profession to be taken out and set on a shelf for 3+ years before the expansion or feature pack containing the next set of elite specializations. We don’t even have a release date for THIS set of specs!

If you go into the story journal and choose the episode and click “play this episode” it should send out the episode’s starter mail, as it would for party politics.
I have nothing to say that hasn’t already been said- and said better by others, but I’d like to add my voice to the dissent in this thread. I appreciate the new additions to the Priory’s Library as a way to get things into the game’s canon, but honestly its very disappointing to see writers turn their backs on previously established lore instead of working with it. Its a pet peeve of mine, especially as lore and in game history is something I really enjoy learning about in a game like this.

Thankyou! I’d like to have a higher quality version, but I’m afraid 480p is the highest I can record at, alongside running the game in relatively fancy graphics level. Ya can see in the bit with the zerg in la where my laptop really starts to suffer with the FPS.

First off I’d like to thank Arenanet’s level designers, sound team, artists and writers (and everyone else who worked on this to be quite honest,) on an excellent chapter to the living story.
So my guild and I put together a music video in tribute to remember LA as it was. (Plus its almost like Bastille wrote that song for LA ;P )
Bringers of Aggro [Oops]Lion’s Arch tribute
Actually, The Temple of Ages shot is wrong, since in GW2 a statue of Kormir has replaced the Lyssa statue (and the balth statue is gone too someone tell me why).
it’s not wrong, he took a picture of the right spot on the past and present. it’s showcasing the changes that happened on 250 years.
Yes, “wrong” was an incorrect word choice, sorry for my english.

I wasn’t 100% whether I should post this in Audio or bugs but here we are in Audio.
Anyway, it seems that the battle music triggers correctly when I get into a fight but whenever I’m out of combat again, the music doesn’t stop. I think it’s the tracks “Battle with the Tamini” and “The Pact”, if that helps in any way.
Relogging fixes it usually, until I get into combat and it bugs again; though it doesn’t happen every time.
E is, if I recall correctly, a mysterious guiding figure in the background of things. It was E who sent us messages during dragon bash to get in contact with Marjory. I assumed it was Evon Gnashblade, since when he lost the vote we heard nothing more from him.
we never heard anything from him, other than requests to vote from him, all he does is advertise his stuff now
Ah, I meant that we hear nothing more from E. Like, that when Evon didn’t win they just shelved the storyline for another day.

Priory armor is available in game to a character who has chosen the Priory path in the personal story around lvl 30-ish? But it doesn’t look very much like that concept at all.
Its likely that the concept didn’t transfer very well from the art onto the model, so they scrapped the idea.

My Engie, Seer of Truth, is dressed as Kormir all day every day! #H8rsgonh8
Here he is, descending upon the unworthy masses.
Oh man, I fell through the map in the 3rd Beta weekend and found this super awesome Cerebro:“http://wodumedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Charles-Xavier-Patrick-Stewart-prepares-to-use-Cerebro-the-global-mutant-monitoring-system-housed-beneath-the-professors-mansion-in-20th-Century-Foxs-X-Men-2000.jpg” room! Good to know its still findable I never made it to the button though.
“Agony Resistance + 20% magic find”
I’m not aware of an infusion that has this. Anyone ware to explain, or is this just incorrect?
Nope I was tired and cba to fact check so I exaggerated. My bad. I should probably fix that come to think of it….

*Guaranteed in the Consortium sense of the word, ie not guaranteed at all.
I put together this quick guide, based on my experience of soloing as a guardian in SC for players who have yet to venture to the Cove in the south under the sun, and might not want to go in blind tomorrow on May 14th (or whenever the patch comes through for your timezone)
This is the link. Click it. Or, you know don’t
Of course, I have no-idea how the mobs will change (if they change) post-patch, but if the base mechanics of the mobs are the same, perhaps this will be helpful afterall.
(I, for one, am really excited to see what they do to the area to improve it!)

My guardian is wearing this, currently incomplete set, just need the Orrian buttcape to finish it off
T3 helm, Twilight Arbor shoulders, Priory chest, Fused gauntlets, Draconic (?) legs and T1 boots. (He also has a ceremonial greatsword which inspired this set
And my Engie (Seer of Truth hehehe) is wearing his Kormir set, the helm from the personal story rewards (Prowler’s helm?) Priory coat, named exotic set gloves, noble’s pants and pirate boots

I got one of these too, except mine had a {REDACTED} after the url, and the fonts on the fake site were incorrect. :I

In dredgehaunt there are two large dragon statues with their tails entwined and their mouths open towards a frozen waterfall. If you find the crank you can activate the mechanism to release an ancient fleshreaver, who you then fight to seal away again. Like most priory things “oops. probably shouldn’t have done that…”
Apparantly there are secret Ooze bosses in CoF? But I don’t know if that was verified.
I have this problem as well. And have had this problem for quite some time. I keep going to post about it but then there’s always another update on the way so I keep hoping that it’ll be fixed when I patch. As far as details go, I too have the problem after Estate of Decay- you can’t scroll any further past or everything just goes blank. I’m afraid I can’t tell you when it started, however.
Thanks for the comments both here and on dA, guys I think I’ll call it “finished”, though these things never really are haha. But any critique or comments would be welcome!

Someone suggested that I should link these up here on le official forums for reasons related to humor, however, I must inform you that the spelling, grammar, font choice and pixelated .jpegs may cause nausea and disgust.
I started these for my guild, Bringers of Aggro [Oops], as someone didn’t know who Prince Rurik was….haha
and then, For the illustrious and colourful Citri,

More coming soon, (whether they are liked or not >:D)
I’ve worked this a bit further, again if anyone has any crits or tips; feel free to share

Imagine if you saw this after you managed to get the gate open at Claw Island when you take it back….

I was gonna add in a background and not have her corpse floating in gradient space forever. But maybe I’ll come back and finish it in a couple of months.
So Happy Holidays, have a dead Sylvari!
If anyone has any suggestions or criticisms, I’d love to hear it
When I played through this fractal, I got the impression that the Colossus was a being similar to Razah- both found outside of Tyria and both are freed by the player.
