Season 3 too easy (spoilers)

I guess you have a point, but it also depends on class, and build.
It took my warrior forever to finish the first episode. I do fine everywhere else, even the main HoT maps.
Maybe you’re just… too good? How do I say this without sounding condescending? Lay off on the condi? Get Bad? I don’t know.
Either way, it took me long enough to consider it a real threat, plus, I mean… I get the feeling we’re gonna complain about this being easy, ignoring our kool (with a k to make it cooler :P) gear, and amazing build that’s effective and we know how to use, and then we’re gonna do it on one of our alts and “Surprise! A-net listened and threw in level 87s everywhere.” And that’s what I’m scared of.
I’m not trying to say you’re wrong, maybe it IS too easy, but it’s too easy for YOU. Not for me. I don’t craft, so I don’t have Ascendeds. I don’t have Legendaries either. I have one Ascended, my leggings, I got from PvP, the rest is Exotic. So sure maybe if you do everything they put in there to make you super powerful, it will be too easy. Again, the only thing I can say is.. get bad… or something else that’ll make me sound like less of a condescending peice of crap…

Look,
When people say things are too easy, they make them too hard for everyone else who thought it was normal, or hard. So please, just get over the fact it’s easier. You’d think that might make you happy… y’know.. to have something easy to do?

How about combat mounts?

Redsong.9201

Alright people, if you want mounts, hear this. What if there were mounts that didn’t really effect movement speed (cause that’s stupid we have Waypoints) BUT RATHER, they gave us special combat skills? Like if we could get a Beetle mount from the HoT areas that would give us the skills of a Beetle Rider. Or we could get a Charr Tank (a smaller version of course) that would give us artillery skills or even a battle dolyak, that would give us high damage skills. Now these things would of course have to effect your health too and we couldn’t use them in PvP OR WvW but, idk, I PvE and RP and i see uses for this in both. It’s just a bit of a compromise. I feel like with the sonic tunneling tool or the witch’s broom or magic carpet, they were trying to give us something along the lines of a mount for looks, but this would serve an actual purpose. Just my 2 cents. So if i need to explain some bits and peices of this or something, or you want to point out a flaw, go ahead. I’m taking notes.

Here’s what I want to see in a glider…
A glider that isn’t one at all! It’s just the character running, or walking if you lean back, on earth shards. This… might be unreasonable, but i’d like to think of how cool all the eles would look doing this!

Can we Sound-Swap with the Norn Wolf Form?

So uh, I want everyone with a level 31+ Norn to go reveiw the Norn Wolf Form. You’re gonna find a skill that makes you howl, granting Regeneration to everyone in the area, and Knocking enemies Back. But in all the awesomeness of how that looks… I think we forgot something. Wolves don’t make bear noises. When you howl, you make a bear noise. We all know for a fact they have a Howl noise. Most all of your Canine pets howl. So why wasn’t that noise used for the Norn wolf Form? Also, couldn’t you use the current noise for the Growl skill instead of a bird caw? I’m serious. The 3rd skill makes a bird noise, the 4th skill makes a Bear noise. And i’m in WOLF form. I mean… come on! is their a secret sixth skill that makes me purr? Wolf form has just about everything but wolf noises… it’s just weird.

[Fact Check] Let's go over Dogs and Cats.

I’m going to be rudely honest here. Cat’s don’t swim (minus the Main Cun [or… Man Coon? Idk] breed)
Dogs will learn to swim if it is nessacary.
So yeah. fix that. thanks.
No really! I want my fern hound to swim, and my Jungle stalker to say “Aw heeeeeeeeeeell no!” It’s more realistic. You know that A-net! Or you’ve never had a cat in your life… but regardless, i’m leaving my things open for debate. Do you think they should make Cats Terrestrial and Dogs Amphibious?

