Nice post to get more decorating ideas.
Here is mine: http://imgur.com/a/BWmYE
I hope devs will make more decorations soon. They can never be enough…
PS: I need help, I am hooked. T_T
Well they could allow for ascended to change stats on the fly, like legendaries. Ow and even allow for different build templates to be saved and swapped instantly. That way every account would be complete with just 3 different armor sets, 1 or 2 of each different weapon, and 1 set of trinkets. Extra armour would still be usefull to avoid the need to transfer the full set when we would like to play another character, but not a requirement. Also another window could allow to swap sigils and runes for each wvw template (WvW exclusive of course). I would expect a major hit to the game economy after that and a big reduction to anets income, which is also the reason they wont ever do smth like that :P
<<Stops dreaming.>>
PS: Also a ton of complains. Because we are selfish and arrogant and don’t want every1 to get what we have
Thank you as well for all those WvW changes. They surely made wvw much more interesting and active and nobody can deny that
Having said that though I believe the polls are lacking options, they are oversimplified, both of them. Not to mention that there is no need to ask a question that you already know the answer to.
A simple "YES or “NO” doesn’t offer reliable information about what the community would prefer.
I love the reward track and I dont understand how people could vote NO to keep them perm? doesn’t you want rewards? wtf – YES keep the reward track in the future for gods sake.
Because the poll wasn’t entirely about the permanence of reward tracks (“NO” = “The changes still need work or should be removed entirely”).

Or just make a poll on the map to force unclaim objective.
I believe that its harder to implement a voting system. Thus I find OPs idea to be much better. To only allow guilds with higher-lvl aura override an objective claim.
Hmmm maybe they could implement an option to restrict their use if the keep/tower is uncontested? Not for every tactic but to those aimed for combat?
Thats basically what I would prefer, only let these types of things be usable if there are actually enemies attacking the structure. Right now its either make it unusable for anyone, or there is to much potential for trolling and accidental use.
Even that wouldn’t solve the problem entirely, only partially and also create a new problem.
a) The enemy with the free or 2nd account would still be able to contest and then activate every tactic by simply attacking the gates with his main account.
b) what if the enemy zerg doesn’t attack any wall/door and doesn’t get spotted by any guard for a period of time while still inside the keep/tower? Wouldn’t that uncontest the objective? (not probable but still possible). If that were to happen then you wouldnt be able to activate any combat tactic!
Maybe allow to guildies unconditional use of the tactics while keeping the restriction for the rest players? That would solve (partially again) the 2nd problem.
The matter is a bit complicated!!!
Also, there is a difference between a ROAMER actually capping camps and checkpoints while picking off stray players and KILLING them vs a dueler who just stands there outside smc 1v1ing til down state then letting them get back up.
The roamers actually contribute, thats an actual legitimate wvw playstylePS: dueling is FINE if there is no queue, but the moment your taking someone elses spot on the map that is actually trying to play the mode the way its intended is when you start being a problem
The arrogance of some ppl is unbelievable, you and the rest with the same mindset are the problem.
Hmmm maybe they could implement an option to restrict their use if the keep/tower is uncontested? Not for every tactic but to those aimed for combat?
They brought back abls? I am downloading the patch as we speak… OMG HYYYPEEEEEE!!!!
Though I would prefer them to be permanent and not a rotation T_T
They are sooo much better than dbls. Or ideally new bls with a similar to abl bls layout… anything but dbls
EDIT: Forgot to say ty so… THANK YOU ANET… WOHOOO
They should remove every bag slot and leave only one with like 4-5 slots… How is possible to wield a full set of equipment and also carry 20 blue weapons, 30 lootbags, 40 armor pieces, etc? it isnt realistic T_T
And plz don’t reply with: While fighting dragons using magic is realistic right? haven’t you ever read “Harry Potter”? The books are based on a true story…
The truth is out there!!!
I am horrible with JPs, but the sad truth is that ley line run is one of the easiest adventure to get gold on. Silver should be a cake walk. If you cannot do this easy challenge you quite frankly do not deserve the legendary.
I also fail to see how you spent 100 hours on the collection (in addition to the gold for the materials). Doing the nevermore collections takes like 1 or 2 evenings if you have the materials.Comments like this bother me. I’m embarassed to be apart of the community knowing I share it with people like you. Ley Line Run has a right time limit for players that aren’t as agile. It may be easy for you, but it isn’t for everyone. Your comment is neither encouraging nor beneficial to the discussion, which is a violation of the forum rules if I’m not mistaken.
You are over-exaggerating big-time. Plz remove “war” from your account name, then it would suit u :P The first comment may be a little tactless but he is right… games are about wining or losing and overcoming obstacles… I believe we only have the right to request nerfs if smth is broken, I don’t consider silver in any adventure to be broken. Do you? Especially regarding a skin! O_o
PS: If a game isn’t supposed to be challenging then… where is my bazooka to one-shot raid/fractal/etc bosses
To OP: Watch a gold youtube video (there are countless on the internet), learn your way around (learning each individual spot of the adventure separately is the key) and try to do the same thing. You will manage, I am sure of it. Maybe not on you first try but after… 5-10-20 tries. I also consider it an easy adventure compared with the rest of them and it isn’t supposed to give you a hard time. Maybe you were doing smth wrong? Taking a wrong turn or didn’t know which skill to use to pass over a specific gap? Adventures definitely don’t need pilot reflexes to acquire silver on them.

