Ideas to help Power Reaper

Power Reaper and Core Necro needs firstly raw baseline damage boost. 30% would be a good beginning. THEN careful rework of traits. I like ideas you have but there’s also an another thing:

Devs won’t listen to you. Necro is forgotten. There are better classes to look after and balance them because more people play them now.
Master of death? Please. You are just a toy. (Yes, I feel like this when I’m on my reaper).

I played necro since release of GW2. Also I played Reaper (Hype af) after HoT release. Do you guys remember how blighter’s boon even worked? If we can’t be good dps, anet should make us at least excellent tanks, but It didn’t happen.

Scourge comes soon in next expansion. Look at Reaper and try to guess how long will you play on competetive level.

I’ve been observing this forum for ages, people had many great ideas to make us, Necros, great again. I didn’t see the changes in patches. That way I can quickly summarize a conclusion that Necro is not going to be fearsome character, at least, not in PvE.

However maybe your posts are at least read a bit by devs. Vital Persistance nerf and quick fix to bring it back baseline in nerfed version gave me hope that maybe someday somehow I’ll see lfg with text ‘need Reaper’.

About changes you guys offer: greatsword damage on soul eater trait would really shake a ground. Bonus against chilled foes? Why don’t we have it since beginng? Tying chill mechanic to power damage is a wonderful idea. Reaper is based on chill after all, right?

There’s also a thing that shroud should in general have access to utility skills, at least, be affected by signet passives baseline.

Telling that vampiric lifesteal is not so good is also true. Try to play thief with lifesteal build. All we have is clownish version of things others can do. Sad.

Not to mention that greatsword aa needs to be faster or should receive damage increase. Slow attacks have more disadvantages than advantages which is missing attacks really hurts for our score when faster attacks dont feel it that much.

Ok, maybe my post sounded very grumpy, but after so long time I’m really on edge of reroll. Expansion release may or may not be a final nail.

It’s a victory on it’s own as community for so long asked to make it baseline. I actually feel much happier with baseline 25% than trait 50%. I can use other than soul reaping trait line and shroud will be still useful. Good old times when shroud was so long, but everything ends.

Well, in current state necro slowly stops to be attractive. Necro was known for being the easiest and most op in open world class. Solo master. At least we all agree that anet successfully did what they wanted – made this trait, and by the way Soul Reaping less attractive.

I’m not sure if to complain. Blood magic is also fun, but EH. I prefer to have ‘options’. To choose, if i want blood magic or Soul Reaping. As a Reaper ofc (In Core there’d be no choice but Core necros have now worse because they will be forced to play weaker Soul Reaping).

I’m playing a power reaper and I used Soul Reaping mainly for that trait (which does not exist anymore). I guess, I’m going to drop that line for blood magic maybe.

Well, I’ll miss that trait cos it made shroud actually a very good mechanic that had potential, with some number tweaks, to help us, power reapers and necros, to somehow come closer to meta. Someday at least.

I wouldn’t rather say that devs are bad or so. I think they know what they do. I have to run more tests on patch before i can say if shroud-based reaper is RIP or not. But at first sight it looks VERY RIP. [*]

I’m trying to look at other things. Signets with trait will work in shroud, i’ll surely look into it. I consider a trait with Signet of Undeath to be 1/2 Vital Persistance (25% slower decay in combat). Also – Soul Eater. I was wondering if it works in shroud if we change while wielding greatsword. 1/2 LF per second would be also nice to upkeep shroud longer.

I have to admit though that shroud, especially in instances, was sometimes insane. I remember doing boss fights 80% time in shroud. I think I’d be okay with that nerf, if Reaper Onslaught would have effect outside shroud too, with lower numbers.

I’m afraid, that shroud will become necro’s personal ‘barrier’. You can’t make shroud a major part of dps if it ends so fast.

For dungeons/fractals I change locust for other skill, depending what’s needed. Sometimes I use golem for elite skill. It’s might generator, it’s easy to upkeep full stacks when in shroud that can last nearly forever. Gaining might has also role of self-heal and LF generating. Dhuumfire boosts damage even being full zerk (thanks to might stacks).

Major con in raids for this build is it’s main mechanic – might. It’s going to waste, because there’re always some PS warrs that can upkeep max. might stacks. In conclusion, this build isn’t created for raiding, rather for solo/dungeon/fractal content.

Horrible Lag

I’m experiencing lag issues since yesterday. I made some tests and -diag. I had the same situation as Menion. Only some servers completly lost all packets.

Lags are strange: I can’t attack and use skills. When i move and die, my teammates can’t ress me. However everyone can see what i type on chat when im on “lag” and I checked it with teamspeak on and ping test active.

Sometimes i have DCs without actual leaving a game, so when i come back i’m in the same place of the same map.

Today i was on fractal run. Everyone had lags like me and we wiped. Meantime when i asked guildies if they have lags, they said they don’t (most of them). Looks like this problem affects only part of players. I don’t know why.

- crafted (tailoring) shoes (idk rare or exotic at 80 lvl)

Changing worlds didn’t help me. I had my warrior stuck after toypocalypse activity. I logged on my necro to check what’s going on and WPed him to Divinity’s Reach. Well, now i have 2 characters blocked.

I have time to play but now i can’t because of this bug… Please, someone help!

EDIT: After ~20mins of trying logging atleast succesed. Run from Divnity’s Reach while you still can!