Legendary weapons

I hope all these people who reacted like this to Mike O’Brien saying he’d take some of the grind out of the game took a couple more seconds after commenting to cool down and think. You have to work really hard to get these legendaries, and i’m lazy. I don’t want to do that! I don’t even want to get ascended stuff! The collections for the legendaries were kinda cool. It was exactly like it sounded like to me. It was a journey. Yet when Mike says “Hey let’s give the player-base less to grind out and just let them have more content!” You, the player base who said “There’s too much grinding in this game now!” are mad? Make up your mind! I enjoy this game exactly the way it is because I know A-net could just say “Nah!” and shut it down. Think about that.
They made it easier for you. The legendaries don’t even look that cool, so just get the old ones! (Except for Nevermore I give it a 9/10!) Now don’t get me wrong if he had chosen Sheild, or Sword, the new legendary would’ve gotten used more. Sword and Sheild are really commonly used. I just really thought you all could go about it more constructively considering Mike’s position. But now you’ve all made ME angry, so maybe I’ll go play some of this game that they (I repeat) made, and are still working on. Just try to remember the game is still going to be changed in the future, since this is the first expansion. How many elder dragons are left? 4 that I know of (counting the allegid Deep-Sea Dragon.) There’s a lot of stuff that’s gonna happen in the future!

Where can I find THIEF LORE???

Redsong.9201

To be entirely honest with you, Theives are not all criminals. as far as i can tell they all work in sects of a group called the Thieves Guild (Crappy DnD movie anyone?) Which likely is just a big cover up for a bandit group…. but hey! They killed a dragon! Anyway, they seem to not mind covering one another’s backs but that’s likely because they’re all working at the same gold- I mean uh… goal… So yeah, thieves are a guild of more civil bandits and pirates organized by a sect which is determined by your race. (btw the uniform of such appears to be Sneakthief dyed midnight ice and deep pine in case you’ve ever wondered.)

[suggestion] Dragon Sword Ideas

Redsong.9201

Ok 1. No i’m not talking about just the HoM item i mean ALL the dragon swords, which means Jormag’s Breath is affected by this too. and 2. This is sorta off topic but are we ever going to get a vampiric sword skin?
So after having both my Fiery Dragon Sword and Jormag’s Breath for about 4 months now I think it’s safe to say, they don’t have to be on fire 24/7. I feel like maybe when they’re sheathed they should be not… well not burning me… or freezing me in Jormag’s Breath’s case. I know this is just a minor detail, and this is low priority, but it’s also kinda laggy to constantly have fire going on, with a moving light. This probably looks like more of rant then a suggestion but, hey, I still feel this needed to be said. (Seriously though… technically the Vampiric Sword was a Dragon Sword… can we ever hope to see one again?)

(Suggestion) GW2 Pirate/Sea expansion.

Redsong.9201

Hello A-net. Today I’d like to suggest an Expansion idea. Okay yeah I know you haven’t even released LW season 3 yet but you need to plan ahead, right? So I thought about how cool it would be to have
a Pirate/Sailing themed Expansion after hearing about the supposed Deep Sea Dragon in the ‘endless’ ocean. The hook for this expansion is boats. My idea for it was that you could actually
get a mastery that would allow you to sail with different kinds of boats. First would come the Sylvari boats that would be more Plant like cause… Sylvari… second would be Norn boats that would either honor
the current spirits of the wild, or maybe a couple of sea themed ones like Shark or Jellyfish, third would be learning to sail Human ships which would resemble ones in real life. Fourth would be Charr boats
which of course are made of metal and gears and may include the experimental Engine that was mentioned in the book “Sea of Sorrows”. Fifth would be Asuran Boats (I named theirs last intentionally
cause they would have the most complicated ones) I’m honestly clueless as to what an Asura boat would look like. Metallic and glowy seems to be the theme. Throw in a couple of crazy inventions and
you have a boat! Maybe. And where would we be without PACT themed boats. Which come last. I think we all know what a Pact Themed boat would look like. Some of the Weapon ideas for these boats,
Boarding Cannon: Launch yourself into the air and glide onto the enemies boat to take out their weapons and crew.
Cannon: Standard, boat cannon.
Anti-Air Cannon: Take out the ones coming to your boat before they get there.
and one racial themed weapon. (Coral Spike for Sylvari boats. Mortar Fire for Charr boats. Prayer to Lyssa for Human Boats. Stuff like that.)
Next let’s go over some Guild Hall ideas. I was thinking an Island and a Flagship. Each would have a dock to deploy the boats of course and maybe the masteries from HoT. This would be fun but I’ve been
having trouble coming up with names for them. You might be able to pass off one of the Isles from GW1 as the Island. Hunter’s Isle? Wizard’s Isle? The boat would have to have an original name and you may
want that to fit your story so I’ll leave that to you.
Armor and Weapons have to be Pirate themed. More so then the current “pirate” weapons. In my own opinion they don’t look too pirate-y… Plus Light Armor really needs a Pirate Armor that isn’t just for
humans.
I know i’m leaving a lot out like Specializations or the Dragon’s name (Ynasi? Unader?) but i’m not a proffesional. I’d like to leave some of it to the people who are. That’s all i can really think about for the
Pirate Expansion.
Please, at least see if it can be done.