One minute of invuln is so OP and game breaking it’s not even funny- and for the weaker side trying to sneak an attack, it’s a killer.
The weaker side/smaller team will need much more time to break the wall or gate so the 1min invulnerability will be more important vs a stronger force which will be able to place 10 superior catas instead of 1-2. The percentage difference between starting the attack and finally opening the wall will be higher the more siege you use. So even if it helps both sides (stronger/weaker side) it is stronger against massive numbers of siege.
Yes.
That said, we’ll be increasing the cooldowns on all tactics by 5-10 minutes. Also, once the scribing costs come down, as part of the april build, we can start looking at rebalancing their actual effects as well.
5-10 minutes frankly means very little. The effects of having a banner for just a single fight or offense can frankly set the tone for the rest of the week.
Can they please just be removed entirely? I understand that content featured and produced in HoT doesn’t want to be redacted for PR reasons, but in all honesty, banners are really just an objectively bad addition to the game for numerous mechanical reasons, which ultimately and individually tie back to production costs/the systematic removal of small/community guild effectiveness in WvW and an over-emphasis on massive guilds dominating the WvW scene, which ties back to population concerns and server stacking, all of which are fundamental problems in the format which supposedly are trying to be addressed.
You are right. Even if the use of banners is interesting and nerfed alot already, they change the mechanics completely and grant a great deal of grp support/damage to just one person (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Saved_by_the_Shell). Having said that though I don’t know how they could remove them without guilds starting to complain about how they lost valuable resources to unlock those. They cant (and will not) keep every1 happy. I would h8 to be an anet developer atm :P
One important problem of the tactics/improvements/claims is that they neglect casual small guilds that were made for roaming/strike teams. So many of those guilds became useless and abandoned. I think nerfing the wvw ghall costs and level requirements would help the matter a lot. Ow and also tie the claim ability to structural buffs to avoid troll guilds because even if troll guilds reduced dramatically with the introduction of ghalls (costs etc) there are still guilds that claim a keep permanently without any buff (Enemy guild?).
I don’t believe that everything is black or white. in my opinion removing some tactics will actually harm wvw (or atleast the outnumbered side) while others will only improve our wvw experience. Many ppl tend to think that all tactics are ewul … but some actually help as a last resort vs servers with double ur numbers, while others are kind of useless.
Some examples:
Minor supply drop (gives 100 supply): I think this one is the most versatile tactic, u need to play smart to use it efficiently. Lets face it, it wont save you against a blob if u only have a few ppl inside ur keep. But…if u are against, lets say; 6 enemies that place siege outside a tower you solely defend, you can use those 100 supps to place a bali or an ac in such a position that will kill the enemy siege b4 they breach into ur tower. They will eventually cap the tower if they insist but u may force them to resupply 2 times till they do and choose diff spots for their siege… so I believe that one supports outnumbered servers and rewards smart play.
Emergency WP (Creates an uncontestable wp for 1min): This one is an example of a bad tactic. The team that uses this will be able to restart the fight instantly and for 1min to have every1 that is dying coming back. Discarding any fear/consequences of death so usually it supports the side that has more people that play badly. In theory it may help an outnumbered server by keep porting back, but in reality…I’ve seen it mostly abused by the strongest side (that plays poorly) to reset the fight 2-3 times(it becomes tiring). The reason why it is mostly abused by the strongest side is because if they outnumber u it takes near the reactivation time to kill every1 so… by the time you have killed them all they can reactivate it (20mins cd). It needs to either be removed or nerfed…
Chilling fog (chill for 1min): Sounds…impressive, but…it never changed the outcome of a fight for me… I don’t think it is that good.
Dune roller (summons a charr motorcycle that grants high mobility): Utterly useless but… extremely fun to use. I don’t know why would any1 want that removed?
Invulnerable Fortifications (walls and doors become immune to all sorts of damage for 1min): Useful to give you enough time to call buddies to help you defend. can be used effectively by both the outnumbered and the strong side. I don’t think removing it will help or damage wvw.
Armored Dolyaks (Dolies gain increased health/toughness) : Useless in general like most of the camp upgrades. Camps flip so easily and fast that they are only a waste of resources.
Cloaking waters & Airship defense: Completely broken. Those tactics only help the already stronger/winning side I believe they should finaly remove them both. The side that controls sm for that long to enable those is already strong enough for a fair fight and doesn’t need boosts. Not to mention that those are super expensive to craft, so its easier for the server with the most wvw guilds/ppl to use them, which makes them even more unfair. AD though is sooo impressive that I will miss its visual effects if they choose to remove it
That’s just my opinion ofc but… After countless times of using them, I think that most of the tactics don’t have such a great impact to the balance of wvw. With the exception of some (that need to be nerfed or removed) most tactics are only giving diversity to wvw or are just useless.
