My only issue is how much value players are placing on them. Yes, they’ve been made key to exploration of the maps. I get it. People are just losing their kitten minds over them. Mounts should be a footnote not a major selling point.
It’s a total cash grab from an already dwindling fan base. Anet just keeps making bad calls. It’s a shame too.
If they wanted a cash grab, they’d add all sorts of things to the chests to make them more attractive to those spending RL currency.
This is the opposite of a cash grab, since it largely affects people who stockpiled tickets expecting to be able to get one skin/ticket.
I have no idea how you arrived at that conclusion. The skins are good and people are going to spend money on chests for scraps. Plus the rest of the loot table. It’s absolutely going to incentivise people to buy more keys.
The story would be so much better if the new black lion weapon skins weren’t double the price.
This is setting a bad precedent. I’m very unhappy with this decision.

What are some ideas, other than giveaways, for some fun activities to hold in WvW? Everyone knows about naked runs and events of that nature but I’m looking for some creatively fun things to spice up WvW but also promote normal WvW activities. I know it’s a rather limited scope but I thought I’d pick your brains. Thanks!
Seriously though, are we not going to talk about recycling content? The last Halloween and Xmas events being exact copies of the previous years and have been utter bullkitten. Let’s talk about that more seeing as how we’ve already beat the rest of this post into submission. Seriously, I get more seasonal content out my Runescape account that I log into once a year.

Are you open to world transfers?
Anvil Rock has its serious issues, I’ll admit that now but we also have a very friendly and goal oriented oceanic player base.
I’ve been running full zerk phantasm mesmer when I feel up for challenges in sPvP…but after this patch I’m seeing nowhere near the damage I use to do…nearly 50% less on certain phantasm skills. I know the recently released traits have called for more tanky builds across all classes but something is amiss. Is anybody else having this issue…or am I just insane?

I’m currently running something I threw together 4/4/0/0/6 with rampager armor and a mix of Rabid/Berzerk trinkets with GS/ScP. Trying to mix up phantasms, shattering and condition based attacks. It’s basically a very aggressive, very high condition based build with just a decent amount of power to throw in a Phantasm to drive home the kill. Solo roaming build. I’ve had decent fights in WvW and in PvP but haven’t really gauged it properly.
Just want to see what you guys are coming up with in terms of more aggressive Mesmer builds.
Not going to bullkitten, AR is mostly a PvE server and lately we’ve had a slow WvWvW game…but this server accomplishes a lot with the numbers we do pull. If you’re looking for a amazing WvWvW server, AR is not for you. If you’re looking for a close community that bands together to exceed expectations constantly then give Anvil Rock a try.
Completely agree. This game seems to lack in comparison to other MMO’s in the armour skin department. Literally 70% of my time and effort I put into guild wars is to look cool. Haha
Well, do you have any idea how cool it would be if the mesmer elite “Polymorph Moa” was changed to an AoE? Turning zergs into moas would make my day.
On a more serious note,
1. I’d like to see a great deal more diverse weapon and armour skins.
2. I’d also like much more of the map to be available.
3. PvE loot is worthless…they could do something about that.
4. More maps for PvP and WvW, as well as different objectives to WvW.
5. More professions would be great, it won’t happen but…it’d be cool.
The mesmer gs auto attack does NOT need to be a melee attack. I’m sure most my fellow mesmers agree.
Why do people always come onto these kinds of posts and say stuff like this.

That is complete nonsense. AR is beating SF and Kpop at EVERY single turn. We are taking lead because our WvWvW game has skyrocketed. Yup, we are taking advantage of coverage gaps…but that’s not the entirely we’re wining. Hell it’s prime time for everybody right now and we’re still leading. Hmm. Crazy.
That’s exactly it! Hahah! Everyone thinks we convinced a few huge guilds to join AR. The fact is we didn’t. The only transfer that I was aware of was the guild SHH from Kpop I think it was and they said they were bringing 30+ ppl. Then they got over here and it was like a group of less than 10 and half of them went right over to DH.
I’m not saying we have not gotten any new guilds, to say that, I’d be wrong because I just don’t know. What I have seen is an increase in popularity of WvW WITHIN the server. Thats all I’m saying…besides we we’re ranked what 23rd or 24th before the season? What kind of WvW guild would of transferred to AR….think about it.
We beat GoM at the end of Season 1 not because they secured their spot in the season and decided to give us a free one, they quit because we started kicking their kitten opening weekend and decided to let us roll with it to save their embarrassment. We beat SF and Kpop because we have a more spread out time groups then they do….NOT because our zergs out man them.
I agree with Mariticide, every server has bad apples. Not even bad apples, overly excited people I should say. AR has been getting our teeth kicked in by every server for months and these last month we’ve been getting our ducks in a row. Do we have some pride in that? Hell yes we do!
As to what borrok has said, you’ve got people that use that bug on EVERY SINGLE SERVER. Don’t cop no self-righteous attitude unless you know for a fact your server has never done it. As to not being scared of us…idk which server you’re on but we’ve got a 21k lead and we own everything sitting on the map that’s worth everything of value. If that’s nothing to be scared of…what is?
I was actually hoping for like a specific weapon skin for the meta achievement. That would have been great! If you got the meta done you’d get a one time only skin that would have been a fitting reward. Not only was the season one chest kitten…but it didn’t have anything in there to distinguish it from any other reward. It was a lazy move by A-net.
