Call me crazy, but I suspect the reason they’re not using green is a simple matter of color contrast and visibility.

At least 2/3 of the land on the WvW map surface (i.e. world map/mini map, which is typically how people find commander tags) is green in color. It might be a bit dodgy having to spot the green tag on the green background.

I’d like to join, but I’m not totally sure how to classify myself. I’m definitely a student when it comes to most dungeons (especially Arah and TA, where I have virtually no experience…there’s at least one Arah path I’ve never done and the others have all taken me 50-100 minutes with any guild group in the past).

However, I’ve completed (numerous times) fotm 50 on my mesmer, usually with no major issues, in pugs (although I haven’t done Mai Trin on a scale higher than 29 since her recent buff so idk how I’d be there now). Since I have 50 AR just on my main jewelry set, I’ve also run lower scales up to 38 a few times on my warrior, and in the 20s on my guardian. None of my other classes have ever been in fotm but they’re all level 80, and most have access to good gear (especially since ascended became account bound).

I have both light and heavy full ascended zerk sets, Bolt and Twilight, plus an ascended axe, scepter, focus, hammer, sword and pistol (all zerk). I also have an ascended celestial staff (don’t ask, I didn’t know what I was doing and all those numbers looked so exciting). I haven’t started any medium ascended sets yet but I plan to, eventually.

I guess what I’m saying is that in fotm I’d be an advanced student, possibly a mentor in training, especially for lower levels, but the meta tactics and tricky stuff that the high end speed clear teams use is generally beyond me.

In fractals I typically bring my mesmer (always for 40+, as that light ascended set has a bit of AR in it, in addition to the 50 on the accessories). In theory I guess I could bring my ele for anything 49 or below, but I have very little experience with the class. I’d like to practice more but I don’t want to handicap a pug in the process. I’d also like to learn to do it well on a guardian, warrior and thief.

In dungeons I typically bring my warrior (I get as close as I can to the setups in Nike’s videos but I typically run Phalanx Strength since I don’t often run with organized meta groups).

This is already becoming a wall of text, so I guess if you don’t mind sending me an invitation I can explain more as situations arise. Thanks.

A few minutes ago, I started my GW2 client, for the third time today. If it matters, I have the client set to always run as admin. My PC is running windows 7 SP1.

This time, after about a minute of the client not connecting, an AVG notification popped up identifying GW2.exe as a trojan. Unfortunately my only options from this point were delete, or quarantine. I chose quarantine (because at least then I can send a notification to AVG).

Of course that means the executable was scrubbed from its previous locations. I’ve begun downloading the client again (taking longer than I expected, or I probably wouldn’t have bothered making this post). And I came to this forum for info. I’ve read the AVG post in the sticky section above, but I can’t make heads or tails of it… I’m using AVG free edition, and the ONLY part of it that opens for me is the user interface. So for instance, under “history” there is no “firewall log” or “system services” option. In fact this doesn’t seem like it was a firewall related issue to begin with.

Anyone else experienced anything like this? I haven’t touched anything on my computer since I played 4 (totally seamless) hours of wvw earlier this afternoon, except for watching some netflix on chrome. Could I have done something on my end without realizing it? Is this perhaps something amiss with my AVG?

Part of debating is to bring forth evidence that backs your position. You can’t come to a debate, defend your position, and then ask the opposite side to provide evidence that would adhere to your theories.

Actually, that’s the opposite of how it works, at least in the legal system. Go ahead and google “legal discovery.” If one side in a conflict has relevant information to the other side’s claim, they are REQUIRED BY LAW to produce it in a timely fashion.

I apologize if this has been specifically clarified before, but I couldn’t find anything about it on these forums.

Let’s say (because this is what actually happened…) I bought Scarlet’s Spaulders, and because I was feeling eager and not thinking all that much due to the time of night, I immediately applied them to my warrior’s shoulder armor.

When the patch comes on the 15th, will those spaulders only be unlocked as a “heavy” shoulder skin on my account? Or will the skin still be universal? Or is this part still officially unconfirmed? Thanks.

I didn’t make anymore progress on the Clocktower with the beta FOV. I’ve left the beta FOV on and did complete the Windersday puzzle. Can’t really say for sure if it helped me, but you could still give it a try if your having problems with the camera.

