phospholuminescent infusion clipping bug

Hello, it seems that the phospholuminescent infusion isn’t working as intended, the green overlay only affects certain parts of the character.

I personally think it’d actually be better without the overlay part since the aura around is what makes it cool, that way people can still use the refractors.

edit, fixed by repairing the client, it seems the patch did damage the client.

I keeps crashing for no apparent reason since i’ve patched the game.

With the same message, “gw2 Memory at address xxx could not be read”

I only had a 30% ram use last time it happened and i’ve also deleted my local.dat to see if that helps…

The game just suddenly crashes, even when i’m just roleplaying in Lions Arch.

Woah Rauven, how did you get those textures for the jeans and such? I’ve never seen those in game, that’s awesome!

i’m using the stalker’s pants with iron dye (for that darker blue jeans) but any dye will work since the texture of those pants is really good, it will always look like jeans.

Well, this is a skin that i’ve actually been using on my thief for a while:

Since in we try to use fantasy themes in real life… i guess in a fantasy world it would be the opposite

The theme is basically looking out of place!
Like if a guy from our world was teleported into the game.

Even the weapons are things that i’d be able to use in real life, like the slingshot.

Hello, i came here to ask for help with the “Stay cool” Achievement, the only one i need to complete the TA aetherpath.

Sadly noone in my guild wants to do it and i cant find anyone in the LFG who needs it.

I’ve done all in one in one session with a group of people that specifically wanted to do all achievements but i missed the first one by walking on the fire by mistake and the TA achievements has been stuck at 16/17 for months.

ive never noticed DR. when do this even happen? I farmed silverwaste everyday for 6 months before I stopped farming, then SW came out, and thats all I do

Chests aren’t affected, but if you farm for example the bags in those balm farms, you will notice it, it’s really obvious, the candy mobs always drop a bag each in the beggining, then you kill 3 of them but you only get 2 bangs and so on.

And if you change map and try the balm again, the DR will still be down since it seems that it not only is character bound, its mob bound.

The fact that it is character bound makes it even worse, so instead of just switching to another character, i have to waste time on the farmer character that i use only for that single task, farm mobs, if i do a dungeon or some other content with my other characters, it wont count…

Great job anet…

Mats drop from different mobs in different maps, just go to another one, farm there and you are all set.

It should at least be account wide… that way i can pause the farming a do some map exploration with another character or something. then switch back, really, this is an artificial, annoying and unnecessary limitation…

people should be able to farm mats if they wish so

Says who? Certainly not ANet. They’ve gone to great length to keep people from farming and instead distributing stuff more evenly among the playerbase. The recent nerf to key-farming is a good example of that, area DR is another.

It’s a fine line they’re walking here. If they offer options to farm specific materials, they’ll have to reduce the amount of those materials naturally dropping among the playerbase, thus limiting the supply for those who do not wish to farm, effectively pushing them stronger towards feeling the need to farm.

The game framework either favors the people who wish to farm or those who don’t. You can’t have both, since increasing supply in one part (either farm spots or natural drop distribution among all game areas) of the game naturally goes with a decreased supply in the other part to create a balance.

The choices ANet has made strongly imply that they favor the “distribute materials naturally” over the “have farming spots with drop chances increased above natural gameplay”. As such, I suspect that in their view people should not be able to farm mats if they wish so, but rather collect them while playing the game just like every other player around them.

Previous games, as well as real life, have conditioned us to almost blindly go for one thing exclusively and disregard everything around it. but that’s not the vision this game was built upon. GW2 is trying to give you a world in which to have fun, and collect shinies on the way. And for me, personally, they’re doing a really good job on that subject.

By the way, if you stop to blindly only look out for T6 mats and lodestones, you might be surprised to find that your journey to build your legendary won’t take a lot longer anyway, since you’ll be playing all kind of fun stuff, picking up all kind of loot that can help you get to your goal if you’re just willing to go through different ways to get there. Collect part of the material, liquidate stuff you don’t need to buy other parts, craft/promote yet other stuff for the rest. You know you can promote t5 mats to t6 just as easily as cores to lodestones, right?

DR is here for a purpose, and it looks like it’s a tool to help material distribution among all players just as much as to combat bots. Deal with it, and go look for alternative (and possibly even more fun ) ways to get to your goal.

