After playing Skyrim I consider the crafting window in GW2 to be a complete joke.
I would like to address a problem that has been present since the start of GW2 and to this day I’m still surprised people accept it the way it is. because the crafting system is a complete mess.
To create one simple weapon or armorpiece you need to craft 3 separate items which each have their separate recipe to make. and these consist of 1 or multiple ingredients and these items have NO other function in the game but to craft the item in question. Unlike a bar of a certain metal which has multiple functions,
If that is the case then why doesn’t my crafting list look like something along these lines;
Craft Axe:
>Bronze
>Iron
>Steel
>Darksteel
>Platinum
>Mithril
>Orichalcum
>Ascended
Craft Sword:
>Bronze
>Iron
>Steel
>Darksteel
>Platinum
>Mithril
>Orichalcum
>Ascended
etc.
And upon clicking the Item in question You would just get the full list of required materials needed for the object you wish to create! Crafting would be some much
more enjoyable if all the inbetween steps where cut out that served no other function except being turning my crafting window into a maze/timesink
Which leaves us with the matter of the insignia’s. which also clutter up the crafting list.
Move those things into the crafting window! When selecting to create a certain type of weapon/armorpiece just insert a dropdown-list to select what type it should be.
Up till now the only items that make use of a reasonable crafting mechanic are for instance the Inventory bags, Runes and Insignia’s.
No more seperate crafting of hilts, chest paddings, glove lining, or anything like it.
1 complete item, for 1 list of ingredients.
I am truely shocked that nobody agree’s with Milennin. has everybody forgotten what GW2’s goal was compared to other mmo’s.
One of those things was a fair combat system that was based on one’s skill. and not based on how good your worn equipment is.
Taking a look back at GW1 You where able to obtain the max-level gear fairly honestly. You might not have gotten the armor or weapons that suited your cosmetic taste but atleast they provided a statline that was the same as every other max level gear in the game. If you wished to have a specific armor it was merely a cosmetic change! Making the grind for your armor skin the only grind in the game. which is perfectly fine because it doesn’t effect the gameplay itself. But the Ascended gear in it’s current form DOES.
And that is the main issue here people. A full exotic set was obtainable (for example: )with a stack of karma that you would have saved up and obtained over your adventure leveling from 1 to 80. this was FAIR! You where able to get your max level gear and where equally strong as everyone else on your level.
Which is why the Ascended Gear shouldhave been nothing more then a cosmetic change to your character. because now you can only bring your character to it’s maximum potentional by grinding for a TON of resources. which goes completely against what this entire game stood for when it was being made.

“Shake it off!”
If it’s free now then why is it even a thing in the first place?
I could understand that in the past it could be used as a cash sink so people couldn’t endlessly try doing something that was above their ability’s. especially in dungeons this would create some pressure so you would keep yourself from dying to limit the repair costs. but if you’re going to throw that concept out of the window then why uphold the concept of armor repair at all?
The main issue I have with this fight is that it’s more like a frustrating puzzle that I have to reply every 2 minutes in order to get to what I actually want to do. FIGHTING!
I don’t mind the Aoe’s, I don’t mind the tendrils, I don’t mind the bomb plants or the dragon itself. but stop making me run in circles to light those stupid flames that go out if I miss a single frikking dodge! ! it’s long, tedious and annoying.
the dynamic fighting style in gw2 is great fun but it only works if I have the satisfactory of actually HITTING something! something this fight is only 1/5th of!
I’m already annoyed over the fact that I have trouble finishing my world completion thanks to wvwvw.
I like the current daily’s, it makes me travel all over the place and makes me visit places I left behind lots of levels ago. it makes me explore. and thats what I like as a pve’r.
I don’t like being forced into pvp or wvw events when i’m a pve player.
I don’t see why people think this is an issue. nearly all max stat armors in gw1 where just for the looks.
you wanna look good you gotta pay for it. making it cheaper to obtain would be the same thing if they just handed out a weapon transmutation skin that made everything look like a legenary weapon.
in storymode: " THIS WON’T END WELL! D:<
lions arch: " I pray to the Spirits of the Wild, but they rarely answer " ):<
the rest: " FOR GREAT JUSTICE!, REMEMBER ASCALON!, SHAKE IT OFF!"
or all together:
" Remember, shake it, for great justice! " XD
I don’t mind the volume just the sound itself is just…a gigantic nusanse.
the staff primary attack sounds like a demented howling dog.
UUUUNNNKGH! UUUUUNKGH! UUUUNNNKGH! UUUUUNKGH!
just a simple sound effect of dark energy would be more then enough.

I’ll refrain from making any repeative ahte comment towards Trahearne since all of the stuff that bugs me about him has already been said n done. At this point in the game’s development it’s to late to “cut-out” Trahearne from the present storyline anyway. but I do sincerly hope the gw2 staff read this thread and learned something about making the right choices for support characters.
When I joined the Vigil I was convinced that my Mentor and I would be the one’s fighting off Zaithan. I made my faction choice very clear and because of Trahearne I got the feeling I was cheated out of my story influence. I didn’t chose a certain faction just to see my favorite characters get slaughtered off. that should happen to the ones I did NOT chose. same goes for Tonn, he was the first Asura that made me like the race. he was a great character and they just brush him off after a few missions without my choice in the matter.
In the next story arc I hope we’ll get a bit more controle about our subcharacters faith/role with the choices we make.
hands down I hate the crafting window in gw2.
the insanely long laundry list of items that you can craft becomes more and more confusing with each craftable item that adds to the list. I’m scrolling up and down like crazy to find the things I want to create.
and it’s not even that hard to filter, just put all items in their own Tier section.
so you can decide before hand what tier you want to craft in and then show me what items I need to create something and just craft each part at the end after I made my selection.
I advice the same thing with subcatagories for Fine, Masterworks, Rare and Exotic.
and inscirptions.
I have a small example for weaponsmith in the attachment.
what do you guy’s think?
