Guild Wars 2

Say I want to be rich. Is money actually valuable in this game or is it like WoW where it’s pretty pointless. You get all your items from bosses anyhow.

I’ve came back to this game like 5 times (probably because it’s no-sub) and I really, really, want to enjoy it.

I’ve filled every character slot with a character and so far I just can’t seem to enjoy this game for more than an hour and then I just question what the point is.

I log in and do my quests while not really looking forward to ANYTHING. There is no new ability next level. Nothing new, really, other than maybe a trait giving me some 2% crit bonus. And talking about abilities, there is nothing fun about combat in this game. I have like 4 abilities on each character, 2 which I use to deal damage. So I’m just spamming 2 abilities or so again and again.

So I’m asking.. What on earth drives you to play this game? What are you looking forward to next level? What kind of short-term goals can you set? It just seems an awful lot of pointless.

Another question…

I’ve tried all the classes and there seem to be only 5 attack abilities and 5 ‘utility’ abilities. Is that it? I know you can swap weapons but I feel like I am not playing to reach any goal…I already leveled these 5 abilities and the next carrot is another utility ability ages from now…Am I the only one who feels like it gets dull to spam these abilities again and again? And we must admit that WvWvW requires no skill from the individual player as you just zerg around and spam buttons…

I mean, I feel like I can just create any character level 1 and then go zerg in pvp with my 5 abilities…Does this change, or?

Does anyone know if they have 3v3 ladders on the rise?

SC2 players don’t whine because they ARE getting something for playing. SC2 is an e-sport because it is well balanced. You play for rating, just like in WoW arena. I don’t see any such system beneath 5v5 in GW2. I was hoping there would be 3v3 arena and hopefully 2v2…

Hi, I’m a new player and so far all I’ve seen is questing (admittedly better than in world of warcraft) and battlegrounds. WvWvW is probably okay but I can see it getting tiring very fast…

How is the end-game? What is so different from what we’ve all seen? WvWvW doesn’t seem too much different from any of the large scale battlegrounds in world of warcraft..

I should add that I also experience a bug where keys stop working in-game when alt-tabbing…

I cannot find any ArenaNet.log file in my documents/gw2 folder to attach. If you require it, then please advice on how to obtain it.

Same problem here.

Every time I play (since last patch I think) I crash during change of scenery. It can be at the beginning or end of a loading screen, beginning or end of cinematic or even when pressing m and going out of the map again.

The crash describes as a black screen, receiving ‘no input’ on my monitor and then my GPU fan goes off like mad. I tried formatting my system but that didn’t help.

I tried the ‘black screen fix’ stickied here, but it doesn’t seem to have helped

Doesn’t the story split later on to other maps? My story in one and his story in another map.

We chose differently in the beginning..Does that mean we can’t quest together? :/

I’m trying to play with my friend but he gets into a different story! We would rather not reroll, is there any way we can join each others story? Thank you.
