you can’t accept the reward without choosing a skin

This. You can either delay the chest or get a skin with it.

Ah I see. Guess I’ll get it later today then. Thanks for the help.

So I opened my 1k achiev chest and accidentally closed it without choosing my zenith weapon skin.

I’ve checked my inv just to be sure, nothing there. I’ve checked the achievement rewards unlocked window, nothing. I can’t reopen the chest. Is this a bug or am I just being extraordinarily stupid and missing something?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!.

So I opened my 1k achiev chest and then accidentally closed it without choosing a zenith weapons skin. I’ve checked my inv, nothing. I’ve checked my achievment rewards tab, it’s not waiting there. I can’t reopen the chest. Do I have to hit 2k achievs to have a chance at getting a zenith skin again, or am I missing something? This seems like a bug, but I have no idea.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To reply to colesy:

You have a right to your own opinions, and I respect that right. However, I feel like you may generalize a bit too much when it comes to certain statements.

Just because someone may play a support role does not mean they are bad. Some groups are new, inexperienced, or simply don’t have the DPS to down a boss before they themselves die. Why would I yell at them for being bad when I can give them a bit of extra healing using support weapons and get them through the dungeon? You were not personally in the group, and as such I would ask you to refrain from assuming everyone was bad and I was simply being bad along with them. If I had to run that dungeon a million times, I would do the exact same thing. I was playing a shout guardian at the time. I would prefer to contribute to DPS, but since I kept the group alive, I felt completely justified playing a supporting role. If you do not agree with me, that’s fine, but there’s no need to be rude or offensive about it.

And while for CoF all zerker gear and a certain group composition may be just fine, I would argue that as a whole, having a group that may not be optimal but communicates and has a good time is much more beneficial to everyone than having a surly group of 4 war 1 mes in zerker screaming at each other every time someone dies. I would still maintain that, for doing dungeons and group play as a whole, having a group full of people with good attitudes and finishing a run friendly individuals is always and will always be more satisfying to me than speedrunning a dungeon where noone talks except to be a kitten. Again, the method you use to run dungeons is your own and I respect that, but please try not to disparage someone just because you disagree with them.

I enjoy taking a new person through a dungeon and teaching them how to run it. I do not require everyone to be a certain class or have full zerker gear. Why would I? I don’t mind sacrificing a few minutes of efficiency to make sure everyone has a good time or gets that final dungeon run that they need. Your way of running dungeons may be different than mine, and I respect that. People like you push the edge of dungeon content and do valuable things for the community. However, that doesn’t mean you need to call anyone who disagrees with you ‘bad’ or ‘trash’. Excluding certain classes and there for entire groups of people from every dungeon that you run is most certainly not helpful to the community in any way.

Have a nice day sir.

Survey: 2 weeks or 1 month?

I’m going away to Kansas City for three weeks starting tomorrow. If that means I miss out on aetherblade weapon skins, you may expect a rather angry post on the forums once I get back. This exact thing happened to me with Flame and Frost. I was gone, so I lost out on the chance to get Braham’s shield/mace, which as a bunker guardian was rather depressing.

I accept content being temporary, but skins and cosmetic improvements should never end up being a one time offer that you permanently miss out on if you go on vacation. Players shouldn’t be punished for taking a short break from the game.

So I would prefer 1 month content, even if it will never happen.

The moment he starts using scepter or staff is when you boot or if it’s not your party, you leave. I don’t ever run with trash like that.

If they have an elitist mentality (Zerk armor is best for every dungeon, no exceptions) They need to leave.

How exactly is that an elitist mentality? I would agree if you said something like “If you don’t run Zerk armour you’re a poopy noob”, but thinking/saying that Zerk is just the best, without abusing people for not using it? I’m not sure I can agree with you, that’s not being elitist.

