Golden Ooze nearly impossible to complete

Payne.3184

Okay, after 3 days of trying to complete the Champion Golden Ooze for the Hope Oxide Compound i am convinced that it is nearly impossible to do. The first 5 tries I failed do to just too few people… killing the little golden oozes… some are vets or elite it would seem… to prevent them from healing the Champ takes more than 3 people (let alone actually killing the Champ). Getting a full enough map to do all 4 posts and getting enough people to do each of the event is tough to do even with at tag. The last 2 days a added twist that if the other events complete while we are doing the Champ Golden Ooze event… it all just vanishes… no body, no reward… and I am stuck waiting til the next cycle in hopes that i can complete everything in the small window. Been trying to do this for 4 days now.

Shiverpeaks Explorer Achievement -The Foundation Stone bugged. I get the discovery notice on new characters, does not show on my character that has map completion (she has the location, just going there does not trigger the completion). So it shows 174/175 and i see no way to get it to complete.

Gift of Battle Feedback [merged]

This NEW reward track seems at best excessive…. Have had the game since release… am a Gold Invader in wvw… I don’t think I’ve even seen many of the items I now have to get to get the gift of battle. Apparently when i bought the last one with badges i was suppose to have bought several…

Badges really had little use before… beyond peasant siege… now they will have even less…

This was another crappy idea that needs to be scrapped.

  • Salvage Pit
  • Flying Circus
  • On Wings of Gold
  • Ley-Line Run
  • Drone Race
  • Beetle Feast
  • Haywire Punch o Matic

Of these… only one i have been able to get gold one so far is the salvage pit… not even silver one these and other adventures… and the super-mario effect isn’t my idea of fun… to began with

“shouldn’t be more frustrating than fun…” is partially my point…
I’ve spent days running around trying to catch this one or do that one… swearing, thrown headsets and so on… and milling over the list trying to figure out one to do… and I’m 30 short… and really not like the idea of spend 3-4 more days trying to get one of the remaining… the “fun” ones i’ve done…

I actually think that they are in a good spot. You don’t need to do all of them, just most of them. You have almost 30 that you can skip for whatever reason (too difficult, can’t get to it at the right time etc…). I don’t think that it should be too easy to finish your mastery tracks, I do think that you should have to work for it

The number of times this topic comes up suggests otherwise, imo.

The effort:reward ratio for mastery points is a bit too high. Of course we don’t need everything handed to us for just showing up, but content shouldn’t be more frustrating than fun.

Mastery point madness

Maguuma Mastery points need to be more diverse and plentiful, or repeatable (at least some of them – maybe one per character). I am in a small guild – 95 members… and the overwhelming complaint/discussion is mastery points, or trying to get them. Working on a legendary and I am running out of points that I can get, even with help. Some of them do not spawn with any regularity (yes I know about the timers), and require a mob to complete. At least 1 of the bosses, I’ve helped kill 3 times and haven’t gotten credit yet and this event need 20-30 people to “win”. Frustrating. Of the ones still on my list (seems a small list for how many we need to get) maybe I can complete 4-5 if i can time it right (keeping in mind I do have a job, and a life… sorta), it still leaves me 30 short… with a even smaller pool of options. Granted I am bad at jumping puzzles and jumping through hoops events… but I don’t buy those games, nor invest money in them… if i know that’s what i’m buying. Even the jumping puzzle nuts in the Guild (they actually build puzzles in the guild hall to see how tough they can make them) are short on points…
My suggestion would be to make at least some of them repeatable… on a different character… or offer a wider variety… and for Tryia masteries… give users who already did the event (doing map competition…) the point.

