No, thank you, I shall not participate. I am just a client, not an employee.

LOL these clueless comments from high school children make me laugh every time.

As if Anet had enough employees top do a stress test. wait until they are out in the real world.

Yeah, I cut down like 6 trees (elder/ancient) and got three of them. It’s all RNG.

Ok thanks for the quick reply. I guess I just had REALLY bad luck.

I farmed about 200 elder and ancient wood last night with zero Firefox cluster drops. I had the usual boosts on and at worst I usually get got one or two Foxfire drops farming that amount of wood. Anyone get a Firefox cluster drop since the tangled paths patch?

Sinister Gear Recipe's discoverable?

The recipes are random drops from bandit chests or from a sinister weapon/armor recipe book, which is an reward for completed LS achievements.

The recipes for the insignias/inscriptions/jewels are from the vendor in silver wastelands.

All of them are not discoverable.

Thank You!

Hi,

I see recipe’s for Sinister gear appearing on the TP. That would lead me to believe they are not discoverable. Anyone know if they are discoverable and how the one’s on the TP are being obtained?

Thanks

Lets talk about loss of exclusivity

I think exclusivity, unless it is tied to a skill test, is pointless. It’s a video game, played by hundreds of thousands of players. Trying to be a special snowflake is meaningless.

For the record, I’ve been here since the first beta weekend, and have my share of items that are no longer available in game, so this isn’t just sour grapes.

But, what about bragging rights, proving I was there, etc?

Why does anyone need to “prove they were there”. Do you think newcomers really care that you played the game a year before they did? Aren’t your memories of enjoying it at the time enough? You really need some sort of shiny to make the experience meaningful? This “need to prove I was there” is akin to the bizarre urge to constantly photograph things rather than experience them when sight seeing, or the need to keep up with the neighbors in price of car and the vibrant green of your lawn.

But, won’t everyone look the same if everyone can get all the armor and weapon skins?

Only the people who jump on the most recent items. Sure, for the month after a new skin is released, every other character in Tyria is wearing that piece, but when the next thing comes out, they’ll move on. Remember when everyone had a SAB weapon? Or holographic wings? You still see them around now, but sprinkled here and there on players who decided they fit the look they wanted.

The real secret to everyone not looking alike is having enough variety of quality skins in game. The more options, the more player’s individual taste will cause there to be a variety in looks. Especially if ANet gives us mix-and-match armor pieces instead of must-be-used-as-set costumes.

But it should be at least as difficult to get the item when it comes available later, right?

Not necessarily. As I said above, the newest thing is usually the most desirable. You have to work harder if you want to be an early adopter, like in real life. When it gets released later, it makes perfect sense for it to be more accessible to those who didn’t get it the first time, and the early adopters can chase whatever has been just released. This is common in many areas of life.

Other than GW2, I’ve never paid more than $7 for a video game, because I’m content to wait two to three years and pick it up on a Steam mid-week madness sale. I’m playing the same game (actually, sometimes an improved game due to patches/mods) you spent $50 on back when it was released. Does that upset you?

I’ll reiterate, exclusivity does make sense if you are talking about a particularly challenging skill test to get the reward. I’m not an elite player by any means. I’d likely never have rewards locked behind knowing an encounter inside out and split-second dodging skills. Still, I see the value in providing exclusive rewards for people who really excel at the game.

Exclusivity because you’re willing to grind out thousands of a particular crafting mat or just because you were playing during the two weeks the item was available? We don’t need that. It takes time for ArenaNet to develop every item they add to the game. We need maximum access to those items so that the content is as full as it can be for any player. Sure, rotate it out to keep it fresh (my wife does the same with my kids toys), but nothing should be kept out of the game permanently so that a small section of the player base can feel special.

Thank You! Nice post. people should quit crying and get on with their life; It’s A GAME!

I don’t know what drops Triple Trouble gives since I have never beaten it. Then again, I’m not in TTS guild, so that means I’m never going to find out.

You don’t have to be a TTS member to participate just show up on TS.

i really really hope that they don’t recycle the old skins.

please Anet don’t trivialize some of the very few remaining prestigious items!

as someone who knows the value of unobtainable items i grinded for months to save enough money to buy greatsaw, (i’ve been pretty poor ever since)
if they bring it back then it would very likely be the final straw for me.

I don’t understands this mentality; it seem pretty selfish to me. Why shouldn’t new players get the option to grind for some of the cools stuff? Recycling doesn’t change the fact that you already grind’d for the items and this time you can grind for something different. What are we 3 years old, nah nah I have something you don’t have. Makes no sense.

From Story Journal entry:

“To unlock an episode and have it added to your story Journal, you simply need to log in to the game during the two-week period that the release is live to be given permanent, free access to the storyline of that episode. Once you’ve unlocked it by simply logging in, you can replay that episode’s storyline on any character on your account as many times as you like from your story Journal forever.”

and

“Characters under level 80 will be able to see the available episodes, but will not be able to play them until they reach level 80. Think of the Living World story as the constantly expanding continuation of your character’s storyline once they reach level 80.”

AAAAAAND

“Once one character on your account has completed an episode in their story journal, every character on your account will have access to a set of challenging achievements. At any time once unlocked, you can return and attempt to replay that episode in order to complete the achievements. "

PER MA NENT

Gotta love Arenanet. Thanks for the information!

So is the unlock account based or soul based? I get the impression from the release notes that you may have to purchase it if you create a new character after the season is over. Anyone know for sure?

Norn Personal Story bug?

managed to get past the bug by going to lion’s arch, going into Divinity’s reach, the back to Lions arch. This changed the story waypoint to another area that allowed me to complete the next mission. I had to do this for several missions before it stopped directing me there.

Clearly a bug.

Hi,

I’m at the point where i need to fight the dredge and I picked to defend the scholar’s. When I follow the green star It points me to an Asura Gate in Lornar’s pass that I can’t access because the gate is locked. When I speak to the guard get a message that the area is under construction. How do I access this gate to continue my story?

Thanks
