I just quit the installer when it got stuck, re-ran the installer and it finished just fine.
I’m having the exact same issue on my guild. None of my guild members can see the guild bank anymore. We had tons of stuff in it. Where did it go?
UPDATE: Evidently the bank works in all cities BUT Lions Arch.
Were you, by chance, in overflow?
As far as I can tell, I’m not on an overflow (it doesn’t show it as being on overflow).

I was 3/4 as well, and I was doing my daily this morning when I noticed it say I had hit 1/4. … This is not acceptable (I even triple checked the patch notes, nowhere was this discussed, and I had to come here searching through multiple forums to find this thread), as had I known it was going to reset I wouldn’t have finished 3/4 (now I feel like I wasted my time this past weekend for nothing).
I’m also not advancing. I’ve done close to 8 or 9 events now, the full 45 minutes, get the final credit, and nothing. I’m stuck at 2/5 on Portal Invasion Closer and 2/7 and 2/13. Fix this event? I’ve wasted HOURS now and I can’t move, while my guild mates are getting it done.
We’re currently testing a fix for this, but I don’t have an ETA for when it will reach the Live servers. Please be patient!
An ETA would be appreciated. I’ve been camping outside this portal for a while now, running through it daily to check, and so far nothing.
Go do another map, or an event or heck, even do some story quests. 1 less waypoint and location should not cause this much frantic worry.
What about those people who only have this 1 waypoint and point of interest remaining for their world completion? What about those people who only need this 1 set of diving goggles for the dive master achievement? As I believe this thread is full of people who fit the scenarios I described, not people who have lots of other maps, events, story quests to do, like you are suggesting for us to do.

Race Change, I hate that I didn’t make all my characters Asura.
So the e-mail I got says “You can also pick up the brand-new Chop-It-All Logging Axe, presented by The Consortium.” So why the misinformation?
I am not trying to take anyone side here but Kaimick has a point, you did violate the ToS. Just because the thread is 6 months old doesn’t mean you have to make a new one. Commenting on the 6 month old thread in these forums will bump it back to the top. As the ToS and CoC state that showing support for an idea is best replied on a current thread rather than a new thread. If you truly wanted to show your support you would have bumped that thread up to the top from the grave.
I have read the GW2Guru post where a Arena Net Dev stated that there will be no race changes, that they have discussed many things about the future of the game but that is not, or will never be one. I wish I could find it for you but it was posted by CC Eva
2 quick things here.
1. The original thread from 6 months ago that actually got an ArenaNet response is LOCKED. I couldn’t have bumped it.
2. I haven’t created a single thread on this issue, I responded to existing threads (one elsewhere first, than here when someone said it should be here).
That may be but making repeat threads because of something you want doesn’t make that change happen. In fact it is against the ToS, if they change their minds it wont be because of the players it will be because of their own reasons. Again if the search function was used you would have known that.
Well first of all, I’m not creating new threads, I clearly did use the search function, and reply to an existing thread. I even stated that I have indeed seen the original response 6 months ago. However, this is the “suggestions” forum and I’m showing my support for a “suggestion.” If you have a problem with that, you can take it up with ArenaNet.
They already stated they’re not doing this; next time please use the search function.
Well I’m glad we live in a world where things change, that was their stance 6 months ago, maybe some day in the future it will change. You never know. I’ll keep my fingers crossed, as I would gladly pay for this.
I would gladly pay for this. After leveling several of my characters to 80 now, I am deeply regretting not making them all Asura (Norn/Charr are extremely difficult to maneuver for example in a lot of the jumping puzzles (clipping), etc.). So I did see the 6 month old Arena.net statement saying “no” with no explanation, and I don’t see a major issue with the personal story (it’s definitely not a technical hurdle, just reset them). And no I’m not re-rolling 6 characters and re-leveling them, I’d rather just pay and change them (like I did in WoW). So for me, I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
I’ve been waiting to buy all of them. :-)

I was having this issue as well, and found that turning off reflections fixes it. Not sure what they did in the recent patch, but it wasn’t doing this before.
I wanna ask about the 64 -bit function, is this client running as 32 or 64?

