It is bad enough if I am DCed after the ten-minute deadline – but it is soul-crushing when it happens near the end of the 45-minute period. No rewards, no achievement updates and always the threat that it might happen again next time.
Surely there is a way of coding in a grace period for getting back into the instance should a player become DCed. Come on Anet – this is basic stuff!

Having this happen utterly ruined the event for me. I don’t even want to bother anymore because it just feels like gambling with my limited play time.
Okay… so this worked to get delivery of the broom.
But then… the broom disappeared after a single use. Hmm… maybe the store description should mention that?
Alternatively… holy wow the gem store purchases are incredibly buggy! I think I’ll be holding on to my money until I get a broom or a refund. Sigh.
If you did not receive your broom, trying checking your mailbox to make sure it isn’t full. If it is not full, try deleting at least one player-sent mail anyway, and see if the item shows up after that.
I am having the exact same problem. I bought the Broom yesterday and I still have not received it. I don’t have a ticket number.
