OK so let a guild commander and leader from DB give you some feedback instead of this sad bs. As for the blob thing, let me just say that yes we have blobs, and those blobs are getting more and more coordinated. The less experienced (fighters) are scrimming every week, the more experienced are coordinating with the less experienced more and more. DB was on the rise before the bandwagon begun, it’s why there are guild jumping ship to DB. Because DB has 2 things going for it:

1: A great community with a well-run alliance that is focused more on the community health and fun than the wvw victories, (we seriously discussed 2 weeks ago how badly we DIDNT want to rise too fast in the rankings, cause we just wanna have fun not deal with the crap)

2: Experience. DB and it’s long-time guilds have played with the best, and have played with the worst and everything in between. As one of the original WVW guilds on DB at launch, i can personally attest to this. As much as people like to hate on the “blob” we work well together with our guilds because most of the commanders have a ton of experience and know what works and what doesn’t.

Will we run blobs up and down your borderlands? Dam right we will, we’ll also make sure we have several scouts on all parts of the map, 2-5 havok groups roaming, flipping feeding info, and protecting stuff and then the blobs will exploit the openings when you look to respond. Not apologizing for good strategy, sorry to the servers that have been getting beaten, but this will be the first week with new transfers, so what have the last 3 weeks said with just original DB guilds?

Basically the state of DB wvw is very healthy right now, the TS is very active, the leadership has a solid head on its shoulders just looking for laughs and a good time for the entire community and all the guilds do a great job of communicating with each other in and out of wvw. (makes it handy when you can whisper all the commanders at once regardless of what they’re doing and let them know we’re about to lose bay, please send help, typically at least 20 players will show up to defend within seconds.)

Do we have flaws? of course. But DB is not full of blobbing noobs and it is not just some server that’s riding a wave. Anybody that has played this game for years and ACTUALLY paid attention will have a level of respect for DB guilds and their ability to perform effectively in WvW (shoutout to 2012 T2, good times.) Hopefully this was a bit more enlightening from a longest-time DB member.

Not perfect, but i promise you this: Very few servers can offer you the fun and entertainment as a community and a place to just straight enjoy GW2 in all it’s glory quite like DB can.

PS: As GFC commented above, our roamers are fantastic, but they really only come out to shine before and after the primetime fighting. I have a few roamers in my guild that are some of the best, as does a lot of the guilds on the server, it’s just how they enjoy spending time. It’s not uncommon to see groups of 2-5 players with different tags roaming around random BL’s just causing hell and looking for gudfights. WvW is home to those guys lol. That’s where they like to play. i have no comment on the new transfers quite yet as i’ve only had 2 opportunities to play with them thus far, but so far I have nothing bad to say, so that’s a good start

Hello there my fellow Guild Wars 2 players! I’m out looking for 2-3 active officers for a guild that is well worth the time and investment for those of you like me that just love the organizational side of all things guild related. Let me tell you a little about our guild, and what I’m looking for in officers.

Epic:
the Muffins have been around since before launch on DB. We started with setting up the foundations of a community via guild launch at the time, and also communicated through our voice chat and our facebook (all before the game even launched). Upon Launch, we quickly rose to the top as one of DB’s most recognizable guilds in both WvW and PvE content (back then we’d clear the cathedrals with only Epic, then all of DB as more guilds wanted in, sadly no more cathedrals… was a great community event) and it’s something we are still doing our best to maintain to this day.

However, the guild lied dormant for 2 years after a falling out that occurred roughly a year and half after launch. I came back 3 months ago to rebuild what once was, and I haven’t let up. In just 3 months we took a dead guild and built it into a community with roughly 80 unique log ins a day (and climbing) and a roster of 410 players as of this posting. (we already kicked inactives down to 350 just last week, so we bring players in all the time). At peak hours, (usually 4-8 pacific) we tend to have anywhere from 35-60 players on depending on the day, and during the quieter hours of the day, we sit at around 18-28 players. We host daily events with a schedule, a lot of random stuff not scheduled during the day, and we keep our players as updated as possible on everything.

We do all of this, and i work so hard to keep everything active because we are all about the community, we are all about focusing on the single most important fact of all games and that is, we are here to have fun. It’s a getaway from work, from bills, from stress, we’re all here to enjoy it in our own way and to have a blast together as a community both as a guild and, while in Epic, as a server within Dragonbrand as well.

What i want in Officers:
- commitment to a schedule (life comes first, but I need active consistent officers)
- players willing to help, teach, and entertain guild members
- positive, patient players that understand it’s not about them, it’s about the guild.
- nobody who’s looking to take over, this is a very old, and successful system that has led to fantastic success multiple times, i don’t need your brand new way of running things.
- players that aren’t afraid to bring forward ideas, step up to run events, or share honest feedback during officer meetings, or just during private conversations.
- Somebody who understands our key philosophy which is it’s all about the fun. I run a guild cause it’s fun. My players love Epic cause it’s fun, and i want my officers to be having fun too!

Perks:
I don’t pay my officers, i don’t pay myself. If you’re stepping up as a leader in an extremely active guild that plays an ever-increasingly active role in their server because i expect you to know how to farm. Epic players can play how they want, where they want in any content they want, same applies to my officers, however, the officers get an inside say on what events the guild runs, any rule changes or policy adjustments that need to be made, as well as the loving adoration of hundreds of random people you’ve never met. But honestly, if you’re applying for this, you understand the perks are just the pure pleasure of doing something that you have fun doing and enjoy being a part of.

I also request that you be willing to transfer to Dragonbrand if you’re not already on it. We can discuss transfer fees if we must.