I guess I meant for it to tie in with the whole “refusing to accept other people’s opinions” thing, but I agree it was unclear. What I mean was, now there seems to be a large number of people who will kick you from groups if you’re not wearing zerker gear without even hearing the reasons why. That kind of intolerant, “My way or the highway” attitude just doesn’t work in dungeons, and that’s what I meant to say.

For a group to be successful, it has to be cohesive, which means party members have to work together/listen to each other. My point was that that type of “zerker or I’ll kick you/trashtalk you for not knowing how to play the game” attitude simply doesn’t work for me, and if I’m the dungeon leader, I’ll kick someone who has that attitude. Basically, I’m agreeing with you.

You really should edit your post and use another term. Lots of geniuses misunderstanding what you mean with skipping.

I understood it. He means how players jump the gates and get straight to the assassins.

I’m so proud of you.

I ran a quick 8 minute CoF p1 yesterday with 2 thieves, 1 warrior, 1 guardian, and a ranger. not quite as wacky a comp as yours, but far from the “meta” setup.

Posts like this thread make me happy. I really don’t understand the whole “zerker all day war/mes only” mentality, when everything else gets the same thing done around 1 minute slower and twice as safely. Meta is just a stupid concept in general.

The moment he starts using scepter or staff is when you boot or if it’s not your party, you leave. I don’t ever run with trash like that.

….What? WHAT?

As a guardian main who pugs frequently, this is blanket statement that is just wrong. Have you ever been in a group with 2 thieves, 1 ranger, and 1 elementalist? I have. I was using staff and playing support almost constantly to keep them alive. The moment I would switch to a non-support weapon, one of them would go down with their paper armor in flames. I was using shouts and tome of courage constantly, and we still barely made it out of most fights intact. If I refused to heal with the staff and go bunker with the mace/shield, we never would have succeeded.

To answer the OP: Acceptable pug behavior is this to me:
1: Is the person competent with the basic fundamentals of their class? They can stay
2: Are they willing to learn and listen if they are new? If yes, they can stay
3: Are they friendly/helpful to other new/inexperienced group members? If yes, they can stay.

If they disparage other party members constantly, they need to leave. If they have an elitist mentality (Zerk armor is best for every dungeon, no exceptions) They need to leave. If they refuse to accept other party member’s mistakes/refuse to listen to other party member’s opinions, they need to leave.

Based on this, I would have kicked the guy.

I’ve full completed p2 about as many times as I’ve “skipped” it because the rest of the group wanted me to.

My answer: It isn’t because of laziness or incompetence. Suggesting that every player who uses the skip is one of the two is a blanket statement that doesn’t take into account too many factors. What about everyone who doesn’t want to skip, but the rest of the group does? I’m not gonna pull mobs and be a kitten, or let them four man it, which would also be a kitten move. And p2 runs are hard enough to find I don’t want to leave. Being put in this situation doesn’t make you lazy. If you do it, are you Crumbling under a certain form of peer pressure? Maybe. Still, that doesn’t make you lazy or incompetent, just means you’re put in an untenable situation.

The entire “exploit” isn’t even the players’ fault. GW2 living world content takes about a day on average to finish (excepting the dungeons maybe) and with nothing better to do since launch, you can’t really fault the players for finding any and all exploits in the game that they can use to streamline their experience. It’s Anet’s job to make sure the game is relatively bug-free and un-exploitable. If they can’t do this, can you fault the players for taking advantage of this fact?

I wouldn’t. My position on exploits in games is this: If they’re widely known, and nothing is done about them by the game’s developer, you can’t expect people not to use them because it is “morally wrong”. If people find an easier way to do something, and the exploit shows no sign of being fixed, they will use it because why wouldn’t they? P2 vets who’ve run the dungeon hundreds of times will use it just to break up the monotony. New players will use it to get tokens/gold faster.

Until Anet fixes the exploit or acknowledges it, you can’t really blame the player base for using it.

