I’m not trying to silence anyone. What I was that to make a blanket statement to the effect that “the people who got hacked were stupid” is insulting and not in any way productive. You have every right to be heard – so long as you can defend your position and tone.

for those of us that are frustrated .. this is a place to vent off some of that anger but I am in no means being disrespectful or using any profanity that can be considered an offense to anyone. so just let me vent off some anger okay? I’ll be done soon and get back to studying

I dont want to down play anyones issue…but getting players back into the game who cannot log in is gonna be they’re top priority regardless

what you do not understand is that the other issues ARE players that can’t log in to their accounts
it is the same as hacked accounts where we cannot log in
I wouldn’t be wasting my time over say i lost 5 gold in a trading post transaction
i’d try to earn it back

Okay, this pisses me off. Do you know anything at all about how people are getting hacked? Do you really think all these people are clicking phishing emails or using “1234” for their passwords? “Smart” has nothing to do with the hacking issue in a great many cases I’ve seen posted. I realize you’re angry – so am I – but your entire tone is insulting to everyone with an outstanding ticket atm.

my account was hacked
in 15 years of playing mmo’s this has never happened
my email and game password are not the same
my email was not hacked my game was
i have used countless different passwords over the years ( it is possible i have used the one i used for GW2 before)
i didnt click any links in my email about password changes in fact when i got an email about an attempted password change i opened a “submit question ticket” then
told Anet about it and yet i was still hacked

yet you wanna blame the players who CANNOT even log into their accounts for your delay in your problem being handled?

by the way I have been waiting 4 days now……but its my own fault…your right

If that really is the case then A Net needs to send out a statement saying that they’ve been compromised. IS that what you are trying to say?

I said so earlier in a different post. Unless A Net has been compromised then it is your fault you got hacked someway somehow you just don’t know.

Most of us can’t log onto our accounts for other reasons rather than being hacked.

We have team members working on a lot of issues, from hacked accounts to linking issues to everything in between. The main focus is hacked accounts, it’s true, but the other issues are definitely on the radar as well.

I disagree with this statement .. Multiple times have you said

which honestly implies that there aren’t anyone working on other issues

As someone who was not hacked, I can say I support that choice to a degree. I mean, they want to get these accounts back to their proper owners BEFORE any real damage is dealt. Also, they had things taken from them, it might have been even arena net that was compromised, not them. I think your just frustrated at the slow ticket times like the rest of us.

Thank you so much for your show of patience. But leaning towards supporting the priority given to hacked accounts really isn’t helping our own issues. I agree with the OP. We really shouldn’t have to pay for other people’s problems. To any Mod that reads this .. I do have a 3 day ticket instead of a 1 day.

Serial Key Issues Resolved?

I simply want to know if there have been any resolutions for accounts that have the serial key applied to the wrong email address but still linked to the same ncsoft account?
Is there a solution or am I holding my breath for nothing and all these tickets are just collecting dust?

The focus right now is on hacked accounts and other major issues. Linking issues are individual cases, and we do want to and will take care of them, but there may be a bit more time before the team can do so.

But you told me in my other thread that you have agents working on ALL different types of issues with focus on hacked accounts. Wouldn’t it be even easier to put even just 1 agent on resolving other issues? It is implied from this response that you don’t even have a single agent working on this current issue with serial codes and that is just poor organizing of the support team. Please pass this on to whoever is in charge and please reconsider your strategy.

so you making a mistake, something that you could have avoided had you done things correctly is more important than someone who had their property stolen? lol ok

However you want to look at it, getting your property stolen is also something you could have prevented. The only thing that seems to separate the two issues is that you don’t have an idea how you were hacked only that you have been hacked. So unless A Net says they have been compromised then it is still your fault regardless if you remember where you made your mistake.

Agents are involved with all types of issues. Hacked accounts are a priority, but they are not the only focus.

Your ticket is one day old. Please understand that it will be necessary to ask for understanding while the team staffs up, gets trained, and tackles issues that preceded yours.

are well over 2-3 days old depending on how you want to look at it. The issue isn’t how old my tickets are but how inefficient this priority given to other issues is turning out. If people with similar problems as mine have waiting 5+ days then clearly you need you rethink your strategy .. take your time with this

This is an illogical and inefficient way of solving the backed up support tickets that you guys have accumulated and are going through. As long as there are accounts and players that are careless then there will be hacked accounts.

If A Net has not been compromised then I disagree that players accounts getting hacked on their own accord should have anything to do with A Net other than getting support let alone getting priority over other issues.

Issues like mine which involves direct problems with serial codes are seemingly more of a related issue with A Net rather than getting an account hacked.

we have been waiting patiently and very very patiently for the past 5+ days for any sort of response and we’re tired of reading that there are only an increasing amount of accounts being hacked. It feels hopeless. There must be compromises between the different types of support tickets.

I suggest taking a look through those ticket numbers posted in that thread and spending a good amount of time trying to resolve those issues before you get back to the hacked accounts.

First of all, I must apologize for making such an error .. it is my first mmo and my friend got me really interested into the game.

I would like to start by elaborating my situation.

I bought a $60 pre-purchase serial code from retail store called MemoryExpress. Then I created my account using that code. I went on to play with my friends for the first week and reached level 51(not that it matters). I went back to the store to pick up my standard copy and was confused that I received another serial code. This was where I got confused and created another account accidentally through the register.guildwars2.com because I thought I was updating my previous account.
Now that the grace period is over for the pre-purchase serial code I cannot access my account anymore and only have access to this current one which was accidentally created with the standard serial code.
I would really love to be able to play on my original account and had my support ticket made about 2 days ago. If anyone can help me out please contact me through
[email redacted]. Since that account is temporarily closed I wonder if my ticket will be ignored or not ..

I understand why hacked accounts would get priority but this should really be brought to their attention too
It really wasn’t made clear anywhere that was easily accessible that mentioned for us to update the account with the standard serial code after you received it ..