I would have agreed if not for the fact that there wasn’t any DR before the rise of the bots, it was implemented specifically to fight them, nothing else…

I was able to get my crafts to 400 (no 500 at that time) with only farmed mats…

Really, this DR bs has to end anet.

Yesterday i was farming a bit with one of my characters, i’ve stop once the drop rate decreased, i then switched to another character, crafted a bit and went to sleep.

Today i wake up, crafted a bit more, switched to the previous character in the map were i was farming yesterday and look, the DR is still active after being offline all night, still no drops….

Really? Being offline for 8 hours doesn’t count?

It’s not my fricking fault if a legendary requires 250 of every t6, 100 charged lodestones and all that BS.

Really, it has to stop, it’s hurting the players, bots don’t exist anymore and if they did, they probably would just switch area after 30 mins, for them, any material makes them money when farmed by the thousands.

Please, anet, stop with this insanity, you cant be like:

“You must grind to make your legendary, but we hate grind so no farming in the same area for more than 30 minutes even if you need a specific mat that has a really kittenty drop rate in the first place from specific mobs, we’re so casual friendly.

But yeah, you still need to get a full stack of those materials with a ridiculously low drop rate, and farm them and being bothered to switch area every 30 mins, if you’re lucky, you’ll get 2 or 3 out of the 2000 t6 thats are required in that time"

Please don’t come with the “buy them on tp”, people should be able to farm mats if they wish so, plus i’ve already put all my gold in buy orders for the charged cores to make the 100 lodestones that are needed.

-The low amount of blooms for legit players (those who don’t tag and move along)
-Unrealistic reward bloom requirements for skins and potions, worsened by the fact that the event only lasts 4 days
-No drops, exp, karma or anything from kills and the whole thing is not even funny

…oh, and it was bugged…

For a minute, after finally getting my prize (the others i did were bugged) with the reward boon at 19 i was like, well, i got 30 blooms, if i could get 30 per event, i might be able to get a skin…

Then people told me that 20 bloom came from the daily, i’d get only 10 from now on with the same reward boon of 19 (a unrealistic value for players who played the event legit and didn’t WP, Tag, WP, Tag)…

Well screw this…

This is the worse special world event i’ve played on GW2 IMHO

Really disappointing, if you expected people to be interested in buying HoT with it, you did a horrible job.

Hello, i’ve been noticing lately that some achievements are stuck, they do not count/update.

The other day i killed the convigton world boss, the pirate boss, cant remember her name, and it didin’t count to the bosses achievement Hydra Queen, i know i killed her and it counted the kill because i got the gold medal and the chest…

Also the fashion achievements like emperor’s new wardrobe and the race specific sets are stuck as well, i went to the charrs home town yesterday and bought all t1 pieces (i didin’t had any of those), that’s +18 pieces for the charrs, fashion and and emperor’s wardrobe achievements,

Still the emeperor’s wardrobe is still stuck at 12/18 pieces T1/5, on the charr specialty alone i have only 9 pieces, it didin’t count the 18 t1 pieces i bought…

It says spefically, soulbind 12 unique pieces of charr cultural armor, well they were all soulbound by default and i have the skin unlocked in the wardrobe, still not counting for the achievement.

And the game didint count many skins i used before the wardrobe feature, i noticed that when i was checking what i was missing and there were amny pieces of armor and weapons that i used to use missing, like the old lions arch guards armors, the heavy plate.

There’s no fun in farming when you have lost all hope that you’ll get something good…

Q.Q

Absolutely. With that kind of attitude, you’re not going to get anywhere.

When farming, don’t look for the big money items. Look for something that is almost a guaranteed drop and maintain the amount you’re picking up (e.g. T6 materials, cores, lodestones, ectos). Go for something tangible and achievable.

This is the stuff that stacks up (money-wise) pretty fast, and then you can hope for good drops on top of what you’re farming. Every rare that drops is an accomplishment. Every exotic you get is wonderful.

It would be silly to try and farm for a precursor, because the drop rates are so abysmally low. It’s better to involve yourself with a “steady income” and benefit from the perks that also appear every so often.

