It looks like people have returned to WvW this week on SBI. Last week showed us that we can’t afford to be lazy or take a break when we have a hungry server wanting to make their mark. The battles have been great and we still have a long week ahead of us.

I heard PRX are on a casual week this week to recharge batteries and get some fractal lvls, so thats why we are not seeing even half of their numbers out in WvW. Should be SBI’s week this week, lets see them in force next week when PRX are back in force to make a great game.

It is sad that you guys were not here when the orbs were still in the game (sigh). That was when real tier one fights were going on. The nerves and excitement just aren’t there anymore but I’m sure you guys were pumped up to FINALLY get here and even skipped the event entirely. LOL

We’ve been level 80 for over two months now, some even have level 80 alts. Sorry to spoil your legend but you guys are very late to the party. If you think you are fighting the tier one of past, you are greatly mistaken.

You are forgetting that a large chunk of SoS are the likes of PRX who have been spanking you since HoD on day 1 son. Id be bitter too if they came up on a new server and spanked you again like that.

We actually thought of this last night in guild chat, and we were thinking they could implement a new guild perk, which allows the guild a commander icon for 24 hours. Once activated, there is then a drop down list next to the upgrade which shows who currently has the icon, and a guild member list in the drop down menu to be able to change the commander.

Thoughts?

besides the rendering, WvW is not broken.

It could be “improved” though with minor things such as:

- Kill spam
- Enemy Names on targetting (maybe in chat box? “you have targetted IpwnFaces”)
- Guilds’ names on guards/lord if claimed
- A ranking grind like daoc to give some longetivity to the game

It is a shame you think that. PRX has been on a single BL this entire match.

PRX carried SoS for the most part and has been seen on every bg.

We have only been on 1 map for 90% of this matchup. The only time we map swapped was when our allocated border was 100% ours, then we switched right back to our allocated border once garrison was lost on it.

SoS as a whole has been outstanding this match, even when PRX have been pegged back to only bay and briar as our income, the other maps have been pulling in tremendous points.

Nobody in the top 6 are expected to move this week, next week possibly.

If SoS lead widens, and BG fall behind SBI further, the ratings will change and SoS will go to T1

You mean like your /map proposed tactic when SoR were pressuring you and you were folding : “let them take the whole map and we will come get it back when they leave”
You are just a bad commander and really ought to just stop trying. We are just lucky a PRX commander was in there too, as we held 2 keeps, 2 towers, and 3 camps for approximately 4 hours after you went off sulking, and still had them later when i got back.

Sea of Sorrows are currently winning Tier 2, one of the strongest NA and oceanic timezones but ZERO euro aside from the PRX euro section. You want to fill a hole and compete in tier 1 for 1st place, SoS is the place to be.

Ive played in both regions and you cant tell any difference at all.

I guess all the euro guilds and alliances in the tier 1 and 2 of NA should all get moved too then, right? So we dont get daycapped

There are Koreans and Australians on our NA servers who cant speak english, and they play here just fine. Go join an English speaking server, your guild chat doesnt magically turn to english

You are out of the loop my friend.
As of next week, theres going to be 6 servers all equally capable of winning Tier 1 in NA.
You mentioned SoS winning by a landslide, this is because IoJ guilds are for the vast majority PvX guilds, and have been taking in the Halloween Events. Sure this doesnt take too long, but obviously some would rather farm it this week, and others looked at the score and thought… ok week off.

We know IoJ are capable of being at the top as they proved lasy week being within 1000 points of the leaders until Halloween hit, i expect them to be back in force next reset. Blackgate are showing their newfound strength with their bandwaggoners, and also Sanctum of Rall with their transfers are showing that they deserve to be up here too by walking their game, and losing a very tight final day game last week to SoS.

This gives basically, SBI, BG, JQ, IoJ, SoS, and SoR. All capable of beating each other.

Thats healthy competition my friend, as long as the 7th place onwards doesnt have a constant dominant winner, i cant see these 6 moving.

IoJ did the usual IoJ thing, got caught up in PvE events, fell behind by a substantial amount, and then forfeit the game. I guess thats the penalty of playing ion a PvE server, times like this.
Doesnt help also that SoS is populated by a few select WvW guilds who basically have a map to each of them. The free xfers for sure helped them, only a matter of time for the bandwaggoners to ruin it for them.

Yesterday a Thief jumped my mesmer , and literally spammed only Heartseeker, auto attack and stealth abilities. I checked my combat log, it went:

Steal 5k
Heartseeker 3k
Heartseeker 3.2k (i healed here)
Heartseeker 2.9k
autoattacks

Obviously i won as i confused the fuzzle out of him by placing all my glamours down even though i couldnt see him, but this is to show data.

Some classes are lucky to get off 3k on their big cooldown hits, yet a thief’s Heartseeker can pull 3k from +75% HP? On a spammable ability which auto locks and leaps? While invisible?