Considering the Windows version is 32-bit, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that since the Cider port is just running the windows client, it’s 32-bit. :-)
Arenanet hasn’t released the usage of the reserved names yet, they said they would within the first day of launch, and it’s well beyond that now. I also have a name I’d like to use for a character but it’s currently reserved and not yet claimed by the GW1 person.
I believe if you read the second blog post the wording was “Shortly after launch, we’ll free up all the unclaimed names for new Guild Wars 2 players to use.”
Even the first blog post never said they would be released all on launch day. I went back and re-read it all as I also thought they would be released the day after launch day.
I’ve actually found it hit or miss. I got a mixture of low level and level appropriate gear. But that was about a week ago or so when I went and did the Asura starting zone when I was level 50 or so.
I opened a ticket on this and got a response. I was told that there was NO announced date as to when they would be dropping these. That’s weird, as the two blog posts on it at least had some clarity on it (“shortly after launch” and the original blog post said “day after launch”). shrugs, just wish they would give us some kind of time frame.
The missing Mini Zojja is confusing. I had it during BWE2, and now it’s GONE.

Honestly I would assume from now on that you should never make a joke in chat at teh risk of offending someone. I’m not talking bout racist jokes, I’m talking about jokes period.
The first mmo where jokes are a bannable offense. I love that I can repeat my 3 day bannable offense over and over in this thread yet I say it once in game and get a immediate ban even though I haven’t cussed, used racism or sexism in chat ever.
I’ve seen threads like this on Reddit as well where the person thinks they we’re banned for saying one thing, when in reality it was something else they we’re banned for (and very justified). Hopefully ANet will come along and clear this up for you.

though I can’t completely disagree with this, they failed HARD even with their only line of security (which is a POS to begin with). You can’t expect people to spend real money if you can’t even do the bare bone basics in protecting your consumer base
At the moment, they have the same amount of password security as most banks I’ve worked with. Yes I agree it would be nice to have additional security, but that’s only necessary to mask bad behavior in most cases.

One of the problems here is that an unique password is not sufficient.
“test123” and “test124” are unique passwords. They are both horrible passwords, however.
“Jvnm6GFLtkFjoHShQ9GT” and “s1HnIbrHzDmh9b0Y1tlr” are also unique passwords. And they are strong: they are length 20, and entirely random. Note that both length and randomness are pre-requisites for a strong password. Simple substitution (e.g., “3gr355” for “egress”) doesn’t create a random password, nor a strong one. Password cracking software these days can trivially do the same types of substitutions on dictionary words.
Correct, and the problem is a Strong password is one that can’t be easily remembered. I am going through a massive battle where I work trying to enforce strong password requirements, and all the business people are upset that they can no longer remember their passwords. This is why I suggested using something like KeePass to actually create and manage the passwords for you.

Right, but if they have your e-mail account information, that’s simple to change. The point is to keep everything unique and secure (and you might want to check your machine to make sure they’re not getting the info directly from you), so that even if a hacker manages to get access to account information through somewhere (Blizzard, Sony, etc.) that they only get access to that single account.

It is a public place, yes but there is a difference between saying and screaming. I sometimes may tell joke in restaurant with my friends, but should I be forced to leave when person that sat next to me felt offented ? I know that, if i said it to his/her face, that would be a reason, but when it was directed to speccific group ? It is my fault that someone heard it ?
I’m not sure what kind of restaurants you frequent, but I’ve actually had to talk to a manager about the behavior of people sitting around my family (I had young kids at the time). I simply asked to be moved (filtered), but due to multiple complaints the manager actually asked the people to leave. Yeah, this probably doesn’t occur at a fast food establishment, however the point is when you say it in a public manner where others can hear it, you should be aware of your surroundings (and in a game, just because you can’t see the people doesn’t mean their not there) and the consequences.

I’m not sure how much clearer they can make it than what’s posted on the Game status updates page.
Hackers have lists of email addresses and passwords stolen from other games and web sites, and collected through spyware, and are systematically testing Guild Wars 2 looking for matching accounts. To protect yourself, use a strong, unique password for Guild Wars 2 that you’ve never used anywhere else!
The ultimate problem is people using the same password on multiple sites (and yes I believe the responsibility lies on the users shoulders, not ANet). This is a simple problem to solve, just grab a copy of KeePass (or any of the other programs like it out there), install it, and use unique passwords everywhere. Yes it’s a bit of a pain, but it’s worth it in the long run.
That’s what I thought too. I know they extended it until they get the issue you are having resolved where linked accounts still can’t get the names that were reserved. Just wondering if they have a ball park to how much longer that period is going to be extended.
Was this posted somewhere? I don’t recall even seeing this. Either way, as others said, a small addition to the Game Status Updates page would be really helpful.
I have this issue as well, would like to see it fixed. The name I have was on my GW1 account, my son would like it, but it’s still being held hostage by me (even though I’m not using it).
