I thought of a change that may help turret PvE, at least in part. This change focuses on helping the long cooldown of the turrets when you have to move them. Right now, you can place turrets to help you fight monsters, but when you are done fighting and need to move to the next area you must destroy your turrets and wait for a lengthy cooldown. Having to wait 20+ seconds before you can place them again makes it inefficient to use them in fights.
So my proposed change is make picking up turrets reduce the cooldown to about 5-10 seconds. If you use the tool belt skill to destroy them the cooldown lasts the full amount, but picking up the turrets allows engineers to pick up and move the turrets without having to wait lengthy periods between using them in fights.
To avoid abuse of picking up turrets when they are about to be destroyed, whether in PvE or PvP, you can make the “pick up” option only available outside combat. This way, the engineer can’t just place turrets, then pick them up when they are almost dead to avoid the longer cooldown. This would allow engineers to make their turrets more mobile; mainly in PvE, as well as making placement more important when certain fights may result in turrets being destroyed.
This is just the idea I came up with, and I don’t know if this makes them any stronger, but it at least makes turrets easier to move and useable in more fights without having to wait as long.
