Thanks for all the shout outs on the forums thus far, this matchup has been a lot of fun for us. SBI has gotten a lot of new talent, been really impressed with the movement of DDLG. TE its always a pleasure to fight with you guys, respect to you guys and how much you have improved since our last meeting. BAEST, you guys are looking good, glad we get to fight you guys. And to all other guilds on SBI and DH thanks for all the fun this week, hopefully we will see you guys again in the future and we’ve all improved from now till then.

I’m from a smaller guild on BG tag is DR. Would just like to say that 2v1’s happen in this game all the time, normally on a servers home borderland they get 2v1’d which is to be expected. If you think about it for a minute you will see that if your on an offensive borderland and you hit the other offensive team that tea will react and try to hit back, but the defending team will see this and try to capitalize on back caps and hitting one side or the other and getting as much territory from the preoccupied forces. That’s just good tactics, my guild looks for orange swords on whatever map we are on and if we see JQ and SoR fighting we try and take something from one of them. Once again I don’t think this is a bad thing in fact its a good thing to have map awareness.
There’s a way to get rid of Retal, its a little thing called Boon Stripping, but wait because theres an AoE cap there isn’t a way to effectively remove it from a huge 80 man ball unless you have a proportionate amount of a certain class in a zerg. Not only does that issue create bigger zergs it also puts one class in high demand meaning more people playing just that class and a lack of build diversity. You ask us to think what we are saying through but I ask you have you really thought about your counter arguments? DR literally sits in TS daily trying to theorycraft builds and movement strategies to beat bigger groups, in a 20v50 situation we cna actually win a good amount of the time, but as soon as a certain thresh hold is breached from our opponents we can literally do NOTHING to them.
If you want to get technical in an actual combat situation the side with the biggest numbers DOES NOT win, its the side which employs better tactics. Look at the Spartans in Ancient Greece, look at the Battle of Bunker Hill or the American Military today, all of those are perfect examples of how tactics and actually thinking about combat strategically wins fights. Sure this is a game, but logic and thinking should be rewarded not shunned.
So its 2:50 am server time, and SoR is at 350ppt……..what was that about not having an Oceanic presence again?
Want to thank The Provoked, Aggression and Nord, you guys are really fun to fight in the open field, really solid groups and we at DR always enjoy fighting well coordinated groups.

Silas, Angel, and Shortcake are the only ones i’m not laughing at on this thread. To respond to Bogey, if your gonna 4-5 v. 50 then of course your gonna get stomped, but 20-50 you should be able to at least DENT them in some way, sure you may still loose. What I don’t understand is clearly Anet has server issues, why would you promote a numbers game when your servers can’t handle the numbers? You would solve two issues that there are numerous complaints about (those complaints being lag and blobs) if you provided more incentive for small team play. I’m in Angels guild and it is sad that we are considering moving down tiers because we don’t want to conform to megablobs that just press 1 and hope to win.
Or ya know because WvW is designed around multiple people being there, you can just walk into a friendly Necro Well or a friendly null field and have all your conditions stripped. But ya know who uses strategy and knowledge in WvW these days.
This thread is hilarious, I use cleansing Ire in WvW…….. I have no problems with getting it off because I dont’ stand in necro wells and am actively paying attention to my screen when in combat. If I get a blind stacked on me I use shake it off and then my combo is Endure Pain, Balanced Stance, Earthshaker and then Whirling Axe (traited for 50% more crit chance against stunned enemies and crits with axe gives more adrenaline), couple all of that with cleansing Ire and Shake it off and I can remove 4 conditions on myself as a zerker warrior. No idea what all the QQ is about.
It’ll be interesting to see how long BG can keep up this overtime coverage strategy they have going. I’m all for competition. That way, guilds stay on their respective servers and don’t transfer out due to frustration or boredom.
LOL, why is it that when we are winning it is said that we are pulling massive overtime? Fact is our NA, Oceanic, and SEA have always been strong, but with the addition of RG and HB coming back IRON hasn’t been able to steamroll the EU timeslot. There is no overtime involved and now we match all of your coverage spots.

I think that 2v1 should be used in wvwvw, it makes complete sense to 2v1 who is in the lead. That just never seems to happen in this matchup, for all the kitten talking we do to each other the most amazing thing to me was last week with JQ, it’s jut ironic and eye opening that when SoR wasn’t with JQ, JQ got steamrolled. You can claim u were going for DB, that may be true but don’t make it out like you didn’t fight BG at all during this past week. I encourage all BG players to stop responding to the stupidity and troll like nature to people on these forums. It shows a ton about us a server that we can still produce while in the situation we are in.
SoR and JQ can say all they want about being superior to Blackgate, I ain’t even mad, we saw what happens to JQ when SoR isn’t with them (or did you JQ guys forget about last week so quickly?)
JQ has yet to attack SoR in EB, 2 and half hours after reset and they haven’t even poked SoR.
Oh where do I begin to prove my previous comment, let’s see how about this most recent week of the SoR/JQ/BG matchup. In EB everytime I went there to command we had JQ at umberglade and SoR at Quentins (this was the time in the week that BG was LAST PLACE), please justify 2v1’ing the person in last place because it quite literally makes zero sense. Then there was this time at hills on JQBL where myself and company tried taking a JQ owned hills, we got the south gate down and were working on inner, all of a sudden we get inner down and then out of nowhere an entire SoR zerg comes from behind us, roflstomps us and THEN LEAVES. They didn’t even try to take hills they literally came to YOUR keep and killed US and then LEFT. That’s only last week I can recall numerous times of the 4 month period that 2v1 bullsht happened. Let me be clear though 2v1 is a part of WvWvW, but a 2v1 should always be against who is winning the matchup, so I say butt buddies because you 2v1’d the server in last place and we STILL managed to win second. All i’m saying is thakittens interesting to see how BG fairs when it isn’t constantly attacked from both sides across all maps.
Weird I see a ton of people referring to SoR as Rank 1, now i’m no chest thumper but ratings in this game are determined by your overall cumulative point total. Which actually when you look at the rankings, BG is the number 1. If you actually look at BG matchup atm (we have an even one based on a numbers standpoint) you actually get to see what we can do without JQ riding on SoR’s coat tails. Hopefully most of you take this as informative, because i’m stating a fact (the ratings that is, I do not believe SoR initiates a 2v1 intentionally, but when you guys used to hit BG JQ rode your success and hit us while we were trying to stop you.).
Woah, feels so strange and liberating that BG doesn’t have to deal with JQ and SoR being but buddies anymore. We can finally see whakittens like to fight without a constant 2v1 day in and day out (and from what I have seen already ya’ll are in for a long week).
I was commanding in BG BL tonight thank you SoR for the bags and the fun. Couple of sketchy things happened tonight though, but instead of starting a flame war i’m gonna post a screenie and just pray that you guys swallow your hippocracy……… Actually on second that, flame away I get my kicks at work from this page, I have watercooler conversations with my friends about how silly some of you are they would be disappointed if I didn’t bring something to that conversation so please by all means keep on going.

