I am not sure on how this can be fixed but here is an idea. Make it so that siege in a tower/keep/castle can only be placed by the Guild that claims that structure. Anyone can build and maintain it but the claiming guild is the only one able to drop siege. If the structure is unclaimed then only a set amount of siege can be built, that is the siege cap for that structure is lower. Make it also possible then for a guild to claim more then one structure, for example on a BL there are 4 towers and 3 keeps. Allow a specific guild the ability to claim one of each per map and once claimed the de-spawn timer for that siege is increased. For example the current system will de-spawn an ac in one hour if not refreshed. Increase that to two or 3 hours if it is within the control of a guild claimed structure.

The problem with this idea (and several others proposed so far), is that these griefers have their own guilds (typically just bank storage guilds) and they claim the towers and keeps to prevent anyone from having buffs on them (and since WvW is designed such that claims do not expire unless the tower/keep/whatever is flipped, there’s no way to remove them). So, now you would have a griefer who has claimed the tower/keep/whatever and can put whatever troll siege they want and no one would be able to place usable siege at all since they have it claimed.

Linking siege placement exclusively to people with pins also won’t work as some of the griefers on our server, anyways, have pins. And to be honest, 100g isn’t all that much in the grand scheme of things. Linking siege placement to WvW rank also, again, won’t work as some of these griefers do have very high ranks in WvW (if I recall correctly, our main griefer, who is a former respected commander, sadly, has somewhere over 1000 ranks).

I know, it’s easy to sit here and point out the flaws in all the suggestions. And no, I don’t have any better ideas. But it seems odd to me that if the same people are constantly being reported by numerous people that nothing is done by ANet. If it was one or two people reporting, you may figure it’s just something personal between them. But when 20+ people report the same user? There’s got to be something amiss.

Pretty sure you don’t need 5 trebs on the supply pick up point in the keep. This has been happening on reset nights for weeks, eating up supply, preventing people from upgrading the keep, and they’re not even in usable positions. I think it’s also hard to simply say “Oh, well, maybe it’s a new person to the game who doesn’t know better” because it’s 5 trebs targeted specifically to the supply depots.

Honestly, we need a solution here. I think the incidence is relatively low to begin with, but when it does happen and nothing seems to be done, it does nothing to discourage others from joining the activity. Would it be possible to add some kind of report feature for griefing?

Ebon Verity [EV] is a small-medium sized guild of 93 members. We’re a tight knit group that keeps things casual, fun, and relaxed. We love to run through dungeons and fractals, fight in WvW, help with personal stories, stand around in Lion’s Arch, and chill on Mumble (not required, but lots of fun and a good way to get to know each other).

A big welcome to all our new members! We will be trying a tier 3 trek tonight since the tier 1 was a bit easier than we expected. Also, this weekend we are looking to do a guild sPvP take over on a server to teach people how to play sPvP and get some achievements done (completely open to people who have never done sPvP and the environment will be kept fun, casual, and friendly). Yes, we are accepting new players (we have a handful already that we’ve been helping with story line quests, introducing to WvW, walking them through fractals, etc.). The requirements are pretty simple – be 16 years of age or older and want to have fun. While not strictly required, it’s much easier to group up and do things together if you are on the same server. While you can guest over for some things, you wouldn’t be able to join us in WvW stuff if you aren’t in Jade Quarry with us.

Jade Quarry server is really nice and there’s always people on, so it’s easy to get help from random people when you’re in an explorable zone. I’ve been on it since the first beta weekend and to me it just keeps getting better

I’m not sure what server you are currently on and if you’d be willing to transfer, but I’ll mention my guild as a possibility for you.

In brief, we are a small (65 members) guild on Jade Quarry that does a little of everything. We have a range of players from those that just bought the game to those that have played since launch. Everyone is very friendly and easy going and loves to help one another where they can. We’re more than happy to give some ideas regarding builds and classes and help you get through the personal stories as needed. We also run through dungeons and fractals fairly often and several of us more or less live in WvW (and of course, we’re happy to provide walkthroughs and information on each of these as needed and always open to trying new things and hearing any ideas you may have on better ways to do these).

We are mostly a North America guild with a couple people in Europe and Singapore. As such, the only thing I can’t promise is full activity at all hours of the day and night. We are most active from about 6pm Eastern to 4am Eastern.

Ebon Verity operates on a system of trust. We feel all members should be allowed an equal say and share in their guild. As you participate with us more, the better opportunities within the guild that become available to you and the more perks you are entrusted with (ex. the ability to launch built upgrades, queue up new upgrades, start guild missions, withdraw items from the bank, etc.).

We are a PvX guild that is drama free and already has most of the guild upgrades complete (we already have guild missions up and going and are close to unlocking the guild treks).

Ebon Verity operates on a system of trust. We feel all members should be allowed an equal say and share in their guild. As you participate with us more, the better opportunities within the guild that become available to you and the more perks you are entrusted with (i.e. the ability to activate upgrades, queue new build orders, withdraw items from the bank, etc.).

We do not currently have organized nightly events, but every night we do get together and do the chest runs for the guaranteed rare item. We love to run dungeons and fractals and several of us spend many hours in WvW. For guild bounties, we tend to run these a couple times throughout the week to make sure everyone gets the personal rewards. We use Mumble to communicate with each other throughout the day (not required, but recommended) and to coordinate during events (highly recommended).

Our rules are simple. If you like what you see in the guild, just be as active as you can. Multi-guilding is acceptable. You must also be 16 years of age or older (which you’re 19, so you’re good to go here).
