Invisible Shoes! What the?!

I’m still struggling to get ahold of my pair, too, but in the interim, I found a nice workaround! I thought I’d share, in case anyone else wants a substitute while they’re wrestling with the RNG.
YMMV, but the Twilight Arbor shoes for light armor only covers the top of your character’s foot. With the right leggings, it can look like you’re not wearing any shoes outside of the hero panel.

Add me to the list of people who aren’t getting rewards on map completion! I heard the bug had been fixed, so I finished off Verdant Brink with my Tempest. Nothin’ but experience, which was odd. He has 100% world complete in core Tyria.

Hi! It’s been mentioned in this thread already, but something’s up with the Tempest’s specialization collection. When you fully unlock the elite spec, you’re given your fancy loop ‘n all, but it’s absent from the collection list. Instead, you’re asked for two mechanized warhorns. The description for the Tempest’s Warhorn is also incorrect.

Whoops!

What weapons do you use?

For WvW, whichever weapons I have equipped usually depend on what I’m expecting to run into. Staff and Scepter/Torch are a reeeeeeally fun combination, though, if you’re into condition shenanigannery. Here’s wishing you luck finding a set of weapons you enjoy!

What makes a skilled gw2 player?

In my opinion, a skilled player is one who can react and adapt well to change. :) It’s one thing to understand fight mechanics and memorize dungeon routes, but it’s far more demonstrative of mastery to me when a player can outmaneuver challenges without a practiced strategy in place.

GW2 launcher disappearing after driver update

in Account & Technical Support

Eh-oh. I’ve been incredibly lazy about keeping my computer’s drivers updated, and just recently I decided it was time to remedy that. Upon updating my graphics drivers, however, Guild Wars 2 began to act… oddly.

When I open Guild Wars 2, the launcher appears for all of 2-3 seconds before disappearing entirely. The game’s icon remains in my task bar, as if permanently minimized. I’ve tried using Task Manager’s ‘bring to front’ prompt to bring it forward, but there is no reaction.
I’ve also tried running it as administrator, in compatibility mode, after reinstalling the drivers, and through Razer’s Game Booster. I’ve prowled through a few forum threads, too, to see if anyone had similar issues, but wasn’t able to find anything conclusive or any solutions that fixed the issue. (This includes adding -repair to the target properties.) Nothing seems to work, and I’m finally stumped. I’m not sure why the client’s suddenly so shy. Are driver updates that intimidating? Does it have performance anxiety now? Come back to me, client!

My system model is Razer Blade Pro, my operating system is Windows 8.1, my processor is Intel Core i7-4700HQ (2.40GHz), and my graphics adaptor is NVIDIA GeFore GTX 765M. It’s been able to run the game flawlessly since the dawn of the two-day headstart, and this is the first time I’ve had any trouble.
If anyone could offer some advice, it’d be greatly appreciated.

mini panda or baby dolyak tonic?

Totally went for the panda. No regrets!
I’d be lying if I said the presence of a tonics collectible tab wouldn’t have made me think twice, though.

Staff in PvE?

in Mesmer

The staff is one of my favorite weapons for Mesmers, honestly. Its damage output may not be high as the class’s other options, but it’s fun as hell to run around with. If you like using it, stick with it! Playing with weapons that frustrate you is only going to sour your experience. :)