Also, I’d suggest looking at youtube videos of people doing the puzzle if you haven’t already.

Actually, I believe this is no longer beta, but standard. The old FoV measurement can be reset with a different command line function, as I recall.

I don’t think there’s a bug here. I got this achievement on my second try. Turns out I’d missed some breakables near the Black Citadel area. Very small objects, look similar to a fence/antenna thingy. Not sure if this is an issue, but maybe try setting graphics up higher to improve visibilty.

I got those on each try when it failed to give me the achievement.

No one is saying it’s impossible to get the achievement. We’re saying, in fairly convincing numbers, I might add, that there seem to be hard-to-predict circumstances under which a player cannot get credit for the achievement, despite having destroyed everything in the instance.

Scouring an EMPTY instance twice, for an hour at a time, with several other people after completing the chain, I couldn’t get the achievement.

Running around for 15 minutes on a naked character in a SOLO instance, with skritt busting caps in my a** left and right, I got the achievement.

I can assure you, I didn’t break anything that third time that I hadn’t broken (and stomped and smashed a dozen times again, just in case) the first two.

As of now with endless tonic RNG we do not have nearly enough to get the events items. If we had a method to get more glue and wads then yes we would have enough. Well…unfortunately, from everything else they’ve written and done, it seems they definitely meant “more than enough” to craft two minis, not all of them, and not the tonics.

I really don’t get why we have left over cogs though…unless they’re going to be usable next year? Or were they just added as replacements for people whose rewards were bugged for some reason…?

If you haven’t done any of the instances, they’re available in Lion’s Arch. If you did them all, and got all the rewards, then you’re pretty much going to have to buy them from the TP if you want more, because opening gifts sounds like a TERRIBLE way to get them.

A lot of us believe there is an intermittent, untraced bug involved here though.

I, for one, was unable to get it on multiple tries with my mesmer (my only 80), with help, after finishing the event chain and getting the chest. Three tries, 60 mins each, SCOURED (I was a legendary carto and vq, I know how to scour), no objects left, no achievement.

Last night after midnight I went in alone with my level 36 guardian and her staff, took off the armor to save repair costs, and ran around casting 1 in all directions, frantically trying to break things before skritt pounded me to death. I had nothing close to the chance to “scour”.

Yet with that approach I got it in about 15 minutes.

Seems like the key, if you’ve had trouble, is to do it alone, without completing any part of the event chain…?

A 12(b)(6) motion would be hard to make here in good faith.

Plus, I’m no student. I’m a barred attorney, and I took this case pro bono as a favor to Tixx’s sister. If the cheap kitten wants ZEALOUS representation, he can pay for it!

You know, you run the risk of making the game a total pain for the non-cheaters if you are always gearing things towards the cheaters. That is a lot of experience to get in one sitting in one zone.

In fairness, I think the devs have demonstrated that they recognize the difficulty in finding that balance and are doing what (at least they think) is best to resolve it, but it’s an ongoing, iterative process.

That being said, if they care THAT MUCH about people cheating their way to this title, that had kitten well better mean that these titles will eventually MATTER for more than prestige. Because otherwise, man, nobody was ever gonna care and this was a problem that needed no fixing…

What i think Anet should equip is something that turned items from soul bind into account bound.

This would solve a lot of problems in one go.

I was JUST about to make this its own thread. This would hurt absolutely NOTHING that I can foresee, while granting many of us a good reason to continue leveling alts, etc.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I searched the forum for answers and came up empty. And I can’t get in game for a while to check myself.

In short, is it possible to transmute the appearance of a weapon soulbound to character A onto a weapon that could then be equipped on character B? My mesmer has the greatsaw greatsword, and while I dig it, in hindsight I’d have saved it for the warrior I’ve started to level. I also think I’m going to pursue a legendary for my mes anyway.

So can it be done, either directly or through the “common” quality transmutation workaround I’ve seen discussed for orders armor? Or is it totally impossible? If so (and I’d put this in the appropriate suggestions forum if it came to that), what about a gem store item that would allow you to convert a (non-backpack) soulbound item to account bound status until it’s equipped or upgraded again?
