What a nice gesture! I wish you all the best wherever your gamer self may go.
I want to nominate PlanB.7681. He pretty new to the game, but just does these incredibly thoughtful things; let me tell you about one:
He’s in the army and used to really enjoy playing piano, but had to leave it behind. I decided I wanted to buy my friend a gw2 instrument so he could at least play in game, and when I gifted him one, he got me one too just so we could play together and he could teach me! When I told him sometimes players stand in cities and play for others, he got incredibly excited and immediately started to learn how to compose gw2 songs to play for people (which is adorable). He also helps me with doing some art giveaways on the subreddit; I draw and he scans haha.
Hi Dagvir! If you’re interested, I’m planning on starting up a guild for the exact purpose you stated— to form a group of people to just play the game together at their own pace! I kind of wanted to start from the ground up with this and think that will be better in the long run.
I won’t bother you too much, but if you’re interested, you can read more here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor/PvX-NA-Looking-to-form-casual-newbie-guild/first#post5619841
Just send me a message if this sounds like something you’d be interested in!
Not sure if I’m allowed to bump or not, but I’m gonna live dangerously today.
Since I started playing GW2, which was not that long ago, I’ve been looking for a specific type of guild and haven’t found it (yet), so I propose we interested parties should join forces and start our own guild!
The summary:
A PvX newbie guild (NA) for newer players to learn and discover cool stuff in Tyria together.
I’ll provide the gold and do the administrative work, you just have to join! (Unless you want to help out in a greater capacity!) No rep requirements, no teamspeak needed.
The rest:
One of the things I like the most about games is that feeling you get when you discover something new, or when you learn some awesome thing you didn’t know your character could do. I love that the community in GW2 is so nice and helpful, and it’s really made me happy about sticking with this game. Most of my other gaming friends don’t currently play GW2, or at least not as much as I do, so I’ve turned to the community at large to find some friends to play with. In doing so, I’ve found that while people are really nice, it’s also hard to discover things yourself because everyone wants to be helpful and tell you exactly how to accomplish things or where everything is. While that is a wonderful thing for a community and a guild to provide, sometimes I just want to stumble onto things and discover stuff myself! I thought there might just be some other people who feel the same way, so why don’t we start a guild so we can find each other?
This won’t be a place to get teaching or regularly occurring fractal runs or anything, but rather a place to find others who want to play together and preserve that sense of wonder and discovery that comes with new things.
There is no representation requirement or need for teamspeak or ventrilo. I expect there will be lots of transiency in the beginning as people join and leave, but hopefully there will eventually be a more stable group of active people to enjoy the game with! There’s no need to stay if you find this isn’t for you— in fact, you may find as you learn more about the game, you’ve moved beyond the goals of this guild, which is perfectly fine!
Feel free to post here, send me a PM or talk to me in game: ProVitaminJ.4261
OK, adding you guys now!
Still looking for friendsssss. I’m getting a little bored running around by myself and my real-life target has declined my invitation to go adventuring together, heh.
I’m trying to play with a friend, and although we’ve figured out how to be in a party together, we’re trying to meet up in lion’s arch and although we can see each other on the mini map, we can’t see each other in the actual game. His little portrait is blacked out and I can’t right click and join in anything, which is what I found from googling. I’m on NA and he’s on EU, is that the problem?
EDIT: After more googling, it appears that is the case— NA and EU can’t play together. So what can they do together?

Yessss, look at our lovely new noob group! I love it!
@ceryia: I happen to be in NA, but the most east you can get, so my time zone is probably closer to yours than to other NA people haha!
Excellent!
I’ll add you guys as friends when I next log in.
@AshTree: I’ve basically been playing for about a week, so we’re in about the same place! Just let me know when you feel like you’re ready!
Hey!
I bought this game on a sale weekend and came back to it after a while, and have been playing in earnest for about a week. I sometimes type smiley faces and stuff to people but no one responds or seems to want to be friends lol.
I’d love to go adventuring with other people who are new to the game and want to explore stuff together! Anyone?
