wow…there are a lot of long posts here…can we please put TLDR summaries? I don’t have this kinda time!

I like the ideas put forth by Tyler and support them 100%. I think that the data available to Anet should help them calculate the off hours for each matchup and reduce the multiplier accordingly. Though, I feel like this “multiplier” should be visible on the HUD and available through the API so that it can be transparent. If not, we will all be raising a lot of stink in the future when the matchup doesn’t seem to be going our way.

I also think the “Last Stand” mechanic will make for some highly entertaining Thursday and Friday nights as the lower servers take a shot at winning.

So, last night, saw Mag/DR develop an interesting strat for small-groups…they patrolled the approach to the keep that the zerg was attacking to keep people from running back. We had to mass up in larger groups to get by them because as 1’s and 2’s we were being picked off. You just have to get creative about how you support the zerg. If all you are looking for is small group fighting, i think there’s a game mode for that…it’s called PvP.

I have always disagreed with this being an exploit. This isn’t “fly-hacking” or “wall-climbing”. The seige is still destructible. Even if we all used this, it doesn’t seem all that big a deal because as a defensive strategy it fails since the north towers can be attacked from many different directions (including trebbing from the adjacent camps) and as an offensive strategy, if the server is backed up into their own citadel, how much of a threat can they be?

Doesn’t the WvW team have more important things to work on? I’d hate to see this item get undo attention when scoring updates sound more impactful to the long-term viability of WvW.

so – i’ve been playing my reaper for a few days since the update and i believe we are dealing quite a lot of damage still. I run a power build, so maybe i wasn’t the target of these nerfs, but, i still wreck in wvw , especially in the current large-scale meta that’s happening with the alliance system. Not that I didn’t enjoy winning 1v3 before, but, it was ridiculous that i could burn down players so fast in outmanned situations.

if you get trapped in a matchup alliance with a server you hate (ahem…mag) there’s always guild hall arenas and pvp stronghold

IMO – This is way more interesting than the player-generated chaos in T2 at the moment. :p

Tyler and his team appear to be trying to make this game mode better, so let’s take a moment to appreciate that before we start trolling and bashing. We’re always trying to dissect every little aspect of a change before it even launches. Instead we could just have fun figuring it out as we play. I mean, kitten , it’s a game after all…

DBL’s feel laborious…probably because of the previous stated barriers to navigating around them – I’m looking forward to the map changes when they happen because I’m thinking they will make me happy.

The ABL will feel nostalgic. I enjoyed running on them…remember the quaggan event in the middle lake? That felt a lot like PVE, btw. People complained about that until they took it out, then people complained about losing the water combat opportunity. I kinda missed the lake – it was a great way to sneak a massive number of golems up to watergate of garrison undetected

@RodOfDeath, I agree that build diversity has gone down since launch. Not only because of the lack of choices one can make post-HoT, but also because of the rise of single points of reference like metabattle.com where many starters get their builds and never try anything else.

I wouldn’t want it to get any worse than is already is…so, “No” I think we should be free to experiment in WvW.

Tier 2 is apparently very blobby from the looks of the streams. If you want fun fights against reasonable numbers during NA prime time, check out SBI. We’re pug-friendly and always have been. We may not synergize builds and ball up as tight as most organized guilds do, but our militia does alright.

I think population estimates either before or after any rumored mergers is theoretical at best. Who cares what tier you are in if the population is even at the time you most often play and the fights are fun? What isn’t fun is going into WvW when you most often play and finding that your population is extremely low and the competition’s population is extremely high. This is likely to happen on the lower pop servers after a merger until the glicko evens things out….but, it also happens when there are huge server “gold rushes” like what happened last year in tier 3 (fight tier) and what is happening now in tier 2 (battle royale tier). One factor that anet can’t control is user migration. Maybe NA should all just move to tier 1 and shut down all other servers….

SBI has NA Prime time population primarily on EBG. You will get roamers on the enemy BLs along with occasional guild raids (and they’re almost always friendly to pugs). What you won’t get is much of a population during any other times. We have a friendly community so don’t be shy about joining in on ts or tagging up.
