If you have a 2 year old acc you must have lvl 20 (or 30) books, lvl up times, writs of xp and some money to craft. I leveled my little fella to 80 within seconds.

I do have those books yes…some tome i must also have i guess…but I have been playing very little gw2 the last year or so….

oki plan….

1. use the thing that get you to 30….i think i got a thing on my main..called something stupid;)
2. try to do the haloween thing since its in the game atm…
3. use birthday xp thing and craft like a madman…
4. use all the tomes of knowledge i can get my hands on..
5. IF close to 80….grind the last levels by www’ing……IF far from 80…quit gw2 and play swtor;) (or go back to WOW again)

I logged into the BL map last night…i could not for the love of God find out how to get out of the base you spawn in..*I mean common…I’ve been playing www since releace….I’m casual yes, but not stupid….WHY do they do this? New players must be completely mad about this….

whats the reason for locking us in our spawn point? The old BL maps had a big gate…you kinde knew ..THAT is the main way out!….

I returned for the HOT and I have only been in game for 1 hour…and I’m at a loss…

I might be bored with my engineer. I have played the same engineer since release…and HOT ads nothing new for me…I hate every aspect of the “scrapper” and I will not go that elite route….

I’m also extremly confused in HOT….its a little bit to caos I think….but..in my breaks i normally play wow where everything is neat and dandy and you are sort of herded onto the things you are suppose to do..in gw2 it feels like tossing babies out on deep water and hope they learn how to swim…

But….

What can I do? Change class maybe? What class?

I have been looking at the reaper, daredeveil and revenant…

All of them seems cool in their certain ways.

Reaper is cool looking but do you have to turn all black all the time? I find the visual quite disturbing and I’m afraid it will get to me after some time playing….What i mean…can you turn off the dark smoke and sinister visuals to a degree? Basically i just want the outfit look and 2 hander sword along with animations…

Daredevil…I think the concept is cool, but I have seen the animations and they dont realy fit…and the staff animation is kinda..extremly tiering after just watching the dev vid for the elite spec…it does NOT look martial arty imo…

So that leaves revenant….i think i like this one..seems like it has new animations we have not seen before? Is this correct? I find the revenant to be martial arty..and almost korean looking when it comes to flash animation…i like it:)

But….Do i have to grind all the way from level 1 with any of these classes? I just dont think i can muster enough motivation to level up another toon. Leveling in gw2 was the worst experience I have ever had in my life….I was sooo glad when it was over for my max level engineer 2+ years ago…

Can I buy max level or something?

I remember WOW had the same problem 100 years ago;) Pets dies left, right and centre….they fixed it…i dont think it was hard either…I would have Anet call blizzard to see how they do it;)

I play PVE as I play WWW…cond, dual pistols HGH build. turret healing. I tell you one thing..it works far better now than before my break 1 year ago…

I have more or less always been kitless as engineer:) I play a HGH build..basically an elixir popping junkie….dual pistols and cond based ofc:)

when running long distance i swap the turret to the heal kit..just for the infinite spped it gives..but once into combat..back to turret for heal:)

Its cumbersome as F to switch to the heal kit and back all the time…but i have not figured out a way to macro the swap thing….IF anyone knows..let me know:)

I can tell you one thing…my HGH cond enginner have not realy changed since launch it seems. I only play www and public event pve it must be said.

They renamed a few skills and tweaked here and there and moved something etc….but once that was sorted (by the help of fellow forum members) is was basically the same build i had before…just shorter range of pistol attacks:( but overall i got better at survival due to passive tweaks etc…

PP thief is inferior to Condi PP engi, everything is in a long enough fight, but that’s only if you use the kits. Thief PP is not something I ever use on my thief because it’s inferior to every other weapon set. I get wanting to use pistols I love my Quip but you can’t be effective in any game mode if you’re tied to one weapon for sentimental reasons.

The 3 classes that use pistol.
Mesmer- I almost never use pistol
Thief- PD DP I almost always use a pistol but never 2
Engineer- PS PP are my favorite engi weapons but I do also run rifle because it’s great.

I know you’ve said you’re coming back to the class but I’d suggest learning Engineer. Run Kits. Run Turrets. Run Elixirs. Run Rifle. Run every spec, every armor. This is an advanced class but if you want to play a simplified version go Flamethrower burn spec.

You don’t play engineer and discard 75% of what the class has to offer. Perhaps a guardian? I know you suggested thief but that’s not an easy mode class.

Well I play engineer for the dual guns…so the only other class will be thief;)

But…the post above this provides a build that is almost the same as i use…the good old HGH build as far as i see..and that build does not use kits alot I Guess…i Guess HGH is more of a made potion addicted junkie than a true engineer but it Works for me:)
And also its good because of all the passives…i mean..my rotation is 1-4 attacks…and when in the kitten i press all other buttons and Escape:)

ty tor is looks good the link you gave….I’l give that one a try:) Only i like to use healing turret so i will have that one..knowing i loose out on a flask for the hgh but still….probably a minor issue…

and i might go for the invention…using tool skills is not my best skill;) so maybe the Tools trait is not my style…and permalegs sounds like a good think for me..i like to run away;)

I dont know how to link my build, but I use dual pistols as an engineer and have done since i started playing.

