I think it would be pretty cool if arenanet put more puzzle elements into dungeons. I dont want all of the dungeons to have puzzles, because that would get dull, but having 1 path on exp with significant puzzle elements that require teamwork to get past would be pretty cool
I think that is how they should redesign the asura path in SE (I’m sorry, its terrible – absolutely terrible). Since we are breaking into a lab, instead of 15 groups of super duper soldiers protecting it, they should have an awesome security system that, if we do it right, we can sneak on by without triggering any of the alarms (and mobs). Once we get through it, the boss will be waiting for us at the end
If you fail and trip the alarm, golems or what have you come crashing down on you and you get a hard fight. I think that would be a really cool dungeon, especially if they require teamwork to get passed the puzzle so youd have to communicate effectively and work as a team. I also think that would damper some of the criticism (dont agree) that dungeons dont require teamwork. Well, this definitely would.
I know i would enjoy running that type of dungeon for a nice change of pace

I love the elixir gun. If you spec Kit refinement, you are a condition removing machine. Really really helpful in dungeons. Sure, it doesnt do a whole lot of damage, and i only use the 3 and 5 ability, but i got my grenades for damage and grenades and rifle for control
I dont really play a whole lot of WvW (lagfest) or spvp, so i dont really no how it does in there, but elxir gun and elixir R are awesome in dungeons

Achievments - dungeons - show what paths youve done and still need to do

Basically, I am suggesting this because while I have done the story for AC and all 3 paths, I still only have 3/4 in the AC dungeon achievements.
Obviously, I didnt get credit for one, but the problem is, is that I have no idea which path I didnt get credit for. This sounds like a relatively easy fix and would be quite convenient for me and other players who have experienced a similar issue since instead of doing all 3 paths again, I could simply do the one path I know i still need to complete
Im okay with the whole " you get nothing until the end" thing. However, it was my first run of the day on ANY dungeon.. and i ended up getting 15 tokens compared to the 60 we are supposed to get. Anet needs to fix this and i want the other 45 tokens for my wasted time : /
That would be awesome, but i have a feeling that the people who didnt get the full sixty are simply going to be out of luck.
I just did a CoE run and got 30 tokens while someone in my group got 15 and others got 60.
Thats a very weird bug. I want my 60 tokens
For the submarine path, how do you beat that one input code room? My group had a TON of trouble with it. We beat it, but we died a ton.
Well, I would say that that is a problem with dungeon design, and not the exchange system.
Plus, my suggestion means that you get half of the tokens you put in, so unless the dungeon gear you want is incredibly hard to complete, and another dungeon is super easy, it will most likely be more efficient to run the dungeon that has your desired dungeon gear.
I would say that this system benefits people who want to play a wide range of dungeons, not solely do one or two. And the people who want to get the gear in the most efficient way possible can still run the dungeon to their hearts content.
The only way that this benefits the efficiency people is if the dungeon difficulty is completely borked.
I know a number of people here, me included, do not find the prospect of doing the same dungeon over and over and over again if you want to get a full set from a specific dungeon. I agree that getting those unique sets should require some work, but playing the same dungeon 50+ times is not fun. I think arenanet, it attempting to make sure that all of its content stayed viable (extremely successful in world pve), put viability of their dungeon content over player fun. Problem is, less people will play those dungeons if they think the rewards take too much work
My suggestion is simple. I have 70 AC tears that i do not plan on using. I just got them because i wanted to do the dungeon to check it out and have some fun. Right now, I cant do anything with them. I suggestion that there be a mystic forge recipe.
You put your unwanted dungeon tokens into the forge along with a new item sold by the dungeon loot sellings in LA (to indicate what new tokens you want) and something like Dust or an item sold by miyani. Stick it all into the forge and you get half of the tokens you put in, but for the dungeon you actually want. So 70 unwanted AC turns into 35 wanted CoE
I think this has a number of benefits. Right now, I am looking at an absurd amount of CoE runs. Besides that not sounding all that fun and rather daunting, it really kinda puts me off to doing other dungeons as well since there is only so many dungeons you can do before you get ‘dungeoned’ out
Since this change will let me play different dungeons put still get rewards for the gear that I actually want, If i see someone in guild chat saying, hey, who wants to do some HotW explorable? I think i would be much more inclined.
Right now, how the system is set up incentivizes players to focus on one of two explorable dungeons and ignore the rest. I dont think that is a very good system since if you are going for an set in an unpopular dungeon then you are going to have a very difficult time. And perhaps more importantly the change would help promote guildies helping guildies to do dungeon runs – cooperation – something that arenanet did great in PvE, but, i think, has done rather poorly in dungeon
A possible issue with this is that people might start avoiding dungeons and solely focusing on the more interesting/fun or easier ones. I dont see that is a problem with my suggestion. I see that as a problem with those unpopular dungeons, and that they need to be fixed. This will still make running the dungeon of your dungeon set the most efficient way to get it, it simply wont be the only way
Others might like the grind and the prestige that comes with it, but I dont think dungeon sets should be like that. They should be challenging, but fun to get. running the same dungeon a billion times isnt fun. Running a bunch of dungeons with a focus on or two sounds a lot more fun. Grinding and prestige should be left to the legendaries (have no problem with how that is set up)
If this recipe actually exists, well, I think arenanet should do better job of getting the word out because i looked around and couldnt find any recipe like this
