I was hoping for something like this when i heard the elementalist was gonna get the sword. There’s just something about flying swords that I just love Anet can we have something like this please? don’t matter what class

Train Mobs? In GW2? Where?… How many are you guys talking about? 5? 10? 15? more? i don’t know if i’ve ever aggro more than 5 mobs at a time in open world (maybe in a cave, but even than there should be no more than… 5? maybe couple more?)… but of what I know, train mobs is not an issue. mobs just don’t have enough range of distance.

This all makes me very weary of spending money on future cash shop skins. If Anet is just going to take them and ruin the item after I buy it without offering any kind of refund, then I simply don’t trust them enough to give them my money.

As a condition Mesmer i can tell you that i rely mostly on my confusion. (although the other conditions are very important) Because confusion is both defense and offense at the same time. I kill most of my target with confusion. So when fighting a condition mesmer (or any condition build) look at your conditions, if you have confusion, try to clear it off and than attack. Don’t go in and spawn skills (that’s what the mesmer want you to do) cause you will die.

So I was able to get the card to run at x16 again. I decided to stress test the card by downloading this http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/
Stress it for about 10 mins, shutdown and went to work. When i came back, turn it on and check and it’s back to x16 http://gpuz.techpowerup.com/15/05/08/2sy.png

I am using the pcie slot closet to the cpu. Have not try a different driver but i dont’ think that is it… The power option is set to “off”… have gone to the bios and change it to Gen 3 and Gen 2… and still same thing…

So what we know so far is this:
-switching to the pcie slot x8 and it still shows "PCI-E 2.0×16 @ x4 2.0
-try my old R5670 and it’s running at x16

So the conclusion I’ve came up with is the card is damage in some way…. Guess it’s time for a new one

Now i’m almost certain it’s my card…. but what is wrong with my card that is causing this?

Even when the game is playing it says the same thing. Click on the ? and the Dx program runs and it still say the same thing. Maybe it’s my card?

i change my video card to the x8 slot and gpu-z still read PCI-E 2.0×16 @ x4 2.0

That’s fine it’s suppose to be a x16. There’s a couple of mATX motherboards whose one PCIe slot looks x16 but is actually x4.

Did you update your video driver recently? Other than inspecting the pins in the slot closely, inspect and or clean the edge contacts on the video card and making sure it’s fully inserted the entire length of the slot, I have nothing.

both window 8 and 10… i was thinking is was window 8 so that’s why i try window 10 but the problem persist. i will get some screen shoot up

i5 4690k
amd 6970 video card
8gb memory
Window 8.1 (Window 10 ATM)

This is a new computer that i just built, everything was good. Most of my setting are set to high. In LA i get around 40+ fps, nothing less. My fps has always stay above 40 to 100+ unless big zerg fight (wvw) or big events, then i’ll get 20ish… but on May 3rd when i turn on my computer and play GW2, my fps has massively decrease. In LA now the most i can get is around 30 fps if i’m lucky. In wvw if there’s like 5 or so people i’ll get no more then 30 fps. (BTW this is with character model limit and character model quality on lowest, before this happen i’ll get 60+ fps and that’s with character model limit and character model quality on high) it seems to me that my fps has been cut in half… I don’t remember doing anything that’ll cause this change. why all the sudden the fps drop? I have tried a couple of things: reinstall GW2, a complete system restart (formatted hard drive and reinstall window), have try this https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/PC-FPS-and-Performance-based-issues
Also i have try to play my account on my brother’s laptop and everything is good, so something is up with my computer. I’m totally confuse on why my fps has suddenly drop. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

So for a hybrid build you want to figure out a way to maintain your crit/ferority, then balance out your power/condi stats without dumping your sustain. Then to mitigate the overall reduction of either power and condi damage to their respective skills and applications, find a way to get might in there.

Finally put doom on both weapon swaps.

Note: I’d also drop phant fury for double traited manips. The extra range will make your life easier (allowing those AT’s to hit outside of 900) and more survive/control with a long range blink. Phant Fury is a waste on the torch, and less than favorable on the iSwordsman vs the iDuelist.

I have to chime in as the above erroneous thinking is a pet peeve of mine:

515 condi dmg, while not that much, is not different from having about 515 extra power dmg. Yes it is a little different because of coefficients on skills etc., but the point is, and everyone really needs to accept this when discussing hybrid dmg:

Damage stats scale linearly

This is according to https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Damage_calculation , which if it’s wrong I guess kitten me and apologies to all for what follows.

For less mathy types, what this means is that the difference between 1000 power and 1500 power is exactly the same as the difference going from 1500 power to 2000 power. Same goes for condition dmg.

When anyone tells you, as many do, that for example 700 condi dmg and 1600 power is useless because your conditions are weak and your power dmg is weak, they are implicitly claiming dmg is nonlinear, because what they are implying is that the dmg coming from that 700 condi dmg is less than the dmg that would come from an extra 700 power.

Your 500 condi dmg does just as much dmg above 0 condi dmg as someone with 2000 condi dmg does above having 1500.

Now, someone could get really down and dirty with exact skill coefficients if they wanted to, and yes those determine how the dmg stats actually translate into dmg, but condi and power are at least roughly equivalent, in that someone with 1000 condi dmg and 1000 power deals about the same dmg as someone with 2000 condi dmg or 2000 power alone.

If you have the variety of skills to apply both direct and condi dmg, which mesmer is certainly capable of having, the argument that neither your condis not your direct dmg will hurt the enemy is flat out wrong. Yes, alone either of them won’t do much, but because dmg scales linearly the dmg from both added together will hurt your target, very much, in fact about just as much as if you focused on one stat alone.

So, from a stats perspective, hybrid is perfectly fine. Whether or not we have the skills and traits to optimally pull it off and deliver the dmg from those hybrid stats is another discussion (I think we do).

Hey guys, I’m having problem running GEMFX after the patch recently. Before it, it was working fine. Everytime I start the game it says something about the CoherentUI. One work around is if i log off or restart my computer and right before everything load i start the game then it work. So does anyone know why that is?

I use to have long loading times (like 2-3mins) but never freezes… the problem was my hard drive was dying. got a new hard drive (ssd hard drive) and problem fix… but idk if your problem is due to the hard drive

Hi there, when i’m in WVW and when there’s a massive battle or even when there’s alot of AOE going on, my computer lag… i just want to put up my computer spec and see if anyone can tell me what I can change to improve the performance… My normal fps when just running around is about 35ish to 40ish and can drop to 20ish when there’s thing going on… 10 and below when massive battle and lots of AOE