I saw that both my increased range and my coated bullets are gone!!!..what do we use now?

I dont realy swap alot to kits so i play dual pistols 99% of the time. I use the med pack kit thing for faster running, but in combat i never use anything else than pistols…

what are the "go to " build for dual pistol cond engineers?

I’m gonan try the P/P builds provided and see how i feel about it. While I say I like to be in a zerg I basically mean I like the protection of a zerg..not that I’m a Perfect zerg player.

Well I know thief is more single player dmg than engineer, but it felt rather lackluster in a zerg With an engineer as i never realy downed anyone…i contributed yes..but i did not feel it…

and I kinda want at least 1 pistol in my build as i like the look of pistols on thiefs….

Yea I looked at that thread at it seems like P/P might be valid for me:)

the range might be an issue, but i know from playing an engineer..i think i have 1200 range there, but MANY engineers did NOT use the build With increased range, and they still felt rather valid. And 900 versus 1200 aint that much…and we have the backward Dodge thing also in thief so….

And it looks like the Unload skill deals alot of dmg….so it might be fun for me then…to focus a target Down in a zerg…

With engineer i hurt alot of ppl With coating bullet or what have you..spread conditions..but few ppl died from me alone;) and everytime i was caught in the open i had to use my main long CD to Escape…or I would be dead…

Is there a valid P/P build out there? I play 95% www so it must be valid for www.

I’m also willing to use the weapon swap…so I Guess thats p/p and P/D?

I’m perfectly happy With playing mainly in zergs…I very seldom roam alone…so I dont need to be Perfect in 1vs1.

I have been using P/P build from day one. the only reason is that i think i looks cool. I originally wanted to be a thief, but I read that P/P as a thief was lackluster.

So i play an engineer P/P

My spec is 20/30/0/20/0 (if i recall)

I have the “burn on crit” from the explosive tree (cant rem the name of it..but its the one all engineers used to have)
from the firearms tree i have the cooldown reduction on pistol skills, range of pistol and the piercing bullets.
from the elixir tree i have the prot on cripple thingy and the all elixirs remove cond

I have slightly more power than cond dmg, and i guess i run a combination build.

The way i play the range on pistol is VERY usefull…i tend to play most of my time just on the edge of max range…then sometimes close in for the blowtourch etc…and rocket boots away after….

I never use kits….when i want speed i use the elixir B and the med kit speed buff (in other words…only as i travel )

I love my build:) but It’s not the best ofc…but i think it the best for my relatively limited abilities and above average stiff hands with slightly poor reaction and a combination between clicking and the naga mouse with 6 buttons…

and as i cant micromanage worth a kitten ….i dont use HGH…

(my favorite game would be a game i could play with hitting only 3..max 4 buttons in addition to using the mouse and arrow keys)

also I must mention that my focus in www. I play Pve also…mainly story kitten…never fractals..and never spvp

Rocket boots are very very usefull in www skirmishing. And thats where I realy put my effort into. I use it all the time in www. I dont play spvp and I agree on rocket boots in pve. I never use Rocket boots in pve…they suck for that. For pve i use the rocket turret (or elixir gun) in the “rocket boots” slot.

I have used rocket boots for appr. 1 mnt now. I love them. Yes they sometimes bugs out on you (meaning they dont work….dont send you backwards etc).

But the only area I use it for is www pvp. I use it to launch myself from the enemy line and back into and beyond my friendly first line (safe area). This makes me close in on the enemy line and put up some good close combat skills (e.g blowtourch and the rocket boot kick etc) and then get back into my own line quickly when i start taking focus.

And like you already have mentioned. They dont realy work good for getaways. They work best to launch yourself into a friendly group of players, but for my part, thats all i need:)

Its a 60% proc chance when you crit by the way but still…

From what i see when i play I seem to always have 3-5 stacks of bleed on my target. I’m not sure if this is the way its supposed to be or not.

But what other sigil would you guys recommend? To put on my OH pistol…

Is it viable to have 2x Superior Sigil of Earth? I have one for my MH pistol and one for my OH pistol.

Do I then have more chance to proc bleed?

Looking through my notes i see that someone on the forum suggested the prec/cond dmg/tough gear along with pow/vit/cond dmg jewlery…thats what i will aim for i think.

I like it this way…I like it better when i can easily fool myself to think that the opposition is evil etc…If i get the feeling that there is a real person with feeling/emotions etc that i fight against…I suddenly dont have the same urge to kill him…

Yes…i play more for some kind of immersion (me and my friends versus the forces of evil), and not so much to be competetive against other players.

I think the armor i have looks good. Is it an engineer look? Well i dunno, but its a stylish leather half-coat. Do I look like a thief? Maybe…but by using the blue color and red stripes on the pants i tried to create a more uniform-look….

I wear a mask due to not happy with the toon face and I’m exstremly vain….

I’m using P/P aswell. Its mainly because i like the look of two guns, and i hate the look of a gun and a shield.

In terms of dmg I dont know to much, but I’m gonna play P/P regardless, I can only pray that it is viable.

Concerning the blowtourch skill from the OH pistol: There are several occations where close range is unavoidable anyways, so I realy like that skill and i use it alot.
