Traited last 12s. Without trait is 10s I believe. Description is misleading.
Untraited it lasts 6 seconds while traited lasts 8 seconds. I’ve just tested this.
I can confirm this as well.
Although I think the duration is actually 7.2 s
The reason being that Wall of Reflection and Sanctuary are both Consecration skills which benefit from:
Virtues – Trait VI – Master of Consecrations – Consecration skills recharge 20% faster and last longer.
Wall of Reflection goes from 10s to 12s which should be a uniform 20% increase across all Consecration skills.
The shield effect runs out faster than the visual effect of Sanctuary =(
Death Caterpillar would be a more appropriate name I suppose.
@the naysayers – It’s not like the other 23 guardians + misc players inside are diddling their thumbs for 96 seconds waiting for their turn. I’m going to try to get a video of this eventually.
Not too practical. Sanctuary does not prevent longer range melee attacks from entering.
I’ve also had this problem, especially with large/huge mobs.

Sanctuary utility skill reads:
Form a protective healing shelter for allies. Foes and projectiles cannot enter.
- Sanctuary, when traited, has a CD of 96 seconds and a ~6 second duration.
- If you get 16 Guardians to chain cast Sanctuary you can create a perma bubble.
- With 24 players you have a 0.5s overlap of bubbles, and if you cycle Shield skill #5 you can almost guarantee nothing will get in.
- Hop into WvW, have the next Guardian crawl 1-2 feet forward for each bubble and load the interior with RDPS and you have: a Death Star
It is not a Boon or an AoE, it is categorized as a Ward.
It also does no damage and zero healing.
Someone mentioned this in another thread:
Racial skills are deliberately less powerful than the profession Elite skills.
This is so people don’t pick one race over another because of it’s racials.
I play a Guardian so I don’t really use/craft cloth/leather, but after speaking to my caster friends it seems they are having a MUCH harder time than me getting high-end materials, specifically gossamer.
I miss Soldier gear it seems it’s only available on gear under lvl 70.
The god venders also sell the stats on there gear. I know i’ve seen the soldier stats on some of the god vender sets.
Can you elaborate on these god vendors?
I actually use bear a lot in dungeons.
It has a huge health pool and the big KB (5) is awesome if you need to separate a mob.
