For the love of god, don’t be a bowbear guard!! Staff is the crappiest of our weapons and unless you got endless funds/time or a credit card or rich parents, its the biggest waste to put that on a guard. Get something useful like Jugg, either of the GS, or even Bolt.
No.
- - Good for tagging multiple targets. Hits through walls. Not the best damage but good utility and tag-mobs-for-massive-loot-ness.
- - Longer range, low cooldown, decent damage, heals.
- - Damage and swiftness. Spam this in WvW when zerging.
- - I shouldn’t even explain. 12 might stacks to your whole party with at least a 50% uptime, depending on boon duration. Also an area heal. Also a massive personal heal if you have Altruistic Healing.
- - Area denial, will buy extra time in any area of the game.
Definitely not a crappy weapon. It’s meant for support, not for damage. If you want to support your party as a Guardian, then 90% of the time you’ll use one. Just because you equate damage dealing capabilities with usefulness, doesn’t mean that the weapon is useless.
As for the topic of Bifrost itself, I quite like it. It’s the perfect amount of rainbow-ness to not make my Charr guard look silly, and we already spam rainbows with #1.

With Rabid gear your wells won’t do a whole lot of damage, as you get no power from it. If you want both your conditions and wells to do damage, you would be better off with Rampager gear, which will boost both.
Focused rituals, imo, is not good for PvE at all, as most monsters will simply walk out of the wells. You’d have to stay in melee range for melee mobs to stay in the wells. As for any ranged mobs, you can simply run up to them, pop a well, and run away. No need for ground targetting.
For general PvE, I would drop well of darkness as PvE is easy enough already. I would replace it with Blood is Power as 10 might stacks make a nice change in damage. I would also replace Focused Rituals with Master of Corruption to use it more often. In dungeons you could always switch back for the added utility of blind.
Having said all that, going straight condition or power build instead of hybrid is probably better, but for your playstyle I think those changes would help.

Death and cuddling are always a good combination. Some people will argue that it’s against the lore, but Charr have titles and nicknames too, you know.
As for my Charr…
Surok The Smiter, a towering Guardian with a big heart and an even bigger hammer, valiant defender for his allies and a merciless killer for his enemies. Has a soft spot for Quaggans too.
Race : Charr
Sex : Male
Class : Guardian
Armor : Primeval Armor Skin (Gem Store)
The helmet clips with my character’s chin/beard.

I love the contrast of the armor against the white skin, as well as the black eyes.
Frostfang doesn’t fit well, however.
And here’s my bloody ghost necro.
Any of the Arah weapons look at least somewhat Necro-ish.
If you don’t mind splurging, the scepter Eye of Rodgort is super Necro-ish (and expensive), just preview it and you’ll see.
As for a staff, The Crossing is a great fit (undead hand holding a ghostly green glowing lantern). It got a lot more expensive since Halloween tho.
And I’m very much hoping that a legendary worthy of us will come out soon.
Just to clarify, I once read a very similar topic. One of the devs posted and said that the whole transmuting the helm/shoulders to make them account bound and have both on one char thing is NOT an exploit, so feel free to do it

I absolutely agree with everything this person has said. Why can’t we have purely cosmetic mounts? Or they could give us out-of-combat swiftness for when we want to travel a little faster from place to place? They could be like town clothes and we would automatically dismount when we got into combat. I would love to see my Asura driving a hover-bike (the hover part being like Plague or Lich Form where you don’t actually “hover”) around while exploring or when something’s not quite far enough to waste money on a WP.
If people are THAT afraid of the “smaller world” that WP already take good care of, make mounts require a world completion reward like Legendaries do. Or better yet, let people buy simple mounts from a vendor in LA, some cool mounts from the gem store, and a Legendary-tier racial mount that you need the aforementioned world completion reward to craft along with a horrifying amount of gold, same as Legendary weapons. I know that I would spend time on crafting one, even if it made no speed difference whatsoever.
I’m a necro in the same situation, and, for now, I’m not bothering with getting a legendary weapon for him. Anet is, supposedly, working on new legendaries, so I’m hoping that at least one of them will look like something a necro will use.
If you REALLY want a legendary for your necro, there are 2 options: Kraitkin (trident) and Kamohoali’i Kotaki (spear, that’s the exact spelling). They both look necro-ish enough to use them, but they’re underwater weapons. Unless you love underwater combat or think you’ll visit underwater areas a lot (like wherever the speculated water dragon will live), don’t bother.
That’s actually the exact armor that I’m using on my asura necro. I found recipes to craft the entire set from a karma vendor, and I think it fits a necro really well. There’s not many other armor that would feel “necro-ish” that I know of except the Arah set, but that’s lvl 80 and a pain to get.
