possible idea. why not have AoE still capped at 5 but the damage increases depending on how many people are within the AoE circle. so if 20 people are in a AoE, it will still only damage 5 people but it will do tremendous damage to them as oppose to if it was just them in the AoE. This could possibly be an alternative to raising the AoE cap which Anet said they wouldn’t do and it promotes the same thing as raising the cap, anti-blobbing, as it will make people have to spread out during massive zerg fights, which I think would be more fun. And it will hopefully promote small group play as you take less damage from AoEs by running with a group of 5.
but yeah this is just an idea.

tl;dr this idea sucks
well by defending you would be accumulating points by killing the attackers. so it could possibly help the lower coverage teams as they could rack up points by defending really well and the attacking team wouldn’t be gaining anything except for their kills or if they finally take the objective. but alas it was just a thought.
actually this might be a terrible idea but bear with me.
why not eliminate the countdown to the tick and have it that you only gain points upon capturing an objective (obviously points would be adjusted in said case). I know this sounds off the wall and people will say it will just lead to keeps and towers being flipped back and forth but I think it might lead to a more defensive approach as you constantly defending the objective will constantly deny the opposing team points.
In addition to this, every player who kills another player will contribute 1 point to their score (and players are only worth 1 point, so even if a zerg kills 1 guy only 1 point is contributed to the score). I think this will turn sieging a keep or tower into a cost/benefit scenario. do we try and take the keep for the points or will too many players die and give more points to the enemy making the siege actually not beneficial to the team.
also keep the blood lust buff in but eliminate the stats and have it contribute on the points on stomp so when killing a player you can get a total of 3 points on stomp or 1 point from just dpsing them down. I think this could add to a lot of open field battles and having them actively contribute to the score.
Obviously this might contribute a whole lot of new problems, but I thought it was just an interesting idea.

tl;dr ehh.
From what I saw from the stream on the bloodlust buff, once a server has captured 3 points and defended for 2 min they receive the bloodlust buff and they cannot lose the buff until another server has captured 3 points and then defended for 2 min as well.
I think this is terrible as it totally ruins the chance of the underdog server gaining the buff once the dominant server has received it. The way for a server to lose the buff is just too much time and they can respond and possibly hold the buff indefinitely.
This is why I think they should make that after you capture 3 points and defend for 2 min. You only keep the buff as long as you hold 3 capture points and so if you fall under that you lose the buff. This will help with lower pop servers with defending against the buff and makes it so if you want the buff you have to actively defend those capture points. and will hopefully promote smaller group play.

I don’t know if this has been talked about a lot yet, but here it goes.
When I first heard about the WvW leagues I was actually pretty excited. Though this was because I saw it on the forums first and the poster said that NA will be separated into 4 leagues of 6 servers. Though obviously this turned out to be false, and the poster corrected his post and alas we have 2 leagues of 12 servers.
Honestly I think NA should be split into 4 leagues of 6 six servers. I think that it will create for better competition and severely limit ridiculous blowouts of some top ranked server fighting a much lower ranked server. I mean yes there will still be some uneven fighting matches among the 6 servers in one league but there is nothing you can really do about that unless one of the lower servers receives transfers. But at least we wont have rank 1 going against rank 12 lol
But I think that doing this will create nice competition among the servers within the leagues and possibly create some nice rivalries.
Also this will allow people to know which bracket/league they might want to transfer to. Like league 1 obviously will be about 24/7 coverage and constant zerg battles, League 2 not as much about 24/7 coverage and large zerg battles during parts of the day, most other parts just small-medium sized battles, League 3 etc…
Also it could add some other elements such as if you win one of the leagues you may possibly move to the next league up since it will obviously be a more difficult league to contend in and if your last place in a league you move down. I know this and putting Na into 4 leagues might create a whole bunch of other problems but its just an idea.

tl;dr
seperate NA into 4 leagues of 6 servers as it will be more fun