Sorry for the long post everybody, but my guild is a serious matter to me so I wanted to provide as much info as I could on the initial thread so I can answer as many questions that may come up and provide an image of what the guild is like and what we’re about.

Hey Remix how’s it going I’m one a guild leader of one of the larger guilds on DB and I’ve been on DB since launch, as well as helped out with the WvW alliance that has always existed on DB (except for when i took a break, obviously) so let me shed some light on the current state of DB and our WvW conditions.

WvW is generally pretty active at primetime, (4pm pacific – 8pm pacific) we tend to run into large enough coordinated groups on every borderland (typically the owner of the BL, and there’s usually one other server attempting to attack) and EBG is always poppin as well. DB lacks an EU presence so you won’t see much action earlier in the day and our night crew is still T1/T2 material (NNK, gotta love em). you can find some coordinated zergs pretty often, sometimes even coordinated maps. The guilds work really well together. However, we are rising up through the tiers atm, while we were tier 6 last week, tier 5 this week (and crushing our matchup) I’m not entirely sure how much more we will be rising. Nobody is in a hurry to rise through the tiers too fast, we really are happy growing steadily but comfortably at a pace where we can keep up with the change and keep the community on point.

Speaking of community, there has been a lot of push towards rebuilding the awesome community that once existed within DB as a whole in pve as well as wvw. We have begun discussions on ways to bring the DB pve community together and not just rely on our WvW guilds. Lately the coordination in wvw has been progressing by leaps and bounds amongst the wvw guilds of DB (im attributing our wins the last few weeks to this for the most part) and we’d like to expand that coordination to pve. If we can bridge the gap between all our pve players and our WvW players, we will be back at tier 2 in no time.

Basically to sum it up: DB is in a state of improvement. In every aspect of the game and as a community, DB operates as it did in the first year of launch, only we’re on our way to T2, not already fighting in it lol. It really is a wonderful and fun community to be a part of and i plan to do what i can to keep it that way, and I know most of the other guild leaders and server heads feel the same way. Anet fixing the servers and their population to reflect WvW pops will really help us get back to where we were, in good time. We’re in no rush lol.

Hello Guild Wars 2 community! I am the leader of Epic Muffins and I wanna tell all you guild wars 2 peeps about one of the oldest guild communities in GW2.

Epic started before the first beta weekend did, we had our website, and our facebook and our voice comms servers all running before the first beta even hit, why? because we loved Guild Wars 2 and we still do. While the original guild eventually fell off after 2 years, we kept the tag and took some time away, just to return 2 months ago with renewed vigor and excitement about rebuilding the behemoth that was Epic Muffins.

Well gang, we’ve just about succeeded. 360 members in less than 7 weeks. We’re still based out of Dragonbrand like we were always and we still do EVERYTHING this game has to offer. We do it all because we love it all. I don’t wanna just be running dungeons or only know how to pvp or just play World v World. NO! We love the giant world that ANET has built and we want our members to have access to other players that love to do what they love to do.

We have a long history as far as guilds go and tons of experience in making sure that the players have a blast. We ask for 100% rep because to us, it’s not about what aspects of content a guild can provide, it’s about the fun and community. (also if you wanna transfer to DB we’d love you even more xD we’re trying to see jsut how big our WvW zergs can get with Epic tags)

Bumpidity bump! We’re still swapping out inactives and we finally unlocked guild treks! means we should have even more fun guild events to keep doing.

Well we lost a few small guilds this week i believe, but for the numbers that we’ve been bringing in i think it might only be a very small setback

I’m a little confused. On your guild recruitment post like 10-12 days ago, you had 400 people in your guild. So….where are these people?

Anyways I hope your successful at bringing life back into the server!

491 as of today, unfortunately only 63 of those currently reside on DB that are active, there are another 125 from DB that are inactive (im slowly going to be removing them… its sad) HOWEVER, we are now mounting large scale guild-run activities to fundraise the gold needed to buy the gems to transfer the players that can’t transfer themselves. Not counting the players that are actively transferring themselves.

To give you an idea of how fast we’re growing these numbers, we began rebuilding the guild from only 180 members just 32 days ago, we’re now at 491. 2 weeks ago our wvw groups would be lucky to have 8 players at primetime, as of today we had 17 DB players ready to go. i have 4 more confirmed active accounts coming to DB by Wednesday, and that doesn’t include what we’ll recruit by then or who may transfer that im not aware of yet.

So our presence in wvw may be “less than expected” by the more persistant groups but i can assure you, we’re making more and more of an impact with each passing week. We also tend to operate on maps that the other guilds are not on. For instance, should DB be losing it’s points to DH, we’ll attack DH BL with at least 10-15 players and start flipping their holdings. basically it neutralizes the numbers they’re trying to gain. We did it for a good 2 hours today when AR tried to mount a small comeback around 330pm Pacific til about 6.

Anyways, there’s some insight on what we’re doing to help the server and how quickly we’re trying to achieve it. It also doesn’t help that the only experienced wvw commander we have is me, and im having to teach as I go along as alot of our players have been plucked from pve. Which i believe is somethign DB needs to do more.

lol I do have a guild and it is DB based and i have members from other servers transferring over to DB every day within the guild, not counting the new DB recruits we’re already bringing in.

I agree rally sucks and rallying off an animal is even worse. I would love all the wildlife in WvW to become friendly.

The worst thing is when a Doe runs into the middle of and starts attacking this giant group of people with bombs and guns and magic going off everywhere. Just dumb.

So you have a hard time believing in an aggressive doe, but you don’t have an issue with magic, guns, and bombs in the same area? Logic for the win