Don’t judge poorly every tactic cause some are overpowered. Anet needs to fix those, not to remove everything that is HOT related.
PS: Don’t forget the countless guilds that will start whining after having all their already-payed upgrades removed without compensation.
considering I’m the only one in our guild bringing in those clouds and we don’t have a scribe at a high enough level to craft the really fun things, we decided to wait till the scribing update. In the meantime I’ll just gather more clouds
You can acquire like 16 bauble bubbles per day =160 clouds + 40 from the easy/fast furniture shops if u don’t need the super skins and I don’t think the price will drop much even after the scribing update because SAB decors need the t1 finishing kit, they probably wanted to keep SAB and future recipes cheap even b4 the aforementioned update. If you need a scriber I will gladly craft them for you, just whisper me in game.
I would like to post smth else than staircases and like the OP said:
They’re really versatile, really big, and really good value for ingredients. Brilliant addition!
Such potential T_T
I can’t believe that I am playing sims in gw2. If only they would implement a single decoration removal skill and double the current decoration limit per area, I would be extremely happy
I am looking forward to seeing the reduced prices of the rest decorations, because price is a limiting factor of our artistic creativity
Very good job Anet devs/designers. Thank you for all of those decorations (and for SAB ofc).
Does anyone know if the upcoming patch is going to address the ascended weapon gear grind at all, months to make an item slightly better than an exotic i can buy to keep consistent with the latest content is pretty poor design?
Any idea if this is going to be addressed soon or ever?
If not is it smarter to just move on again?
Well, if it makes you feel better, due to how damage is calculated and weapon damage serving as the base number for exponential increase, the difference between an exotic and ascended weapon is actually pretty big with the damage difference being I think between 20-30%.
(But the armor still kind of sucks)
Exotic Greatsword lvl 80 raw damage: 995-1100 = 1047.5
Ascended/Legendary Greatsword raw damage: 1045-1155 = 1100
=> [1-(1100/1047.5)]*100= ~5.01% raw damage increase
Ascended also provide higher stats:
Exotic greatsword total stats distribution (3stats): 581
Ascended Greatsword total stats distribution (3stats): 609
=> [1-(609/581)]*100= ~4.82% stat increase
Keep in mind that the 4.82% stat increase doesn’t translate to direct damage increase as there are additional factors to consider like base stat allocation, traits,
also power > to precision/ferocity (usually) for raw damage, traits/utilities that increase power/precision/ferocity, the equations given on gw2 wiki and the list goes on :P
I would guess smth like a 2-3% damage increase at best from stats (if u swap every slot for ascended and not only the weapons) and a 5% raw damage increase (from the weapon only), so the weapon is by far the most important slot for me (for direct damage dealers not condi ones). So for a power build you can just craft the weapons and acquire the trinkets with laurels/gmissions/fractals. I would also leave armor slots for last or not make them at all. Except if I am missing smth important

That’s what I understand:
#1: Upgrades are still automatic with the “luxury” to delay them. TY devs
#2: (hidden msg): the new bls will stay.
I don’t understand why you just don’t hear the majority of your players?
Do you prefer watching wvw dying completely? and losing that player base?
WvW has already been damaged beyond repair. This doesn’t mean that you should not fix the wvw game mode. Too many ppl/guilds left or abandoned wvw. Some will return if the changes are good and some will not. But there are also new players, there will be new blood in wvw if you do the overhaul right.
My thoughts:
#1: Somehow remove auto upgrades, allow for real ppl interaction. As it has been stated numerous times already that causes an activity on random parts of the maps and gives ppl a reason to visit the camps/towers/keeps. The ability to delay the upgrades is something but not enough.
#2: New bls don’t have the required design for a pvp map. Too many obstacles, too big altitude difference and ofc too much pve interaction. For a pvp map it needs to be simpler (less is more), open and easily approachable. That verticality… is a killer!!!
(Imps as guards?Really?)
#1&2: Seriously now the new design failed to meet your and our expectations if you are unsure about the new changes just revert the bls/upgrade system to the old one.
Soo many times me and some friends were capturing towers for fun and upgrading them fully to have the right to say that its our tower and we were defending that tower till we die completely and get owned. We were losing hours just for that and we were having soo much fun by doing it. We were killing visitors/enemies that were trying to capture the tower etc…
I just cant get myself to enjoy the new system I love the new guild hall wvw toys you gave us with the expansion and everything (still too grindy for a mode that doesn’t sustain itself) but are useless if that game mode dies or is empty… why would I give dollies super speed if everything is always completely full? BLs are not-friendly to roamers any more and that’s where roamers would go for some old-fashioned small scaled XvX.
Like someone said already: That’s not a step to the right direction it’s more like a step not to the wrong direction.
-Edit-
#3: I hope that ppk is actually per stomp or else it will promote blobing. :P
#4: The rally change sounds very good maybe change it to 2 players to rally to support
small-team fights.
