Since all of S2 will be available to replay for future players for a small fee, what are the odds of doing that with S1? I only played about half the chapters..

Easing new Players into Tournaments

What do you think if the loading screens into the mists and into the matches said something like this:

-Communicate with your team members, look at the chat window.
-You can call and take targets, coordinate.
-You only need one people to cap a point, more won’t make it yours faster.
-Pay attention to downed players, allies and enemies, and make them a priority.

I think it would make the game less frustrating to everyone, newbies and pros who have to deal with their lack of knowledge regarding mechanics.

Another thing, let us fight for 7th/8th 5th/6th and so on places on tournaments. If we lose, let us fight the otehr losing teams. This way people who lose on their first match won’t have to wait another 15 min in the mists frustrated, they get at least another match.

Yes, please. I feel like TDM victory weighs skill (i.e., reaction time/twitch ability and awareness) more heavily than strategy, whereas objective-based game modes are the opposite. TDM also facilitates more in-depth scoring, since there is little to know downtime in a given match. I would play TDM almost exclusively if GW2 offered it. Some players think it’s boring, but I consider it the purist’s game mode of choice.

anything upwards of 3v3 will be ugly, seeing the current state of burst. imagine 3 thieves with voip calling and taking targets on every one of you guys, you would go down one man a sec. they couldn’t balance the classes for a game mode, adding another one is way out of their possibilities, i mean, they can, but it will be a riot.

First of all, I know it would pretty much unbalance each and every class, and major thought would’ve got to be put into it, but, what if:

-We can choose not to have a healing utility nor an elite skill, running with 5 normal utility skills
-Healing and elites capped to 1 each as it is now of course.

There, I said it. (i know i know balance balance, i just want diversity…)

Fastest speed applies, no stacking. Speed is capped at 33% out of combat movement speed (as far as I can tell).

so if I have the signet, the trait is useless?

4th match in a row that i’m (and 3 other people) matched up 4 vs 5.

Now its starting to really bug me, and others aswell, and it completely ruins the experience. 1h30 of gaming boiling down to pure frustration.

Please dont let these guys log back in, or dont let them sign in for tournaments until the next day, or charge them some gold, do something, anything.

Yes, i’m really angry.

Hello everyone, so here is my problem:

Imagine you have your speed increase signet equiped, thats a 25% increase.
If you equip a trait that also increases your speed (let’s say 15% when you use let’s say a dagger), do they stack? Now I have a 40% increase in speed movement?

If so, does swiftness stack also? I’m guessing it doesn’t, so if the above two stack to 40%, and swiftness only gives 33%, do you end up with less speed when you gain swiftness?

Again; I will reiterate; IF you want to Change the meta (The current status quo of team comps) It is up to you to do this not the devs. Start running different strategies destroy the status quo by instating a new one.

Why is it that players always want devs to intervene in changing the meta?
If you want to change the meta start running a nonmeta comp and destroying these other teams, It is up to you to change the meta not the devs.

The problem is you’re afraid, you’re afraid of thinking outside of the box of trying new things and you blame it on a single class or even a single ability which you deem OP. There was a recent post on using non meta comps crushing in Paids, I suggest you look it up.

I don’t want to change the meta, I want to have fun and play/experience variety.

If you do it, 90% of the teams wont require mesmers at all, it will change the meta (competitive) a bit, and maybe give engineers and rangers a change at paid (chance meaning getting invited to teams).

Also, a team with portals wins 90% of the time, and if you follow your line of buffinf/debuffing Anet (you only act when you know numbers and statistics and tons of data) you’ll do it. Mesmer portals are in 90% of the teams.

(in reality, what i want is just variety i tournaments, i want clutch matches to happen much more often, i want to fight multiple builds of the same class, not just 1/2 per class… as things are, people know every bit of the tournament before it happens: 1 Bunker (99% guardian) 1 Mesmer (99% with portals) 2 Bursts (90% backstab thief or d/d ele) and the necro/engi filler)

Please, im not asking for huge debuffs or buffs or even modes or maps. Just… shake things up a bit, its been six months and its been the same thing every single evening)

Christmas Patch/Update Wishlist

Hello fellow gamers and developers.

