Scepter/Sword defensive build is my personal favorite. To me, it’s an extreme active build that I really enjoy. Not active as in.. mash this button get this result, but active as in knowing when and how things work and how to best act and react. I don’t find that as much in the other builds.
This upgrade is a real bonus to me. It’ll allow me to do a few interesting things such as get an extra illusion out for a shatter before the mobs close in (in the case of a melee style mob) or to be able to get an extra shot in and illusion out before hitting the first block in the case of ranged.
I know it’s probably not the popular way to play.. but I enjoy it massively. So the point is, to each their own. You payed for the game, play it the way you want. The scepter buff is a good thing to us scepter"ers." But then again.. it was always viable to us.
Where are you all getting the problem with time warp? It’s obvious that Time Warp is fine. He’s complaining about the extremely OP skill Time Wrap. Anet should just remove that skill and compensate by making Time Warp last 20 seconds.
I’m going to have to agree with Jungle Quack which is the second poster. As far as it being a horrible PvE class, I will have to strongly disagree. I’m having next to no trouble doing what I want. I think maybe it has less room for error than other classes, but once you get used to the play style that you choose it really becomes rather easy, quick and very enjoyable.
I don’t think Anet even cares about the rangers.
This seemed awfully familiar, so I just went around to all the profession forums and did a search for “cares about” and “doesn’t care.”
true , i really wish they buff us or something but i dont see them caring about the complains of necro

I bet that sounds childish but our class has the most bugs, next to necro (which it looks like they actually care about).
The only reasons it could be taking so long are 1) there’s some SERIOUS kitten in the game that makes the servers burn down if bundles auto-AA on pickup, or 2) they don’t care.

Anyway i think that the assassin role isn’t so highly sought, just because ok, you can 2shot their dd, but you’re also easy to be killed..
That’s why i did this post, just to see how the other sPVP players use it.
But.. how i see, noone cares about.. So sad.Warrior: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/A-warrior-in-need-of-a-bit-of-faith
ANet stated they were “happy” with the Warrior. Ultimately, whether or not the players feel it needs more diversity and/or more interesting skills, it’s ANet who cares about ANet’s opinion.
Guardian: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/Guardian-with-longbow/page/2
Too bad the devs dont seem to care at all about fixing the range issue on guardians
Mesmer: closest I could find was https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/mesmer/Is-it-just-me-or/first#post209299
Mesmers need some love. I don’t care for the limited choice of weapons, I don’t care for the rest of the nerfs since BWEs, but I DO care for EXPLOITS that they’re ruining mostly my PvP gameplay.
So it seems we have a general consensus among the posters on these forums that all 8 professions are broken, and Arenanet doesn’t care about any of them, except possibly mesmers since I couldn’t find a post on their forum where someone explicitly accused Arenanet of callously ignoring their problems.
Can we stop with the persecution complex about class balance? I’ve seen this in literally every single MMORPG I’ve ever played. Players get this bizarre notion into their head that the game developers actively hate them because of the class they play and are trying to make them quit or reroll. Can we just step back and acknowledge that makes absolutely zero sense?
The reason everyone feels like they’re not getting the attention they deserve in a timely fashion is because we’re all narrowly focused on our main character but Arenanet has to be concerned with the entire game, including bugs and problems that we personally have not encountered but that thousands of other players have. There’s no conspiracy here.
I think this sums it up. Literally since EQ I’ve seen all the same arguments. People feel personally offended because the class they enjoy most isn’t the end all be all. Interestingly enough, it’s not about what a few people want. As it turns out now, I personally and apparently most other people, except obviously those complaining here on the forums are in love with the game, the game play, the mechanics, and so forth. Well, the only thing that annoys me wildly is the skill point challenges getting screwed up. They’ve been working hard on that.
What does bother me is a few people crying and whining about changing this and that, and the threat that it imposes on gameplay should the devs actually listen. Thank goodness they’re slow to make those kind of changes. Usually. There are some good ideas, but generally, it’s about “I want to kill everything and if I can’t my class is broken.” “You can please some of the people all the time. You can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.” – Good Ol Abe L.

It’s interesting really. I find the game great. So far, I’m enjoying every aspect. I love the mechanics of play and gain. I’ve found that there is one saying that sums up every game ever created. “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time."
In the gaming industry, a better way to put it would probably be, “You can please some of the people most of the time, you can please most of the people some of the time, but screw up once and see how many bandwagon jumpers there are.”
This is interesting. As I use my scepter with a sword and use that combo while soloing for the counter attacks that make a quick fight in most cases I guess it’s been to a real advantage to me. I have noticed though that at longer distances for mobs that I want to have clones get attacked early on it is much slower getting them all out. Or at least it seems.
Perhaps they need to do an overhaul and add skinning as a gathering too and for those who don’t want to cook but are complaining about gathering for cooking, most clothing comes from plant fibers. There could be a way to add plant fibers for making cloth to appropriate level plants. You still have to gather, but now you have a purpose in gathering.