The dark armor is purchased with 180 badges of honor from WvWvW. Check out named exotic sets such as Rurik’s armor for a more savage/barbarian look, and preview the dungeon sets from the set vendors in fort mariner. If you find one you like, start running the dungeon daily to get it.

Also, this site is kittening amazing: http://argos-soft.net/GW2ArmorGallery/index.php?sex=0&weight=3&race=3&color=10.

This game deserves a huge thumbs up, never played anything like it. Captures everything I love about video games. Awesome job guys.

This. Even if I disagree with some of Anet’s decisions, they’re far and away better than anything any other company in terms of MMOs. By far the best MMORPG on the market right now, and they get way less love than they deserve.

I just bought 1000 dragon coffers and got a skin ticket, so I got the avenger. So here’s my new avenger style guardian:

The dyes used are evergreen, abyss, and lifeblood.

The armor skin is the WvWvW dark armor skin (The last heavy armor skin sold by the skin vendor in WvWvW) and the weapon skin is the Dragon’s Jade Avenger skin.

Survey: Want Ascended Armors & Weapons?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Piper Hecht.6538

Piper Hecht.6538

No. I do not want new weapons/armor until they fix the current system.

Getting exotics is easy. Getting legendary’s, not so much. I would much rather they add in a better way to get precursors, and revamp the legendary weapons to not involve so much grind. Being able to embark on a story quest type adventure, full of epicocity and awesomness in order to gain a legendary, rather than farming for 100’s of hours for mats/gold to get one would be awesome. even if it meant it was soulbound. The quest could take 30 hours, whatever, it’d still be better than the current system. I don’t want weapons better than legendary’s being introduced until a player who’s been playing less than 9 months can achieve getting a legendary without enormous amounts of trouble.

Also, knowing Anet, anything introduced to upscale your exotic weps/honor would cost 100 laurels, be a .00001% chance to drop consumable from one mob in one dungeon that everyone would farm, or it would be in a RNG chest.

So no, I don’t want Ascended gear yet.

It’s true.. the males have this absolutely stupid looking enormous cog sticking way out of the shoulders & the Females have a cool looking machine attached correctly behind.

But since they haven’t even fixed the massive amount of clipping & bulging, I highly doubt they’ll fix what they did on purpose.

It’s a shame too.

Godkitten it Anet, I just wanna have the ability to look decent without grinding for gear!.

We female charrs and asurans wear only male outfits…so whatcha talking about -__-.

You’re right. My main point here was that, at least from my perspective, the sylvari and human female heavy armor Aetherblade skins look far better than the skins for the Asurans, Charr, and the Norn and Human males, and that it would be fantastic to have an option to change which version of the skin you use.

The Female Aetherblade skins look better?

Piper Hecht.6538

So a bit earlier I saw a human female character who had equipped the Aetherblade heavy armor skin, and it looked quite a bit different from the skin equipped on my human male. Here’s a link to the wiki:

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Aetherblade_Heavy_Armor_Skin

You may need to highlight it, right click, and click “go to link” but it should work.

Anyways, in my opinion the shoulderpad for the human and sylvari females looks way better than the kitten y gear standing up and kind of floating (?) above the shoulderpads of the Asura, Charr, and Human Males.

Is there a reason for this? If so, could the male armor have the option to be changed? Or maybe I’m completely wrong. The helmet for the female armor also looks better. Anyways, just wondering what this was about. Any help would be much appreciated. Have a great time in Tyria everyone!.

Oh! I love the name Skadi, it’s really Norn-ish. The Thundersteel sounds like a surname a Norn would have, considering the surname of the NPCs in the game, it’s a nice choice.

My Hunter is Agnes Löfgren, I just like the name Agnes and looked around for a surname to go with it, nothing too fancy…

very nice… Agnes is a strong name, which fits well with the norn.

Mine is named Ingvar Shieldstrom, a nord whom I invented for a roleplaying game with friends awhile back. Thought it fit and I already had a detailed backstory for the guy, so I went with it.
