Guild Wars 2

I’m not sure if this counts as a bug or a glitch or if it’s just to do with my graphic settings (though i put everything up to high and it didn’t change) but the colouring and shine effects of the Kasmeer Regal outfit are quite drastically different on your character to the hero panel!

I’m so glad other people thought this! I was worried I would be the only one >_<
I must have died 15-20 times on my PS warrior, I figured how to break his bar immediately but still the amount of aoe’s and the small space, the special action de-buff, the constant cc from everything in the room. If I wasn’t dead on the floor then I was stuck to it or being thrown across it by something. And the Jade construct that spawns during one of his shielding phases just adds more chaos to the mix! It was a great story, really funny and full of content but this fight, especially after being disconnected once and stuck in a wall the second try, it did try my patience. It felt more like a solo raid boss than a story boss, which is fine if you give me a bigger room to work with!

Yeah the same thing happened to me, I was running the story solo and after a server crash that had already made me restart the instance I rushed through and then found myself stuck in the door to Caudecus’ room! I did use “/stuck” which worked for me but it teleported me out to the beginning of the map again! I did defeat him in the end but I was very worried i’d have to restart a third time.

Picture the scene, it’s the Tarir meta event, it’s going beautifully! We’re going to succeed! But suddenly, a loading screen! Our whole map shut down and the event reset, unable to retry because it’s technically over! I don’t know what happened but I hope it doesn’t happen to anyone else

I found it a little underwhelming. As did most other people I guess. I was in a full map of happy, excited people all counting the minutes till he spawned which was great! And then when it was over, there was no “oh that was cool!” or anything of the like just, “oh, is that it?” The rework is nice but with the mixture of lag and his low health it just seems a little… meh. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy as hell that an old boss got a tune up I just feel like it could have done with a little extra something.

I do wish we had a separate starting story for revenants, or a least a quest line where rytlock tells us what the heck is going on. I mean it’s pretty weird that all revenants can only summon the same 4 legends if you think about it, there has to be a story behind that. My theory is just my own filler till they give us a real one >_<

Revenant outside of Guild wars 2 generally means a ghost or a re-animated body that had previously passed on. It’s taken from latin meaning “to return”. There are hundreds of myths and tales from history of revenants with a number of different descriptions. Some drink blood like vampires, some hunt flesh like zombies, some even shape shift into great lumbering beasts as they flee into the night. Because of this, my theory on the Revenant is that like Rytlock our characters technically died. Perhaps the ritual he performed and his actions in the mists caused the veil between us and the afterlife to weaken a little, allowing heroes and brave warriors of the past to bleed through, bringing little bits of history with us. That’s just my take on it anyway. Of course this doesn’t at all work with the character creation stories we go through but.. you know, we ignore that bit

As much as I like the idea of big feasts laid out in Lions Arch and kid npc’s sitting around having little conversations about what they’re thankful for, I don’t know if Thanksgiving really has a place in the world of Tyria. I don’t think any race has ever successfully nicked land off anyone else without being shortly and swiftly kicked out again and what with mad king thorn existing, pumpkin pie would probably just give everyone the heebie jeebies. However I’m sure the majority of people are really really thankful they survived another yearly dragon attack! Maybe when they’re all dead we’ll create our own Thanksgiving about reclaiming the world! You know, before something else tries to kill us all.

I’m a big lore nerd when it comes to most games, and though it has its faults that we all recognise, guild wars is a franchise and story that I completely adore (so many dragons!) so of course, I’ve read the books many times especially Edge of Destiny.
Since I threw myself into heart of thorns there is just one thing I can’t help wondering, are the novels completely canon to the story or do the writers just ignore some details?
Mainly, in Edge of Destiny (chapter 18 to be precise) Snaff creates a vile of powerstone dye and marks each member with a tattoo, including Caithe. This stopped the dragonspawn of Jormag from being able to confuse them or take over their minds. I wonder, does this work for all dragons? Is this why so far none of the gang have been corrupted? And if so, should we not have trusted that Caithe was faithful from the start? That her stealing the egg was her trying to do right by Glint, who gave her life in the fight against her master, that Destiny’s Edge were witnesses to. I wish I had more choice in what my character felt towards her, I really do.

Since you fixed the specialisation cost, druid unlocking is now broken, I didn’t get my staff or trait line >_<

Oh thank goodness I thought it was just me! I was starting to panic.

For the last three days I have been experiencing serious errors while mapping in the caledon forest, and only the caledon forest. And now I’m experiencing game drop outs or “connection errors” as well. I don’t know if anyone shares this issue but it’s quite frustrating and an interruption to gameplay.

Thanks for all your suggestions, dry top still seems to be causing me issues but i reduced my maximum processor state to 95% and that seems to keep the temp low in all other areas. Somehow it had set itself to 100%. As my laptop has been acting strangely anyway for 6-7 months i will be getting a man in to look at it soon as well. Again thank you for your suggestions and help

If it’s only a hardware issue then why is the problem only happening with guild wars, and only since yesterday? It doesn’t make sense. And I’ve spoken to guild members who are having similar issues since yesterday. My laptop is samsung so I will look for any fan control software. Thanks for the suggestion.

The overheating only happens while im running guild wars. As soon as i turn it off, it drops about 20 degrees.

Since the new update, my computer can no longer handle the game. No lag or anything, my fps is actually higher than usual, 60 instead of 45ish, just overheating massively. While replaying the story for achieves my cpu hit 86’C. I’ve never had this problem with my cpu before, all my settings are as low as possible, my computer is set up pretty much just for guild wars and it usually handles whatever it throws at me. Anyone else having this issue?

Also getting this problem, i’ve never had DC issues with guild wars before now. It’s going to be a real pain while i story level.

Eh no big deal, Ring of Fire can’t get much with 250 tickets anyway. Just a tad disappointed your dedicated team didn’t work on this issue not happening in the weeks the tournament was going. We worked hard, people without chests are kittened.

Before the megaserver update I had never received a spam whisper, not a single one. Now i get them almost every 5 minutes, its so frequent I have to turn whispers off completely or sit there for an hour reporting 18 different people. I don’t know if anything can be done about it but it really messes up the messaging system!