I think people are not getting me, i’m not saying i always play expecting to get a good drop, what i’m really saying is that my quality drop rates feels wrong, this issue just struck me like yesterday when i decided to look back and see how unlucky i’ve been in this game after the last guy i’ve helped made more gold in the first 2 weeks of game play hitting big in both a nice exo worth 17g and 2 bl tickets than what i made in the last 2 months or so, every day i see people getting great drops, i’m happy for them, like i said earlier, i was optimistic and always had in my mind the thought that one day i’d get something cool as well.

But now that i’ve noticed that it’s been 3 years, i’m disappointied, the issue isn’t getting a good drop by it self or gold overall, but the fact that after playing so much, the game never rewarded me with some drop that would make me say wow.

If you drop 5 exotics with sigill of energy in short time its also 50 gold….

but people always believe only big “dawn/the legend” drops are good

all this Q.Q everytime

Like i said the best drop i had was worth 8 gold (again, at the time, prices change), a single exotic with a sigil worth 10g would be a new record for me. i’d be happy with just one….

If everyone got the expensive drops they wouldn’t be expensive anymore. Rare drops aren’t really anything worth thinking about, they’re few and far between for everyone. Find a flatter way to gain gold you do enjoy and the good drops will come in time. I like to make orichalcum insignias and inscription, they’re easy as hell to farm but sell instantly. Run the T6 nodes in southsun, orr, and silverwaste, and farm T6 mats from high level trash mobs (heavy bags are your friend). You can bank like 50g a day on light work this way. Rare drops mean nothing compared to minimal crafting and economic experience, which is the core end game in GW2 by design.

Again, i’m not saying i want it easy and get a precursor or anything, i’ve been fine till now, but i think 3 years without a single good drop kinda feels like something is wrong.

That’s the issue i have here, after 3 years and close to 2000 hours, someone would expect to get something, will it be a percursor or simply a measly exotic worth atleast 2 digits of gold…

You mentioned black lion tickets as one of the good drops your friend got. Those only come from opening chests with keys, which leads to a (to my mind) obvious question: Has your friend been buying Black Lion Keys from the gem store? And if so how many has he bought and how does that compare to how many keys you buy/farm?

If your friend has spent $100 on keys and you never buy them and do 1 key run a week then it wouldn’t be at all surprising that he’s got more tickets than you. (And in that case would assume the other lucky drops also came from the chests.) It’s not that he’s got better luck, it’s simply that he’s had more tries than you.

This is the problem with discussing ‘luck’ and RNG in this game generally. Almost everyone looks at how much time they’ve spent playing (as total hours spent logged in and/or how long ago they got the game) and which drops stand out as exceptionally good in their memory.

There’s a huge amount of information missing from that. To take a hypothetical extreme if one person bought the game at launch, logged in, and never played but stayed logged in until today they’d have over 26,000 hours on their account and absolutely no drops at all. But that would have nothing at all to do with how ‘lucky’ they are(nt) or whether there is some sinister code flagging their account to get bad drops and everything to do with what they did in game, which would be nothing.

Obviously that’s an absurd extreme but exactly the same considerations are true for real play time. A person who got to level 80 as fast as they could and then spent most of their time farming world bosses, champ trains and silverwastes is likely to have far better drops than someone who took their time levelling up and then spends a lot of time afk or chatting in town, helping low level friends in starter maps, levelling alts etc. etc. and again that would have absolutely nothing to do with one person being ‘luckier’ than another – it’s simply that one has far more chances to encounter good drops as a result of how they choose to play.

The got the tickets with the keys you get from the character story.

.snip.

I get what you mean but you’re not the only one that has had to farm their butt off to gear characters :P
I have 9 level 80s, used to be 10, 6 with 100%maps, used to be 7 (yes I deleted a 100% toon). One has a full ascended set the rest are in full exotic with random ascended weapons/back/accessories scattered.

Before I even bothered with any legendaries I never had more than 100g and I farmed a lot for that. I try to kill Tequatl everyday since he was revamped and after all those kills I finally got 1 Teq Hoard. 1! I never got a preq as a drop, mine came from the forge, and I spent a lot to get them, not as much as buying off the TP but it was still a lot.

If you don’t play all too much then making gold or farming for drops w/e will always seem to take forever.

Tldr: Stop focussing on what other people get and start enjoying your game time, those people most likely play more often and far longer than you can, and that’s ok. As I said, good drops arent the be all end all.