[Suggestion] Caladbolg Collection

Redsong.9201

Warning: The following suggestion contains spoilers on the Ending of the GW2:Heart of Thorns campaign. If you haven’t finished it, and don’t like spoilers, I ask that you don’t read this.
Hello, A-Net. Today I decided to ask a suggestion again but this time it’s a Collection Acheivement.
At the end of Heart of Thorns you kill off someone who i think we should’ve killed off ages ago. Tree-Hurt (more commonly known as Trehearne)! As you know he gives you the Broken Caladbolg sword
as a final “You did it!” pat on the back. But, that’s just it! I want the full Greatsword! I’ve been thinking with my friend on this and what they came up with was an acheivement quest (collection) that starts
with you showing the sword to the Pale Tree and after you finish this collection bring the items back to her and she’ll reward you with the full sword. Now I do know that while you’re doing the Sylvari Level
30 questline you can actually weild Caladbolg and that the skills can’t be given to someone because they are Overpowered and Multi-class, so maybe just make this sword a freebie Ascended? I mean
taking into consideration that you gave us ALL freebie ascendeds due to the Specializations I don’t feel like this is all that bad. Plus you may draw back some of the Sylvari crowd you lost after saying they
were Dragon Minions (Not complaining though) by releasing something very Sylvari related.
The items to collect could either be earned through completing Living World season 3 or by doing events and bosses possibly in the Tarnished Coast.
There’s not much to this suggestion word wise (though i’m sure it’ll be pretty difficult and long to code… sorry…) but that’s my suggestion for some other use of the Broken Caladbolg sword.

(Suggestion) Theif, Sniper Specialization.

Hey Arena.net, from Beta HoT to actually playing HoT I’ve loved the Daredevil Specialization for Thieves, but I know HoT isn’t the only expansion you’ll be making so I sat down and thought of a Specialization for your next expansion. Sniper. Thieves will get the Rifle for this Specialization, the main, (auto) attack for this weapon would have a 1,500 range much like the Longbow for Rangers. The first skill [Quickscope] would inflict vulnerability for 2 seconds and deal small damage, the second skill [Smoke Round] would inflict blindness for 5 seconds and bleeding for 2 1/2 with a small but fair length recharge. 3rd skill [Desperate Getaway] makes the thief shoot a minimum damage shot and would stealth the thief for 3 seconds and cause them to evade backwards at a distance of 100 with a large length recharge. 4th skill [Stomach Snipe] would knock down the target if it was in a a 600 range; the knockback would be small and the skill would have a large recharge. 5th skill [Full Round] would cause you to stun the enemy for 1 second whilst firing 3 shots at your target each dealing medium damage after this shot the Thief must reload the rifle taking an extra second of channeling. This specialization would be very slow due to it’s recharge and its special attacks would likely have channeling times that require it to be a decent distance away of course the first skill would not have a channeling time. Of course this would be EXTREMELY weak to stuns and melee, (warriors, your time has come) and for the traits it would increase i’d suggest making them Expertise and Power. The rifle is harder to pin. I’m imagining something like The Predator except more practicle. A bit smarter of a sniper rifle, and the sound would be different as it shot, being muffled. The new utility skill type would be “Marks”. Marks are inflicted on enemies, when these enemies are hit a different effect is applied. I’ll let you decide if you want to build on the specialization for the next GW2 expansion. Thats all I got, the rest is yours.
