So, I haven’t had an extensive foray into dual wielding at level 80 though I primarily leveled as a dual wielder (the call of 100 blades was too hard to pass up when I had enough tokens for a GS soon as I hit 80). But now I’m considering going back to dual wielding.
From looking at things, my gut feeling is dual axes will give you the best damage, but I’m not entirely sure what dual swords and maces offer if anything, anyone care to enlighten me?
Now that my warrior is nearing 80….where can I get this sweet looking set?
Really excited for a new profession as well, I love heavy armor so that would be a welcome sight for us to get another one as well. But am I the only one who wants Hylek as a race? Heavy armored…..toads…..that go into battle….ya know?
So a post of mine in a thread got deleted for being “frivolous.” I’ll try to put this delicately (and I have a feeling this thread will get deleted either way) but just what exactly is the point of the policy behind that? I understand being totally off-topic or spamming the forums. What I don’t understand is when a thread is made talking about mounts, and when I reply with a sentence endorsing the idea of having mounts in-game and then jokingly adding that my norn would need something the size of a minatour in order to get around, it’s deemed “frivolous” and is deleted (the thread, btw was not deleted, just my post).
This isn’t meant to be a “Hey, why was my post deleted” thread, this is meant to be a “What’s going on in the minds of moderators.” If you’re not spamming or being grievously off-topic what’s wrong with a “frivolous” post here and there. It’s a forum for an mmo hence a social game, of course people are going to make silly posts and even silly threads. If they’re not inappropriate, what’s the harm? I realize it may seem like I’m overreacting but I honestly feel like I responded, on-topic, to a post and because my response had an edge of "frivolous"ness to it, my post was deleted. God forbid they allow any sort of frivolity on a game forum.
So, I never played GW1, have no idea what the story was there and so sometimes feel overwhelmed when wondering how everything fits in in GW2. Specifically, zones like Blazeridge Steppes. It seems obvious there’s a ton of lore behind it, but as a guy just leveling up I have no idea what the hell is going on and why there are monsters and people transformed into evil crystal things. Is there any handy guide on like GW1 Lore? At least some sort of overarching storyline so I can get a bit of a better sense of where we stand now?
I looked through the mats required and neither seem to require any of the items that require 500 token from explorable dungeons. Just wanted to check if that’s right or if I was missing something.
woah never had an idea about the mists thing, definitely gonna try that out.
So I’m trying to decide between these two classes. Currently, I have a level 43 warrior. He’s fun to play and I’ve generally enjoyed leveling him so far. Normally, I play the paladin class characters so I was naturally drawn to guardians but despite the fact this game doesn’t have the whole holy trinity thing, coming from a WoW vanilla background I was worried about being pigeon holed into some sort of healer/support role.
To make a long story short, I just wanted to know what some of the pros and cons were of playing either classes at level 80. Because I literally only just made a guardian who’s barely level 5 but I’m having tons of fun already and the weapon skill choices seem like they definitely have greater potential. I’m assuming when it comes to support, the guardian wins out there, but would I be right in thinking that the warrior will be able to put out better dps then?
If someone has experience playing both classes (or even better both classes at level 80) would really appreciate the advice!

I realize something like this is WAAAAAAAY too early for me to think about because I’m not even 80 yet, but I’m genuinely curious. By the time you actually get the mats to craft a legendary, would it be stupid to waste it on an axe? It seems that the requirements are so high to craft one it’d take a really really long time to make TWO, much less one legendary weapon. Does this mean I should just mentally prepare myself to switch to a greatsword build down the line if I want to do damage?
I have to agree with this. I was confused when I started the 15-25 zone with about 20 in weaponsmithing and all of a sudden I’m getting iron ore I can’t use for another 55 crafting levels.
So I’m a little concerned, someone tried logging into my account from China. Thankfully authorization was requested which led me to changing my password but what I’m wondering is, how would someone have gotten my login info in the first place? I don’t use any third party software and definitely never shared my pass with anyone…
Idk why, but I really can’t get into playing the other races aside from Norn and Human. Maybe Charr somewhat, but to me Sylvari and Asura look odd and I just can’t see myself playing them. But then I feel guilty when I create another human as an engineer instead of a charr because I feel like I’m missing out on some story line. Am I alone in this or do some of you also prefer to play the more….human races lol
Just wanted to see if there were any other opinions or if it truly is that limited. Just turned 30 yesterday, so far got Signet of Rage and Bear form and was saving for something else but wasn’t sure what. Banner seems like the next best option perhaps if I’m in a dungeon? Bear has been semi-useful for tough veteran mobs or skill challenges. From what I’m reading juggernaut is worthless which is good I found out now bc I thought I was gonna get that next. Is Snow Leopard any good or no?
So as I was playing I randomly discovered that apparently the server I play on is the “unofficial” oceanic server. Not sure what was meant by unofficial, but it made me think that it’d probably be nice to be on an “unofficial” east coast server then, since that way I’d have a better shot of doing guild events if people from the same time zones flock to the same servers. Is this a totally stupid idea or should I bother switching? If so, anyone know which servers are east coast? (unless, by unofficial it was meant that just a ton of people from that region flocked to that server, in which case this whole idea and subsequently post, is stupid).
So I normally run dual wield axes and I quickly learned after running AC for the first time today, that + frenzy = me dying A LOT. My guess is that I’m better off using a weapon with some CC but I just wanted to make sure this was true. For dungeons, is it preferable that I run a hammer or maybe maces? or mace in off-hand? any advice is appreciated.
I ran it for the first time in story mode just a few minutes ago. It was fun and I was happy by the end and I liked the fact that they used some mechanics for a few fights and it wasn’t just “tank and spank” so to speak lol but we did die ALOT. It got better as we went a long though, maybe it was just that we got better at coordinating. but idk
So right now, I’m a level 28 norn warrior. I have a shiny set of green armor from various karma vendors and two finely minted green axes I got from the trading post for only a silver a piece. What I’m wondering is, how often should I be upgrading my equipment without it being wasteful? I’ve realized that a lot of gear around my level on the trading post is actually really really cheap, so I’ve been saving up my karma and instead just decided I should buy my gear from there on out until the next best thing comes along, but yea, any rough guide as to how often I should be upgrading?
Also, unrelated but I figure I’ll keep it in one post. I’m a level and a half away from level 30. I understand that’s when I can do my first dungeon. Is there some sort of dungeon finding tool or do I just go to map chat and say I’m looking for a group?
Thanks for any help.
Mine is almost done, was working on getting it all last night! So yea, as someone said, you get the pieces from various places. For me, I got the gloves, helm and legs in snowden

I can’t remember the name of the helm or legs but I got them in Snowden from Karma vendors too.
The chest and shoulders I got in Kessex Hills

As others have said, there are different armors around this level range that look similar, up to you how you want to get it.
