To improve the event API, it would be nice to know the closest Waypoint to the event.
We would need a new API Waypoint_names, that gives the waypoint_id and the name (in the language passed as argument). And we would need a new waypoint_id in the event API that would link to the closest Waypoint.
Events that move (like “escort a NPC”) would return the closest waypoint of their current position if the event is active and the closest one from the beggining if not.
This API could also be used by the suggested Vendor API.
Reporting people is really hard because you cannot know for sure who is cheating (How can you detect a dezoomer?) and if the guy teleport away, you cannot select him.
The real solution would be a fix from Anet that prevent those hacks from working.
I notice that more and more people use and talk about hacks for gw2. This is not new, hacks have been around since the betas, but it is getting out of control.
It take less than 5 minutes to find a free program on google. A program that grants you a lot of super power that make the whole WvW totally unfair.
The only official statement I got is that we should just report players and give proof. I would rather have a client that does not allow those hacks.
Can we have some information on what is being done to fix this and when you plan to deploy it?
Thanks
The offerings? Seriously? They’re +6 to stats.
They are not unbalancing the WvW, I am just saying that to have the same amount of buffs as everyone else, people have to have 7 buffs (food, utilities, 4 offerings and venom). That’s a lot and it is annoying to get them all. I would rather see those offerings gone so it will be simpler for everybody.
You should remove the 4 norn offerings (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Snow_Leopard_Offering, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Raven_Offering, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bear_Offering, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Wolf_Offering).
They are not much, but right now in WvW, I have to get my food, my utilities, my skale venom and 4 offerings. It is just a pain in the kitten to get everything!
For me it is worse, because I do not see my allies.
For small groups (5-10), it is way better as they can see the ennemies better than before. For groups bigger than 20, it is aweful: there is no way to know how many you are, where is your commander at all time. Yesterday, we were a group of 40 in an area as big as the inside of a tower. I could see only 20 of my friends at once, but I could also see that many ennemies.
+1 for a linux client.
I am using Ubuntu 12.04 and playonlinux does not support pulseaudio so I only have one source of sound at once.