Before I begin:
1. I know we don’t pay monthly fees, so I imagine you’re (the developers) currently working within a tight budget and maybe even without the full team already, and it takes longer to implement certain content, anyways, longer than what the community is used to in other games with said fees.
2. I’m assuming the December Content Update to be the Christmas event, and that would be a good window to tie up loose ends in regard to the base functionalities of s/tPvP (being 4 months after the game has released).

And so, my wishes:
1. Modes:
-Deathmatch is required, i’m thinking 2v2 or 3v3, to give opportunity for strategy as opposed to 5v5 chaotic aoe spam and such. 2 or 3 small arena maps wouldn’t hurt either.
-Dueling would be a nice feature, just create an entry when we right click on a player (for example, beneath the Invite to Party entry), and make it so the other player would have a pop up window, and accepting would cause both players to be enemies so that they could start fighting each other. This would make waiting in the mists much more enjoyable.
-Progressive Conquest Mode. This maybe hard to implement in such a small time. One team defends 2 points, and the other teams has a timer counting down when they try to capture those points. If they do, the timer is reset, and they move forward in the map, trying to cap another 2 points, and so on. Again, these would probably require too much work to be viable for Christmas. (but it would really spice things up in sPvP, espeacially if you choose to keep the 8v8).

2. Glory system:
-This is a no-brainer, make it so that the loosing teams doesn’t win 100% glory, and players will start to play the game strategically, instead of bandwagoning on the killtrain.

3. Disconnections in tPvP:
-Make it so that when a player disconnects from a tournament he won’t be able to log back for a while (15 min?). Or some kind of glory penalty (1hour?). I know all disconnections aren’t on purpose, but people need to respect the other players. Playing in tPvP outnumbered is no fun at all.

4. Class Mobility:
-If every class can play any role, mobility should be balanced. Mesmers’ Portals and Thiefs’ Infiltrator Arrow have too much power in tPvP. Give the other classes means to keep up, or introduce penalties for excessive mobility (if you go through a portal you’ll gain weakness/vulnerability for a while, everytime you use infiltrator arrow the same thing, make it so that these long distances moblity skills cannot be used imediatly before starting a fight without a meaningfull disadvantage).

5. Elite skills balance:
-You cannot give Mesmers a 10 second “stun/daze” while other classes only have slightly stronger utility skills in their Elite slot. Moa Bird is a win button. You give everyone one, or you don’t give it to anyone.

EDIT
6. Necromancer variety:
-This is more a personal wish. Add a 2 handed scythe weapon for the necro (and other classes you deem fit to) and make a vampiric build available for us guild wars 1 necro fans.

That’s it. I know most of these, if any, won’t make it past this thread, but i really do think some would improve the competitive scene a lot, without requiring class nerfing/buffing and huge gameplay changes. Just give us more tools to play around with, and make it more friendly to casual/lone players, and i’m pretty sure people will start ranting and raging in every forum about every single issue because they will be busy. tPvP Balanced Teams

Hey guys,

I’ll make it simple. My friends don’t play PvP, so when i want to, i have to play by myself. Thats fine. Hotjoin’s 8v8 is chaotic and a zergfest. So I’m left with tournaments. The problem is, we singles who join with a bunch of people whom we don’t know, nor have means to communicate other than the chat pannel are matche up with full teams, guilds and such.

I have never won a tournament match against a full team. Ever. Thats about 50% of the games I play. It is getting tiresome. Please craft a system where its like this:

singles vs singles
3 plus 2 singles vs 3 plus 2 singles

you get the point.

i imagine full teams will spend a lot of time go get into tournaments, so make those cross server and you’re done.