I’ve enjoyed the game, got everything by working for it, my issue is really only the fact that i’ve never saw any worthy item unless i bought it from the tp, if there wasnt a TP, i would be screwed,

That’s mainly it, never got a good “wow” drop in the 3 years i’ve been playing, it’s disappointing.

Hmm, getting highly prized drops isn’t the be all end all of the game. Sure it’s nice getting high priced exotics drop or ascended chests, but if you start to only focus on those you will get very bored of playing.
You made your set of ascended gear, most people either don’t want that or cba with the effort, so you have ‘grinded the game’ and succeeded.

See, I’m not all to bothered what does or does not drop for me, I still have fun. I have 235%magic find, I used to farm a lot of champion bags and I’ve only ever had cheap exotics from those. But I have been luckier with the Mystic Forge.

It’s just annoying that i literally had to work my kitten off for every skin, armor, everything i have, plus the fact that i cant play as much as i wish, i just don’t have more hours because i don’t have much free time to play the game so making gold takes a lot of time with conventional methods, even a single drop worth a few dozen gold would save me days of farming and help equip a character faster.

Also there’s lots of skins that i’d love to use but i simply feel like they are out of my grasp, really, getting a good drop once a while would make a big difference, getting a couple hundred gold from nothing is really helpful. that would be enough to fully equip 2 characters…

Really, i see lots of players with less game time/achieves, etc than me with most of their character fully equipped with ascended and also sporting a legendary, simply because they got lucky with better priced exotics/percursors, not because they did work for it. but i’m not hating them, i’m hating my account…

Practically everyone i know got a nice drop at least once int heir game lifetime that helped them fully equip at least a character.

Hello, i know everyone complains about rng but i’m starting to be really annoying with my “luck”, it feels like it was programmed to be this bad.

All started today when i was helping a new guild member and newb player and like always, they seems to be blessed by the rng god, its not the first time i help someone and they hit jackpot, in this case, he told me he got a 17g drop + 2 Bl tickets in 2-3 weeks of gameplay and that made me think about my account and how i’ve been holding 4 scraps in my bank for years now and literally never hit any jackpot in this game.

My account is now more than 3 years old (i got my “first” 3rd birthday gift a few days ago), i’m not a extremely active player but i got almost 1900 hours of gameplay, 247% MF, 7 lvl 80s, one with map 100% and full ascended and in those 1900hours, i’ve got 3 drops worth ~8g at the time, one was entropy from Teql, a rune from the mystic toilet and a sigil that i took from a weapon i think.

My average other than the rares from events is the exo every couple of days worth less than a gold and maybe one worth a couple gold if i play with the mystic forge, usually is a loss because i put more gold than what i get.

Really, there must be something wrong with my account, this can’t be pure Rng/random probabilities, it feels like it’s purposely bad.

All the gold i have was either got from normal playing (pvp/events/dungeons), annoyingly farmed for endless hours (sw/trains), flipped or bought from gems, but never from a single event like a expensive drop or a bl ticket and is starting to be really dismotivating seeing practically everyday, someone from my guild/friends list making more gold from a single drop than what i make playing in a month, sometimes multiple times… its like everyone you know won the lotto at least once in their lifetime, all expect you.

I’ve always been a optimistic guy, always saying to my self, my day will come, but after waiting for 3 years i just feel like giving up, one thing i’ve always like in mmos was that feeling when after so much grind, the game awards you with some awesome drop, sadly I’ve never felt that in the 3 years i’ve played this game.

I’ve bought gems quite a few times already, without any problems, i did it every time i needed some golds urgently.

Today was one of those days, i was walking around with only 8g and i needed few more to buy some materials to lvl my armorsmith to 500 but sadly it failed saying that it was my bank (the same that allowed me to buy all those gems before) that was refusing my purchase… It is BS.

Anyway, I’ve tried 6 times just to be sure it wasn’t lag or something, 3 times b4 going to sleep and 3 times a few minutes b4 this post, got the same error every time.

By the way, it is a debit card, not a credit card, my bank will never refuse any purchase as long my account has money in it.

I guess anet doesn’t want me to support the game by spending my money on gems anymore… back to the frostgorge champ farm…

Some ppl say that anet changed provider very recently, maybe this new provider is the problem.