The Mastery Points are horrible for someone who can’t spend all day everyday playing the game, and/or abhors jumping puzzles… I haven’t been able to get even 1 of them in the last week… and advancing to a level of say… gliding… is impossible without them. The ones I can get i already have for the most part… My level of frustration is reaching quitting levels…

Mastery Point fiasco

Payne.3184

I admit, pve really isn’t my thing… and jumping puzzles got me to quit the game for a year. wvw got me to come back… so designing the game so that i am forced to play pve to craft my legendary is not popular… and the excessive gold and mastery’s even less so… The mastery point are a mystery… soon i will have the Tyrian experience to complete them and not even 1/3 of the points… (with no real info or guide to how to get them… ) what little I know… are some things i would rather find another game to play than slug through. Some of them tell me i have some part done, but no clue which part… Maguma are marginally better… at least there seem to be more options… Now i will spend 3 hours try to find a single Tyrian mastery point and may not get it… didn’t get one last night…

Tombs of Knowledge... not even good kindling

Payne.3184

I know their are a few who think tombs of knowledge are great for leveling up… right up until all their char’s have hit 80… then they become bag slot garbage… I have one of each class… don’t see any reason of need for more… I now am rewarded with a non-reward I can’t trade, sell, savage or use…
I’ll trade you 25 for a Mastery point… or 1 for a catapult or Treb… least those have some value… I know people who have stacks of them….
Mastery Points are another sore spot… but that’s for a different area

My thoughts on the Nevermore quest (SPOILERS)

Payne.3184

Nevermore is just nuts… did not have to do 1/2 of this… or spend 1/4 of this for Kuldos… and I promised myself I would not make another one after Kuldos…
We will see… this may just end up driving me to quit the game…
Considering what i spend on gems… that would be a real loss for them… I’m sure I’m not the only one…

Thornwatch poi

Payne.3184

How do i get to Thornwatch poi? I have read some vague references to a event, but cannot find any details. I have spent a week standing around or watching for any events to spawn to get past the vine wall… nothing. This is required for map completion, but there does not seem to be any way to do this. I work for a living and can’t camp out 24/7/365 waiting for 1 poi.

Legendary weapons

Working on Nevermore… This is not my first legendary… Nevermore may be my last… some of the ingredients are beyond rational… I can understand you wanting players to do the story… but things like 2200 crests or orbs is just beyond reason. I’ve played 3,000 hrs in this game and maybe seen 25 or 30 of these… which means I have to buy them… Did you really need to make it items that you also tell every guild in the game that they need for their guild halls? 500 gp for part of on part of a part is unreasonable… Things like this make me wonder if perhaps I should be look at other games…

Change in drops for ascended crafting items?

in WvW

Posted by: Payne.3184

Payne.3184

I have noticed a drop off in the amount of bloodstone… when crafting i use about a equal amount of draginite, bloodstone and emperiaum (spelling?). when i go to look at inventories i have 15-20 bricks of emperiam… (it’s always been most common) which you get for many achievements… Bloodstone use to be the next most prevalent and you get it for taking towers (mostly). Dragonite was rarest… only coming from castle and keeps… yet, i have 6-7 draginite bricks and 0 bloodstone. This is after crafting my last item. I can assure you i participate in many more tower captures than keeps….

The drops seem to be only 2-3 at a time…

This change has slowed a already slow process….

Tweaking supply, decay and the rest does not really make up for population imbalance. I have been playing off and on since the day the GW1 came out… and GW2… also. When the fewest opponents I see have me 5-1… no matter which section i visit… and a zerg of 15-20 is a large one for us IOJ and bands that size from FSP would be considered a small raiding party…

Top 5 gripes or suggestions

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Payne.3184

1) Soul bound items that can not be sold, salvaged or transferred to another player. Basically you have toss out the signals you bought.
2) Rewards that do not appear, or disappear before the battle is over.
3) Items that are almost impossible to acquire needed (without substitutes) for crafting a item. Some of these are not even available anymore.
4) WVW appears to have not world limits on numbers. I joined a server that was less congested when I started the game. Now my world is always badly outnumbered. Seldom do i even get 3-1 odds in battles… 10-1 is more common. There should be a numbers limit that one world can have… vs the other worlds… ie: if world 1 has 50 people in the game the other world should not be able to have 400…
5) Most of the drops are junk… you might as well just call it that or give out coin.

I have been working on my ranger ascended set… I have noticed my toughness is approaching 3k… but my power is down to 13-14k… I have been admittedly boosting my condition damage… especially bleeding (like to see them bleed… grin… and they remember me… ). As a ranger, I have My Ascended bow… am about to make the sword… and am looking at the off-hand… been using a axe, but want input on the whole setup and if axe is really best. Ascended weapons are a significant investment and I don’t want to make a bad choice. My biggest issues are when the opponent closes on me… which is what I want the second set for.
