As a roleplayer, Character Personality was something I loved initially and really was looking forward to seeing how it affected my game. Unfortunately, I didn’t find it had much purpose in the game and NPCs reacted pretty much the same to me no matter what my personality was. Since the April Features Pack, it seems to have been just removed, and I’m very disappointed in this, but I kind of understand why ArenaNet might have dropped it.
I’m posting this thread in hopes of encouraging discussion on how ArenaNet might re-incorporate Character Personality into the game and make it more meaningful as a mechanic. I just want to give a disclaimer that this is purely hypothetical brainstorming, and is not affiliated with ArenaNet or it’s staff. This is just fans talking about ways we might make the game we love even better if we had the chance.
So I was thinking what about having NPC factions that reacted better to certain personalities, thereby offering things like slightly better prices on items or more services; it wouldn’t be overly difficult to balance that if they had identical positive services and prices for each faction affected this way, and just had those factions in different areas from each other.
What do you guys think? How could Character Personality as a game mechanic be made meaningful?
[SHIFT] + [CNTRL] + [H].
This would be the correct combination.Happy screenhunting ! ; )
No, that’s not the correct one. That simply toggles the UI offor on entirely. SHIFT+PrtScr is supposed to remove the need to toggle the UI by automatically removing the UI a split second before taking the screenshot then putting the UI back on a split second after the screenshot is taken. The issue is that it is not working.
Thanks guys, but [shift] + [ctrl] + [h] toggles the UI (default setting).
So if I want a screenshot without it, I need to toggle it off, make screenshot and the toggle it on again. However [shift] + [print screen] is supposed to work to remove the UI for the screenshot only – and it doesn’t for me.

I had the same problem. I found I had to first manually disable the UI with CTRL+SHIFT+H then take the screenshot separately then re-activate the UI with CTRL+SHIFT+H again to keep playing. SHIFT+PrtScr is supposed to simply take a screenshot without the UI in it, so we aren’t having to manually toggle the UI off then on again just to get a clean screenshot, but it’s not working.