Fix this class or delete it. Remove Heartseekers autolock leap, Remove stealth or quadruple the cooldown on it and rework backstab etc, your game cant handle abilities like stealth, so dont go down the Bioware path of “but its my idea and im going to make it work” when all you do is harm the game further.

3 day matches actually sound really great (or maybe even 4), allowing competitive games but faster more accurate ranking shifts

They need to move HoD and ET down to tier 7 or something so they dont ruin all the games they come in contact with over the next month or 2

You dont get it obviously, this isnt about 1 game, its going to happen for at least the next month as the 2 slide down together. Not only is it going to ruin the fun for the servers the come in contact with, but its also going to scew the ratings for the server who wins by a ridiculous amount

I know you use your ranking system, but i feel you should manually step in and use some common sense for tomorrow.
You currently have HoD and ET in Tier 2, and neither have even broke 17k in their matchups. This is obviously due to the well known public knowledge of the mass exodus from the servers.

Now, do you really want to ruin another Tier 2 game (HoD will remain here) and Tier 3 game (ET will be here) because of your automated rankings system? I know we, the players, would rather be in solid matchups against competitive servers.

I ask that you use some common sense and manually knock them down the ladder instead of having this “WvW breaking effect” in their tiers as they both slide down together.

is it just me or is my Thief even stronger since the patch? Im literally rolling through people with the 5 attack +15%. Im pretty much killing anyone i choose before they can do anything about it with Steal (6k), Dancing Dagger (3k), CnD (4k), Backstab (8k), Heartseeker.

I guess the Heartseeker spammers will enjoy this change too as it pretty much reverses the Heartseeker nerf from 2 patches ago with this signet used.

Isle of Janthir are awesome in usa and oceanic times, but theres this little void in the gap inbetween, from around 4pm onwards in Germany time. A small to medium influx of european players to Janthir would see the server challenging for top spot instead of place 3 and 4.

Remove stealth totally. Problem solved.

This is not only an sPvP problem, its at large in WvW too. A thief can go trotting along solo knowing finewell he can stealth > backstab > steal > heartseeker to kill anyone he chooses. No kiting either, Heartseeker jumps you to them for guaranteed hits.
He can even do this to kill 1 of a group and get away with his almost perma stealth.

Ridiculous class, more broken than any stealther on any game in history, yes even worse than daoc 1.0

Ah cool, so while he stealths, hits a 15k backstab followed by 2 spamseekers to 3 shot you, i can stand spamming my autoattack.

Remove the autoleap from heartseeker while youre at it

Blame the playerbase. Blame the Henge guilds who xferred to an already full and competitive server. Blame the ET guilds who did the same.

Get real. You have had a mass transfer to Blackgate not only the Titan Alliance guilds who took Henge to #1, but also the likes of [Thai] from Eredon terrace.

Its a joke that they would all bandwagon together like that to make another Henge server, where is the fun in that? Have fun with your 6 hour queues next week when everyone jumps ship and you dominate Tier 1.

I came across a heartseeker thief in one of my very rare spvp outings last night.
It went basically Steal > heartseeker spam with haste. I was dead before i could even react.
I thought it was a 1 off, but nope, he did it repeatedly for the next hour killing anyone who he chose to kill.

Screw the 2 second cooldown, i want to see it on a 4 second cooldown like most other classes similar abilities.

Guardian? You have a heal which periodically removes conditions passively, a trait which periodically removes conditions, Smite Condition which does very decent damage along with removing conditions on a short cooldown.

Really you have nothing to whine about, at all

Grimaldi is a great Commander, i even run with his strats when im out on commander too. This is a problem IoJ has though, theres too many commanders who simply refuse to work with other commanders and end up trying to override the other causing mayhem. Must be an ego/control thing i dunno, but they really need to get over it.

Oh no, time for RUN to transfer to their 11th server? Maybe soon theyll catch one who can carry them

I can confirm that RUN has/is leaving Sea of Sorrows. I have spoken to Akadios/Cayden about the issue.

However, the reasoning behind it was because RUN was being blamed for some of the hackings that occurred on 9/10 and wanted to preserve their reputation.

I cann BS on that. He straight up sent me a whisper saying theres not enough people transferring in. I told him to give it some time as theyd only been there for 4 days, but i guess he wants everything to happen at the click of a finger.
Also they have no reputation, other than that of selfish server hoppers seeking something they will never get (i.e to be the commanding force on a top quality server)

And that 40 man loss to a 15, i recall it was his other 2 commanders who were failing so hard in every aspect that the server even called out Daish to put his tag on and started following him instead, how ironic is that? Im guessing that was what inspired them to move when people started to realise how bad they were.

Haven’t heard this internally at all (in-game or on our communication channels), and I was online less than 6 hours ago. We did do some internal voting last night to get an idea on how people felt about SoS so far, but that’s all I’m aware.

Which shows how bad the kid is as a leader. He said they were having a meeting last night about moving servers because not enough NA players had moved there (i guess 500 in 4 days isnt enough) , then a second /w later saying they are moving to sanctum of rall.

Which server next when Rall dont live up to his expectations? I feel sorry for his guildies.