For months NA was relatively even for all three servers, each would have nights during the week when they would tick higher than the other two up until about the time BG took in Kaineng guilds. To say any had the best NA during those roughly 3 months is inaccurate and a misrepresentation of the server dynamics.
Only NA guild that BG got out of that was RISE, Meow and WM are SEA and Oceanic
All of you are so stupid, idc about range, sure its within range if you establish line of sight, problem is there isn’t any line of sight, and from the screenshot you posted and were kind enough to demonstrate the range on you can clearly see its right up to the wall, so how did you get your AoE target field to target behind our keep walls and even hit our lords room?

So BG is getting 2v1’d as usual (nice seeing you all in our garrison btw, you ruined my tea time kittens). Looking forward to the coming weeks, with the patch changes and the new guilds on BG it should be more interesting and more compelling combat (except for Arrow Carts which need a nerf pronto).
I will say arrow carts needed a buff, but a range increase AND an 80% increase is just ridiculous. Anyone who makes the argument that this is a good thing quite honestly is just stupid. I’ve just come from two hours of trying to take hills in T1, after two hours we still haven’t made a single dent in ANY of the gates OR walls. So what I would like to know from the people who think this is a good change, how would you go about taking a keep now? Seriously we tried everything, trebbing from Lowlands, trebbing from Stargrove, Rams, Cata’s, golems, for every treb we put up they had a counter (you might say this is good play on their parts and yes they were good defenders), but lets remember that they have 5 people in hills. Some of you are saying hoorah we can defend against zergs now, how the kitten are you supposed to take keeps without forces of main power, even towers are a pain in the kitten now. Sure like I said I agree defense needed a buff to some degree, but now instead of zerging the entire playstyle is just going to be capping keeps right on reset and then holding them, idk about you but that sounds a lot more boring than zerg versus zerg. Also to all of you that think ninjaing will somehow be the way to cap towers and supply, heres a newsflash the same arrow carts you love are going to kitten you time and time again all the while the guy behind it is laughing his kitten off at your pathetic 5 man attempts to take something, if anything you made his job easier he has less buttons to press now. I have seen a lot of rage about this topic, I am not here to whine or rage I simply want to put this into perspective for people and hopefully the devs.
Confusion as a mechanic before this patch was an extremely good skill, I will not argue that it was extremely powerful but look at where it excelled. This build was viable for WvW and really as a subcategory to that only in huge group fights (1v1 I would get destroyed from focus fire), other than that and in all other forms of the game its useless. Look at sPvP, what mesmer still runs a confusion build in sPvP? Hardly any, you will never see a confusion mesmer in FOTM or dungeons as well because it simply is sub par to power builds. Also lets remember that condition Mesmers have ONE condition they can stack regularly and that is confusion, so not only are you nerfing a mechanic but your also taking away an entire build idea from a class (condition mesmers will cease to be viable in any form of the game). Also as many people have stated you have all but destroyed the scepter, and yes I say destroyed because the only reason people really run with the scepter is for confusing images and clone generation (clone generation will still be viable but honestly there are much better ways to run clone factory). Also all of our traits that give multiple ways to stack confusion will now be worthless, all the glamour confusion traits are worthless, blind also gives confusion worthless, shatters inflict confusion (which we dont’ even have a choice to choose) is now worthless.
So I ask you was it really that OP, to take away so much from a class because one mechanic which was only viable in one form of the game and even at that point only viable in a specific circumstance? I’m not gonna be sarcastic or mean about this but I really think this should have been thought out more, sure you can nerf it, but 50% seems drastic and the added fact that so many other aspects of the class rely on confusion to be viable and now they won’t be and there is no other changes happening with said aspects really just leaves me to believe your trying to appease whiners and QQers. 25% I could have lived with but 50% is halving the damage and with all the added points your essentially taking a third of the viable builds for this class (Condition, Power, and Mantra builds being the three basic types of builds) extremely weak.
I say all of this definitively because we have already seen the impact of the same nerf in sPvP. One mechanic is now completely sub par in ever aspect of the game, that just seems pointless to me. After this patch I want a dev to play a confusion mesmer and just see how laughable its going to become.
