My idea would be to add 10 man to all the dungeons to allow more 10man content (and to revalidate old content, something they continue to say they are trying to do), while at the same time add a 5 man to the Spirit Vale. That way more 10 mans, and easier raid for those that need to learn the Spirit Vale without such punishing wipes. More people get more content. Win win. They can keep the content the same, but the look tables have higher rates with more people, a does the challenge.
For those of you that disagree, what is there to disagree about? Those that don’t want to no-life it get to experience the content and those that want a challange get the content they want. Do you think that it’s content that no one but the most dedicated can see? Why? This is like being mad at players that level exclusively through crafting. Demanding that because they didn’t get to lvl 80 through combat they should never see the outside of LA.

I already see a problem with raids. It’s an aesthetic one, but it’s an important one for immersion. Bosses being really large. That’s OK when it’s a monster or something, but for enemies that we know are not of exceptionally large it just looks out of place. I understand you want to prevent confusion in a crowd, but raids are not a place for that. Raid are for people that understand how to tab their targets and really won’t be looking at them as our cameras will be so far out as to see everything. I get that you want players to see the bosses in the 10-man zerg, but at the same time they don’t need it.
Unless there is a lore reason for this, I really don’t see the point of doing this.
They have also stated that all Living Story moving forward will require HoT. So really you have to count all that stuff too. And if it’s anything as compared to all the updates we got from the seasons 1&2 then that combined with the core stuff we got in HoT isn’t too bad. But as it stand it does feel like DLC compared to other games.
I was thinking, since the Revenant is being retroactively added to the game, then why is Rox treating it like it’s something new? Narrative-wise would it not have made more sense for them to act like the Revenant has always been a thing and just have her act to the fact that he is invoking Glint since that would , timewise, be something new a related to the story? It would make more sense than having a Revenant as the leader of the group from vanilla all the way to HoT and then act like it’s a whole new thing. Could it be that Rox is just mentally disabled and Frostbite is her disability pet?
Basically the 4 new maps are dungeons.
Most people here that are enjoying the content are seeing the problems with it. The maps are hard. If you like that level of difficulty then fine, but but there is no challenge save for those that care about combat. They added moves that can tear you apart in seconds. Most enemies have high DPS/instakill and high HP. There is a reason why they gave up on dungeons. They’ve basically turned all of the HoT into meta-event open world dungeons. You can’t even earn Hero points without at least 5 people. So if it’s built like a dungeon and is based on groups like dungeons, they why not make them dungeons? It’s like they don’t understand their own game or market.
None of these comments being made are unique to the forums. But there is one fact that I am sure of, Anet will never make an expansion like this again.
The canopy for jumping the gap is gone. Must have been removed for Halloween decorations by mistake.
I think you have a different understanding of what the Elite spec is for. It only allows new weapon, healing skill, elite skill and a set of utility skills in addition to its own set of traits, it’s not some super power boost. To do so would unbalance the game. All the specs are on a horizontal plain, not a vertical one. So it would not be odd that the new spec be the same price as the other, or even a little higher. But for it to be 400 HP is insane. I don’t even begin to use specs until I have unlock everything for it. So it’s something I really would not have had an interest in if it was still going to be 400. Why would I go from a well tuned ranged fighter to a melee one with less perks? This change allows someone like me to unlock all of it in one go and gives me the willingness to try it out without lacking all of the customization that comes with it.
I’m getting this as well. 64bit, about every 10 minutes.
I agree. I have been saying the same thing. It goes against the whole design philosophy they’ve been pitching. It’s just a shame that mentioning it makes people defensive. I’ll keep playing the game, I just don’t like being lied to.
Same problem here.
EDIT: Thanks for the update. Also note that you must right-click and choose the option to bound it to your account.

I say we rebuild it in the same spot. Much like what WoW did with it’s cities in Cata. Each area should be a strong reflection of each races culture. If it’s to be a melting pot then I think the design should start to show it. Should also leave some piece of the drill (preferably the one in the water) to show the damage that was done. Even some areas to be build around wreckage.
Plus, a story involving the Consortium for the rebuilding of LA should also happen. They would get a foothold in the city and gain very much needed PR.
At what point was I rude or insulting? And didn’t I suggest a solution?
You were. You were backhandedly telling him he was incompetent and that he should have seen the future before trying to play the game.
If they want them to matter more they need to make them last longer and have a remaining impact on the world. My problem in general with the Living World events, is that the content is too high a lvl. My main is 48 and I wouldn’t last a minute in a fight on South Sun, and has been the same with all the other events. So even though I log in during Living World events, I gain nothing.
So, AN, you don’t bring in new players, you don’t keep old ones, and the few (like me) that return to do the new content can’t even do them. You are catering to the lvl capped hardcore players (that already spend more than 10 hours a week on the game), and all they want is more permanent content. You service no one. Please, fix it.
