Guild Wars 2

With all due respect, despite the 10k ban remark, I’ll believe it when I see it. All I see now is hundreds of bots all over the place. On every map. The ones I’ve reported weeks ago are still there, running their same routine over and over again.

While specialized detection software would certainly help to automate things, it’s not needed to identify bots. They are blatantly obvious. It’s not like they’re hiding in the shadows or anything. Either get rid of them or give active players the possibilty to deal with them.

Stuck on the battle of claw island with my Sylvari engineer at the last part where you have to hold the center. It’s still the same crap as it was about a month ago with my elementalist. Unplayable. I’m not going to touch these personal stories again with a cattle prod.

It has been repeated on these forums again and again that we are not all warriors who can solo 20 mobs at the same time. Balance “Battle of Claw Island” for ALL professions. Getting my behind handed to me time and time again with this stupid crap drives me away from this otherwise brilliant game. I’m going to stay at pandaville for a while. Utterly sick of the game right now.

I get disconnected about every 15 minutes with error message 7:11:3:189:101, during my lunchbreak or in the evening. Timezone UTC+1.

I doubt the problem is on my end since I play another MMO and have had about 5 disconnects in 8 years with that one.

Right now, stuck events can only be reset with a server restart. What I don’t get is why individual events don’t timeout and reset themselves. That should be very straightforward to code.

@Manifoldgodhead: Exactly this. I loved levelling my elementalist, but am stuck in Malchor’s Leap (she’s level 79 atm). I know I’m supposed to participate in the events that are all over the map but getting there is an exercise in frustration. Battling through hordes and hordes of undead that CC the crap out of me just to die in the event and do the whole thing all over again is NOT fun. The genius that came up with the idea of contested waypoints, thus blocking our only means of travel, deserves a kick in the backside.

GW2 is a great game and maybe there’s something I’m missing, but I play games to have fun. That’s why I’m going to give pandaville a try this weekend. I’ll definitely be back, though.

Leveling my Ele, I ~always~ had issues with story missions where the mobs were just so strong and I would constantly have to graveyard rush enemies and take a death for every one I killed. My warrior is only in his 50’s, but the quality of life difference is amazing. I can just face tank and spam Hundred Blades and have no issue. It’s really quite dramatic.

I ditched my level 56 elementalist after doing her story quest last night. It’s simply not worth it. The profession, in it’s current state, frustrates the crap out of me.

There’s nothing wrong with having a profession that’s harder to master then others, but there should be a payoff. A mage/elementalist is a glass cannon that is supposed to die when it get’s hit to much. But all glass and no cannon makes the elementalist no fun at all. Has this profession been tested during beta? Compared to my engineer the gap in playability seems huge. A real shame.

Claw Island so irritating because of that. You’re stuck with way too many zombies that move faster than you AND hit like a truck! Just to make things worse, they’re main strategy is to knock you down or flank you. Earth attunement, it does nothing for this!

It doesn’t feel like much of an epic story when my main strategy boils down to a) circle strafe or b) circle strafe around a pillar. After a point I’m just making myself dizzy.

Trust me, it gets worse. There are a couple of brutal quests after the claw island one. Are they doable? I guess so. Are they fun? No. The mobs totally ignore your npc companion and come after you with everything they’ve got. My elementalist died 6 times yesterday trying to do her story quest.

The quests are not tuned with the elementalist in mind and have certainly not been tested with an elementalist. She simply can not handle 6 mobs at the time that hit like a truck, no matter how much I kite them. The low damage/low heals/stupid long cooldowns frustrate the crap out of me.

She’s level 56 at this time and after the quest I ditched her and created a warrior. I’m not going to touch my elementalist anymore until the profession gets fixed. I play games to have fun. Maybe I should take a look at WoW:MoP.

You should try the quest with an elementalist. Really big fun with those underwater spells. And the npc travelling allong with you: I wish I could have killed him myself. Totally useless. The bloody fish would rather attack my dead corpse than hit him once. Worst. Quest. Ever.

Nobody is freaking out. It’s just a little hard to read an announcement in game if you can’t log in to start with. They should announce maintenance on this site.
